Ideally, I would agree with you, and will try to reorganize skill points. Elisabeth's bio includes some pre-med, so she has some Medicine.

Morning folks, I'll be your resident pew-pew artist with sidelines in shaking and snooping.

Working on a portrait now and I'll get on my stats etc when I have more than my phone to work from.

My Mages usually begin with Gear - 6KY, so public transit could work for Elisabeth.

Alas, the 5E Rules as Written don't always agree with the Examples. For example, p.206 has sentence #3 say, "The maximum damage healable with the First Aid skill is equal to the skill's rating." That seems like the definition of a 'limit' to me, so one could use 'pre-Edge'.

That is not 'rating', as if to include a medkit, but 'skill'. So, even with medkit 6 and logic 6, the healing would seem to be capped at 1 with skill @ 1.

I might be able to scratch up the cash for a vehicle if we absolutely need it, but I haven't decided yet.

I'm almost 100% certain that the medkit's rating is added to your limit.  But I don't have my book on me since I'm on mobile.

It's just one more of the frustrating divergences in SR Rules.

P.450 for wireless medkits states that it can operate itself with a dicepool of Medkit Rating x 2 and a limit equal to its rating.

Yeah but I'm fairly certain that it adds to your limit regardless.  Again I'm not near my book but take a look above the bit about wireless, as I think it's just in the text for the medkit?  I want to say right about where they're talking about the size?

Also, medkits do add their rating to the limit of the First Aid skill as per page 450 of SR5.

They add their rating to the dice pool when it is wireless.

Excellent news mate, thanks!  Shadowrun really does have some absolutely fantastic things in its supplements.

And yeah, that's what I thought, but it's good to have it confirmed.  Like I said, just have it at one, and you'll likely be just fine.

As an aside, if anyone wants to sit down and hammer out a connection, let me know!  I find it's easier for runners to come into the game having a reason to trust one another.  Plus I'm always a sucker for shared backstory.

So, Medkit Rating X 2 is mostly a better number for me than First Aid 1 + logic + Medkit.

Assuming 4 hits - Threshold 2 = an average of two Healing per application.

However, if I fail the First Aid + Logic[Mental] (2) Test, then I fail at First Aid. And, that test does not include negatives from the Table on p.208.

It's awfully quiet. Does anyone need help with character creation? Elisabeth needs just finishing touches, and I'll be asking for input from the other players shortly.

While Mages are my favored characters, I have a lot of experience with the Priority Table, through Qualities, and on to Skills. And, while Mages' Gear needs are vastly different from other character types, I often can provide ideas.

I've played every Mission in Neo-Tokyo so far, and my Chicago character will retire with around 900K.

Appreciate it, but I'm pretty close to being done myself.  Finishing up Siphon's gear here tomorrow, then I'll be good to go!

Busy couple of days this week, but we're off Monday (yay teacher!), so I should have plenty of time this weekend to finish it all up.
