I actually moved over next to Eric on the other side of Carver, so I have a clear shot to the crossbow bitch. I think?

Oh, I somehow missed that. If you did so then yeah, you can shoot her without penalty if you want - keeping in mind that she has a pretty high Dex, which translate to high AC.

and since I’m rolling absolutely shit that means I miss, again. Me and Farrah can’t hit a thing it seems, but I have no excuse besides terrible luck :/

...mind if I take the roller out and Office Space it?  Apparently it has no sense of drama.

Ouch. That feels so horrible.

Wait, is that even possible? You get your Dexterity bonus and your own Inspire bonus to the attack roll - that should be a +4 total, shouldn't it be?

If you're firing into darkness, sadly yes you do; 50%, so roll 1d2 and miss on a 2.

Ugh, I'm hating this. It was really so perfect; I couldn't believe it when all the rolls lined up just right for that to happen. But I suppose that it is what it is.

I'm not entirely sure which icons are which on the map - are there currently any enemies remaining in my darkness? I think they're all outside it now, right? Pity I can't use a Move action to move it around...well, that's a Talent to consider for later, I suppose :D.

OOC: Yes, I haven't updated the map yet but there is really no one in your area of darkness anymore, so you might as well just drop it. :)

Right then, let's wrap this battle up.

Actually, can the darkness persist for another round? Grumblejack's in it at the moment and he's only got 10 HP left thanks to that crit, and since he makes for a pretty big target i'd like to keep that 50% miss chance on him for a little bit longer.

Just to be on the safe side. It's hard to carry an ogre, and if he goes down i can't get across due to being unable to hold the rope.

Edit: Also, not like the 5 would hit, but Gruse doesn't get 50% miss chance since he can see ^^;

Grumblejack also has 14 CON, so he'd likely stabilize long before dying even if he was brought down, and either way, Dryssa could fed him a healing berry and get him back up easily enough.

Luckily, there is no need to choose - Grumblejack isn't in the patch of darkness that was created by Nothing, but rather in that which Cetaen created, so Nothing can dismiss her darkness without removing the cover from Grumblejack. And Cetaen's darkness is been mantained without concentration but rather through having paid 1 SP (you can tell by seeing how he used both move and standard actions both in the turns following its creation), so it'll last for one minute, which is 10 rounds, of which only two went by so far.

Unrelated but highly annoying to me, I'm having browser problems - some sites are getting blocked at random while others are just fine, this very site suddenly went offline in-between writing this message and posting it and I can't see the character avatars, and generally I'm needing to clean all cookies after closing Google Chrome before I can restart it so that it works for, as I said, just a handful of minutes. Does anybdy who actually understand computers can help me solve this, keeping in mind that any explanation would need to be coached like you would for a 5-years-old?

Have you tried running Malwarebytes?

http://www.malwarebytes.com

From what you're describing, it sounds like something's trying to activate and is blocked, but that cancels the loading of the webpage in the process. Since it happens at random times on random pages, odds are it's something on your comp.

The only difference between the free and paid version is that the free version only offers after the fact scanning, but the scanning itself and cleanup are the same. Run that and if i'm right, it should run into something in your temp internet files folder somewhere.

Can't download it? Not good. What antivirus do you have installed? Maybe run that?

Also, you're running Google Chrome right? Try seeing if you have an extension active that's really a virus. Go to settings->more tools->extensions and delete anything that looks unfamiliar.

Everything will look unfamiliar to me, I suspect - as I said, I have absolutely zero understanding of programming and such.

Could you make suggestions for me over what I should look for?

Well, maybe just anything then. If you see an extension, try to delete it--if you've never installed any, anything will be suspect.

Well, I managed to downlad the Malwarebyte thing and the scan found 36 things to remove, which I now have. Hopefully that'll solve it - although it seems like the program is a two-week-trial thing.

That's for the premium stuff--you can always run a scan with Malwarebytes, but the Premium subscription will scan constantly and block malicious websites, pop-ups, or downloads; as well as auto-scanning daily. The free version is perfectly good, you just need to remember to scan your computer every week or so.

Also 36 yikes. Hopefully that does fix things!

Yeah, if the scan found something, that'd do it. Be sure to run it again just in case, some malware tends to redownload itself. You should get 0 things to remove then, and that would be a sign the problem has gone away.

And don't worry about the two-week trial thing. As Carmen said, the two week premium is just for the active scans, i.e. intercepting stuff before it gets on your computer. The passive scans (the scans you tell it to do) will continue to work, and after the two weeks it should give you the choice between upgrading for $$$ and reverting to the free version, so no need to hit the installers.

36'ish may look like a lot, but it is actually pretty common for an infected PC. Single digits are usually stuff that's made it into your temp internet files, but is too incomplete or hasn't activated. I've helped people with PCs that were into the hundreds in terms of hits, as there is malware out there that will open browser tabs to other infected sites to increase the infection levels.

In reply to Adrika (msg # 53):

I did two scans immediately, it's what I always do with CCleaner (which I've had for a while), so it seemed natural to have this one too go again after I deleting everything from the first scan. The second didn't found anything, and the PC does seems marginally faster (not that it was slow before, it still opened stuff within a second, but it's almost instantaneous now and it wasn't before), so probably all is good for now.
