Re: Greenest in Flames

Inanah Nightbreeze:
"We didn't find where the prisoners were kept, the huts seemed to be for the cultists, but we heard that when they were taken to the cave, they didn't return." Her face was grim.

"Do... do you tink dey were fed to de dragon?" Aisha asked with trepidation in her voice. "If so it is the best to just burn those cultists to a crisp! Don't you agree!" the voice in her head roared, seemingly seizing an opportunity to push the Zakharan to set someone ablaze. Aisha looked to the ground, gathering before speaking up again.

"We should meet those who remained head on and then raize whatever is left of the camp, so nobody can just move in again." she said in a firm voice, lips a thin line as she pressed them together. In her eyes the fire of righteous fury burned and she was ready to spread havoc.

"I suggest Inanah takes the right flank and I the left moving up quietly with bows then the rest move up and approach whoever is in the camp that way we can cover the group's approach and lend range support if required" suggested Talik

Re: Greenest in Flames

"The dragon was not in camp the last time we visited, but it could have come back since." Inanah nodded to Aisha.

"I would prefer to do like Talik suggests, so we can see better who are at the back of the camp, before we decide to approach openly. I want to destroy their operation as well as anyone else, but we have no idea of even their number." It was hard for Inanah to contemplate a plan of open approach when everything in her life had been targeted always towards a careful scouting before making plans.

Fleur agrees. "Myself, miss Glibhammer and mr Hasan should be able to take the center, and miss Aisha, you can provide long-distance support as well, I take it, with your arcane abilities?"

As she speaks, she unhooks her shield from her back and lifts the mace from her belt, grabbing it firmly in her hand.

Re: Greenest in Flames

The party makes its way into the camp. The lower section appears to be completely deserted. Near the middle of the camp, sitting on the edge of the upper section, the party spots a lone woodsman skinning an antelope. He looks glances up and looks directly at the main group, then goes back to work on the animal.

Sensing no hostility from the man, Fleur lowers her weapons slightly, though keeps them in her hands still.

"Hail, stranger. Strange place to be skinning your prey, is it not?" she calls out to him.

Re: Greenest in Flames

Inanah had done as planned, taking right flank and keeping hidden with her bow at the ready. She went around the woodsman without showing herself, although she had signaled back that she had seen someone.

She tensed when she saw Fleur approaching the man, but kept her eyes mostly outwards, so she could see if anyone else was coming, since one man shouldn't pose much of a threath.

Fleur expected a response but.. Not that. Kind of flabberghasted, she looks to the others with her, at a loss for words.

Aisha followed at a distance, safe enough to allow Fleur and still be able to provide backup. The voice in her head was itching to set something ablaze but the Zakharan focused on the plan, while watching the surroundings for any allies of the man who might lie in ambush.

Fleur continues.

"Well, excuse my surprise, but you don't seem very concerned about the fact that there was a massive army that attacked the nearby town of Greenest here mere hours ago. I don't suppose you know something about that?"

She takes care not to let her eyes go astray to the ones on her flanks, which would possibly give away their positions or spook the man. Though the man seemed.. Relaxed, in lack of better words.

Fleur furrows her brows at the man. He seems just a bit too strange.

Can I roll an Insight here to perhaps gain some intel on his body language, to see if he's just uncaring or if he's nervous about hiding something, along those lines?

Seeing the stranger was covered by the rest of the group Talik moved off to the left away from them and towards the caves.

This man could be a trap to keep their attention while others came up behind them so he decided it better safe than sorry to go check out the area for possible ambush

Becoming little frustrated with the delay and the risks of being in the open, Inanah came out of cover enough to use her magic to make a suggestion to Fleur  Then she returned to making sure that nobody would sneak on them from her flank.

Fleur is unable to get a good sense of the hunter's intentions, but he doesn't appear nervous.

There is no sign of anyone else in the camp. Whatever had been happening at the back near the large cave has ceased, and everything is quiet.

Fleur narrows her eyes, as she judges the man's intentions. Her eyes go ever so slightly over to where she expected Inanah to be, without uncovering her position.

"We're going to investigate that cave, but we've got our eyes on you." she says, as she motions to Isolde, Hasan and Aisha. She then advances past him, quite close, to spur a reaction. "If we find that you're involved with the army that was here, we'll come back for you."

Re: Greenest in Flames

As Fleur talked to the man, Aisha watched intently, a hasty move from him would cause a reaction from her. It did indeed, feel odd to see him not bothered at all by the intrusion. She would have expected for the man to get agitated being threatened as he was, his calm indicated he was not alone and whomever was backing him up, he trusted. The Zakharan bit her lip, what if the backup was a dragon?

The sha'ir raised an eyebrow at the cocky answer. "I have a bad feeling about dis." she said to nobody in particular.

"Sir," she began, "Sir, may I ask where your companions are?" Aisha asked, walking closer until she was about 30 feet away from the man.
