[Game Information] House Rules

Counterattacks

Counterattacks as a reaction are a problem since they can be used to automatically inflict stress on the opponent without him having the option to resist.  That rarely makes narrative sense either, so instead we're going to implement the following rule:

Reaction Effect die can only be used to create an asset
The asset created represents the Hero (or Villain) learning to resist/dodge/adapt to a particular opponent's attacks, and can be used only on defense.   Like any asset, it remains until the end of the scene.

Changing Stress

A Plot Point may not be used to shift stress from one track to another

Buying Opportunities

To speed up combat, assume The Watcher buys all opportunities rolled by the players (all dice coming up as '1'). Your hero will only get 1 PP, no matter how many opportunities you rolled (but more opportunities = a bigger die added to the doom pool)

Max PP

Maximum PP at any given time is limited to '5'.  Use it or lose it!

[Game Information] Milestones

Milestones

The number of times a milestone may be achieved during a particular phase is as follows:

First milestone: once per scene, 1 xp award
Second milestone: once per act, 3 xp award
Final milestone: once per event, 10 xp award.  After achieving the final milestone you may select a new milestone track for your character

[Game Information] Characteristics

Characteristics

The affiliation dice (Team, Buddy, Solo) from the core book are replaced with three characteristics: Prowess, Wits, and Willpower.  Characteristics are your Hero's base attributes, before your powers and training are added on top.

Use the Prowess characteristic for anything physical: when making or defending from a physical attack, athletic checks, and movement powers.

Use the Wits characteristic when making or resisting a mental attack, perception rolls, and for relevant skill checks (science, tech, etc)

Use Willpower when making or resisting a psychic attack, and for skill checks like Menace or Psych
