Pathfinder Characters
Dwarven Ranger (Zeitgeist)
Eschatologist or Yerasol veteran
Heavy Crossbow purist
1. Describe your experience with the rules system and the campaign setting.
Lifetime D&D player. I’ve been in a couple of Pathfinder games. No experience with Zeitgeist. My biggest challenge will be not mixing up game systems as I am active or recently played in 3.5, Pathfinder, 4e and 5e campaigns. I’m more about the story than the rules so just correct me if I mix something up.
2. Describe the character you would like to play in this campaign.
Lots of ideas and flexible to changes. First concept, a Dwarven Ranger who is a crossbow purist. None of this progress and technology is the future of ranged combat crap. He will gladly test his worn, reliable, hand-crafted heavy crossbow against those firearms any day. A veteran of the Yerasol Wars, he believes the Heid Eschetol movement (can go with either feat) having seen many a fellow soldier meet his end during those days.
3. Provide a writing sample of the character performing their duties as a RHC constable and a small portion of their background.
“What are we waiting for? Let’s go get him.” The rookie stated.
“Shut up and sit tight. Patience. I tracked him here. It is true he is in there. What we don’t know is if he is alone. This cave is likely a safe house used by their group. You might be outnumbered 20:1. We wait.” The dwarf replied. He knew this could take awhile and was patient enough to wait it out.
“We can go alert the RHC, bring a squad to clean it out.” The rookie actually had a good idea. The dwarf was impressed.
“We will, after we get this scum. Don’t want him sneaking out while we are gone.” The dwarf had his prey in sight and didn't want to lose this opportunity. All he had to do was wait for the right moment.
“I could go.” The rookie didn't seem to want to sit still and wait this out.
“Don’t even think about it. I need you to carry the body.” The dwarf told him. He wasn't sure the young guy would make it back on his own and he really didn't want to have to carry their target by himself.
“The body? They want him alive.” The rookie was shocked.
“Shhh.” Some guys just didn't understand how to stake out a target.
A trio of men appeared out of the cave opening. It looked like some conversation took place before the other two returned inside. His target looked around and then started the long hike back to town.
"Let's go get him." Ah youth...
"Shhh. He's too close. If he cries out, those in the cave can hear. Again, unknown numbers." The dwarf had to educate this one. He waited and kept an eye on both the cave and the man they were after.
"He's getting away!" The rookie was getting worried as the range increased.
"No. He's not. Now shut yer trap." The dwarf paused, took aim and let fly. The blunt bolt hit the man on the side of the head and dropped him to the ground with one neat, clean shot.
"There, now go get him and let's get out of here." The dwarf stated with pride.
