Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Aryk swapped to his bow, reluctant to close the gap with the demon; instead keeping his distance with his weakened state.  Luckily his earlier manifested powers assisted him in his hit, and he was further assisted by another power, sapping his enemy while feeding himself as he struck true with the empowered bow.

Will save: 1d20 (15) + 13 = 28.  Save.

Swap to Starbow as a move action.
Manifest 'Strength Of My Enemy', for 15 points.  Successful hit siphons 5 points of STR from enemy to self.

Attack with starbow; 1d20 (17) + 18 + 22 = 57.  Hit.
1d8(2) +8 = 10 Damage; counts as good to bypass DR.; reduce STR by 5.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Rictor took every advantage he could from the demon being blinded, and took careful aim in the softer portion of the hide while the gargantuan creature would not be able to avoid his deadly arrows. The first one was a masterful shot with buried two arrows simultaneously in one of the demon’s eyes.

Qvan Ibn Hamid rolled 8 using 1d20.  Confirm crit.  .
23:12, Today: Qvan Ibn Hamid rolled 67,20,13 using 5d20,5d8,5d6 with rolls of 19,10,3,18,17,5,3,7,3,2,3,4,1,1,4.    Rictor ranged full attack: +27(x2)/+27/+22/+17/+12 (1d8+13 plus 1d6 fire).

Ok if I got this right, that’s 72 damage from the critical shot, and a further 32 damage from two hits, the other two arrows miss.
I’ve rolled for fire damage but it’s all resisted.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Qvan had picked he shape of a blue dragon, mostly because if his familiarity with these creatures — it was the dragon he had studied most.

flew down to flank the demon facing Musa and released his draconic breath on the monstrous behemoth. A lightning bolt cracked right through the creature, leaving a patch of scorched hide on either side of its rotund body.

He was now close enough to Musa for the holy man to call on his stupendous healing powers.

Qvan Ibn Hamid rolled 63 using 12d8.  Dragon breath.
That’s 63 electricity damage, with reflex DC30 for half.
He should resist 10 of that so 53 (or 22 on a successful save)

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Seeing that the others had penned the monster in, Zhira charged back in once more, slamming into the creature before slashing at it, making it bounce against the wall of force before slashing at it again, fury in her eyes as she tried to truly take the thing down.

OOC: Ok, so for my move action I'm going to use Shove on the already wounded daemon.

I'm moving from AB17 all the way up to L18; that's a total of 80 ft of movement, so I definitely get the 1 Tension point for moving more than 10 ft in a round, bringing me up to a total of 6; I'll point out for reference that my maximum possible amount of Tension is 10.

Musa, this leaves me within 30 ft of Qvan and Aryk both, although, since neither of them moved, they are not within 30 ft of each other. Which I believe means you need to pick only one of them to use Heal on alongside me - assuming that's what you want to do, that is.

Shove is a touch attack that uses my weapon's full bonuses (that's the +46), so it only misses on a 1 (honestly, Zhira very rarely misses on anything other than a 1 even when it's not a touch attack).

11:03, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 51 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 5.  Shove (Touch Attack)

That's not a 1, so the enemy takes 18 shove damage, which is bludgeoning, thus subjected to DR and reduced to just 8 damage. That's still damage inflicted to the enemy though, so I go up to 7 total Tension here, and if it wasn't already Battered, it would now gain the condition.

Next I'm going to unleash my Standard Action Vital Strike, once again without using Power Attack:

11:11, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 50 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 4.  Standard Vital Strike Attack

With the monster blinded at AC 30, that's an easy hit, so here's the damage:

11:13, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 111 using 20d6+39 with rolls of 2,2,5,6,5,3,5,1,6,5,3,3,5,3,4,3,1,1,3,6.  Standard + Vital Strike damage

That bypasses DR, and of course, in addition to it I also inflict +5 Bleed Damage. Then I bull-rush with Follow-Through:

11:15, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 67 using 1d20+60 with rolls of 7.  Follow Through Bull Rush.

Which is a very uninspiring roll, to be honest. However, I do believe that, if being Blinded means the daemon loses 10 AC, then its DEX mod should be 8; combined with being battered, that should make its CMD 48, meaning I have a 19 advantage... that's 1 short of adding an extra dice to the Hammer damage, which is annoying, but whatever. GM, if I have the enemy's CMD wrong (because I misunderstood how much they lost from missing the DEX bonus, or maybe because Aryk's actions reduced their STR, and thus their CMD as well - I'm not very knowledgeable on psionics), just let me know.

Anyway, 19 is the same as 15, meaning +3 damage dice, meaning a total of four times 2d8, so 8d8 in total. Rolling:

11:21, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 32 using 8d8 with rolls of 6,3,8,3,6,2,3,1.  Hammer damage.

Once again, this is bludgeoning damage, so it's reduced by DR to 22 total damage. Note that, once again, the Force Wall takes this damage as well, although once again, I have my doubts about that doing anything to it.

Also, the successful bull-rush extends the battered condition to the end of my next turn once again, so it'll stay battered in case the others want to take advantage.

Next, I'm spending 3 Tension point (reducing my total back to 4) to launch an extra attack as a Swift Action; this is naturally not a Vital Strike, but otherwise it hits at my full bonus and with all other bonuses.

11:24, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 59 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 13.  Swift Action Attack.

And that's an hit, so rolling for damage again:

11:27, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 64 using 8d6+33 with rolls of 3,3,6,4,2,1,6,6.  Swift Action Attack Damage.

This once again bypasses DR, and has another +5 Bleed damage added to it.

To summarize, that's a total of 215 damage, which might hopefully be enough to cut the thing down, because otherwise, I'm now withing striking range, and that's not going to be pleasant if this thing survived it all.

In any case, that's as much as I could do this turn; I believe Musa is the only one left now! :)

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Musa holds his hands up the sun in supplication. In a brilliant flash, the sun's healing rays flash down upon himself and the others. In an instant, flesh and blood recover, broken bones and cut skin alike fixed. Even the supernatural weakness caused by striking the Daemon is healed.

Standard action: Cast Mass Heal. Everyone regains 190 HP, and ability damage (such as the strength damage for hitting the Daemon) is removed.
The olethrodaemon should be blinded until the end of its upcoming turn, and if it ends its turn next to me, it is again blinded for at least 1 round.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

ROUND 2

Aryk hadn't had much success really injuring the daemon so far, not with the specific weapon material needed to overcome its innate resistance to physical attacks. So he decided to try his best and mitigate the danger it posed to some degree, siphoning away its strength with one well-aimed shot.

Rictor followed this example, landing two shots with impressive precision as he destroyed one of the large, bulbous eyes of the creature.

Qvan joined his companions back down at their level of elevation, swooping down on massive blue-tinged dragon wings to unleash a devastating breath of his own against the wounded fiend, catching it easily within, blinded as it still was, charring the purplish hide to a deep black.

Seeing the opening that Musa's blinding radiance granted everyone as well, Zhira sped forward to crash once more into the olethrodaemon, smashing it against the invulnerable wall of force behind it. Two mighty strikes with her blade followed, cutting deep wounds into the flesh of the monster and causing dark blood to rain down from the sky upon the gathering gnolls below who witnessed this brutal spectacle. Unfortunately, the fiend was still alive.

Musa was once more ready to grant his powerful divine blessings to heal his severely injured new allies, the warm golden glow washing over them, closing wounds and restoring their broken bodies.

ROUND 3

The injured daemon was quivering now, having suffered many a wound from these strangers who had appeared to suddenly and proved to be much more of a danger than originally anticipated. But the unspoken threat of the Jackal Prince of Famine was still lingering in its mind, so it remained where it was and continued to struggle against its foes.

The choice of who to remove first was not an easy one. Musa's brilliant form and potent healing abilities were certainly a high priority, but Zhira's deadly attacks would spell doom for it as well. In the end the daemon decided to try wound both. First it assaulted the towering giant next to it with bite attacks, claw strikes and one final goring thrust with only the very last attempt managing to connect with its target. Next, a barely visible gray-green ray sprang forth from one eye, hitting Musa squarely in the chest. Where the spell touched the monk's body, skin and flesh started to dissolve and disappear.

The other daemon flew around the invisible wall that so rudely had blocked its breath weapon mere moments ago, positioning itself further north. Then it open wide its jaws and  emitted a terrible, soul-chilling scream which threatened to end the life of each individual party member right then and there.

Zhira, thanks for calculating the CMD your self, I forgot to update this stat! But, as you have pointed out, the reduction in Strength also affects CMD, bringing you to a +21 over instead of the +19 you assumed. So you are free to roll that one extra damage die if you wish.

Musa, as the daemon rolls the save at the end of your turn, the 1-round duration will be complete at the end of your next turn as well. This means that Olethro #1 can see during its own turn again (having spent last turn blinded). The follow-up save against blinded was successful this time (even though it came rather close yet again with a natural 3...)

Olethrodaemon #1 casts a quickened Disintegrate defensively, automatically succeeding on the concentration check!

Everyone, be aware that both daemons have a permanent Unholy Aura effect on them, so if a good creature succeeds on a melee attack against them, the offending attacker takes 1d6 points of Strength damage (Fortitude DC 29 negates)!

The entire party is up next!

Olethrodaemon #1 attacks Zhira with 33,33,37,39,34,38 & 47 vs. AC, one hit for 28 piercing damage!

Olethrodaemon #1 makes a ranged touch attack against Musa with 41 vs. AC, Disintegrate would hit for 142 damage, or 13 if Musa makes a successful DC 25 Fort save!

Olethrodaemon #2 casts Wail of the Banshee that would affect everyone. I will not bother asking you to make saves, as I reckon Zhira will quickly take care of the spell!

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

When she saw that the last, goring attack was about to impale her, Zhira leaned out of the way almost reflexively, before suddenly turning, her eyes glowing as she saw the terrifyingly powerful magic being gathered, and swung her sword to cut through the threads of death being woven together as she growled in fury:

"Not on my watch!"

OOC: Indeed, I will use Impossible Answer to counter the spell - and with my last level up, this is now a free action (only usable once per round though) for me.

13:12, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 45 using 1d20+25 with a roll of 20.  Impossible Answer vs Wail of Banshee

So, 45 means that the spell will be interrupted and counterspelled if the caster level is 34 or less. Considering that for non-casters the Caster Level is generally their total HD, I don't know if that will work against a thing that is this though...

Also, since the gore was apparently a roll of 47, but not a critical hit (if it was a critical and I misunderstood, say so - I have a different ability to counter those), I will spend 3 of my 4 Tension point to increase my AC from 45 to 48 (again, free action usable out of turn, and the bonus is "dodge" typed), which should keep me from taking any damage.

EDIT: also, the additional damage from the bullrush is 12 (roll below); I hope that brings us a bit closer to victory! :)

13:39, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 12 using 2d8.  Hammer damage (extra).

So, how does that goes?

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Qvan took note of the condition of the Demon, and turned his attention to the second one. He was a decent fight in his own right, but against such formidable opponent he thought best to leave this to the martial professionals and focus on facilitating their deed.

He abandoned his draconic shape and flew away as his shape settled on that of a flying statue mixing leonine and human features with angelic wings. His face was still very recognisable as Qvan with his signature moustache. He retreated behind the second wall and once the second Demon was within reach, produced a bone-shattering roar that could shake even the fiercest warrior to their core...

Rictor focused on what he did best, steadying himself on the saddle to unleash a new barrage of arrows against the wounded demon, hoping to finish it off.

Qvan Ibn Hamid rolled 46,16,10 using 5d20,5d8,5d6 with rolls of 11,5,5,17,8,6,3,2,2,3,1,2,4,2,1.  Rictor ranged full attack: +27(x2)/+27/+22/+17/+12 (1d8+13 plus 1d6 fire) (+2 favoured enemy not included)

This hits:
AC40 for 38 damage
AC34 for 16 damage
AC29 for 15 damage
AC36 for 15 damage
AC22 for 16 damage

Darn, the first roll was much better but I forgot to tick "record each die"...

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

ROUND 3

Even though Zhira only paid half a mind to the goring attack of her chosen target, she twisted out of the horns way with practiced ease and then focused on the onrushing deadly wail. Her blade flashed once through empty air and almost immediately the keening faded to blessed silence once more, only interrupted by the wind.

Qvan changed his assumed form yet again, shrinking visibly and taking on the shape of a majestic winged sphinx. He circled around the Wall of Force and bellowed a mighty roar at the second demon, trying to scare it if at all possible. The fiend was left unaffected, alas, though maybe a bit confused at the little fluffy beast trying to play tough with it.

Rictor had yet to move throughout this fight, staying rooted in place where he had appeared and loosed arrow barrage after arrow barrage at the demon, slowly but surely whittling it down to the bone.

Zhira, the daemons have a listed CL of 20, so your counter is working perfectly fine.

Everyone, be aware that both daemons have a permanent Unholy Aura effect on them, so if a good creature succeeds on a melee attack against them, the offending attacker takes 1d6 points of Strength damage (Fortitude DC 29 negates)!

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

His allies healed, Musa returns to action. He shrugs off the daemons spell, laughing at its ineffectiveness. His body a blazing furnace of light, he flickers around from place to place, each time lashing out with his blade as he furiously tries to finish off the foe. He grunts in pain as its aura saps his strength, but refuses to allow it to stop him.

I made the fort save vs disintegrate:
11:32, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 38 using 1d20+19.  fort save.
Olethro 1 should again be blinded for one round, having ended its turn next to me.
Full round action to use dimensional dervish, Daemon doesn't get an AoO when blinded (also I auto-succeed the casting defensively).

I will direct all attacks against Olethro 1 unless or until it dies, then teleport over to Olethro 2 to attack it. All attacks against Olethro 1 should have flanking, but I forgot to include the bonus on the first attack. All attacks after the first one will have flanking against Olethro 2 (I flank with myself thanks to dimensional dervish), and if I may any attacks against O2, I will end my turn on L8.

Since O1 is blinded, it should have an AC of 30, right?

11:33, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 35,32,27 using 1d20+33,2d6+26,1d20+22.  attack, damage, fort save (if needed).
11:34, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 5 using 1d6.  strength damage.
11:35, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 45,29,31 using 1d20+33,2d6+23,1d20+22.  #2 attack, damage, fort save (if needed) - remembering flanking now.
11:35, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 33,34,42 using 1d20+28,2d6+23,1d20+22.  #3 attack, damage, fort save (if needed).
11:36, Today: Musa Agasi rolled 28,34,40 using 1d20+23,2d6+23,1d20+22.  #4 attack, damage, fort save (if needed).

Should be 65 damage after DR, and I take 5 points of strength damage. The third attack only hits against the blinded daemon.

ROUND 3

While Aryk was changing his weapon and manifesting his psychic powers around the blade, was Musa ending the unholy existence of the injured fiend with a flurry of radiant punches.. Olethrodaemons were feared and respected by their own kind for good reason and it had taken a lot of effort to even bring one of them down with their combined might. Now a second one awaited to be dealt with.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Zhira watched the first daemon be consumed by holy fire with visible satisfaction, before swiftly turning toward the other and shouting, aiming her Scmitar at it:

"You better be ready, big fat bastard, because I'm going to take you apart just like your pal here; you're worth nothing!"

Then she charged in a curve, almost giddy at her ability to run on air as if it was concrete, before slamming into the monster and striking it with another of her powerful slashes.

OOC: so, as my opening, I'll expend my Martial Focus as a Swift Action to challenge Daemon 2.

Just to make sure that's not missed, that means the monster gets +2 to attacks rolls (not AC or CMD) against me, but it also gets -6 to the same against everybody else; hopefully that'll help keep people safe. In addition, now if it casts something while I'm next to it, it can't just get away with casting defensively - it actually needs to beat the concentration DC (keeping in mind that Bleed damage applies to that), because if it fails, I get an Attack of Opportunity. And as a Giant I can make 11 of those per turn, so I'm gonna punish every failed Concentration Check that happens while I threaten the thing. And Challenge lasts 22 turns, so that's something the thing will need to worry about the whole rest of the battle.

Next, I'll be using my move action to Shove. First, I'll move from M18 to F11; that's a total of 65 ft movement, so I get 1 Tension point for it (raising my Tension Pool total to 2), and roll the Touch Attack for Shove:

18:19, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 57 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 11.  Shove (Touch Attack).

That's a nice hit, so the monster takes damage accordingly, as follows:

18:39, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 33 using 4d6+18 with rolls of 2,2,6,5.  Shove Damage.

And since that's damage, I take 1 Tension point and add it to my pool for a Total of 3, as well as restoring my Martial Focus. The enemy is also Battered until this turn ends.

And then we go into my Standard Action Vital Strike, no power attack:

18:43, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 48 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 2.  Standard Vital Strike Attack.

Would you look at that, it's a hit! ^_^ Zhira is ridiculous. Anyway, successful hit means that, first of all, we roll for damage:

18:46, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 97 using 20d6+39 with rolls of 2,5,1,2,3,3,6,1,5,1,1,2,3,5,3,5,4,2,1,3.  Standard + Vital Strike damage.

To that I get to add +5 Bleed Damage, which means in total this was a 102 damage hit; a bit on the low side I think.

Anyway, successful Standard Attack hit means I get to Follow-Through into a Bull-Rush:

18:49, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 61 using 1d20+60 with rolls of 1.  Follow Through Bull Rush.

And... it was unavoidable that I would roll a natural 1 eventually, wasn't it? That's disappointing, but I guess it is what it is. It also means that the daemon is not Battered on its turn, since I need the Bull-rush to succeed to extend Battered past the end of my own turn. So... that's it for my turn, I guess.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

As the first demon dies and sinks to the ground, Aryk rounds on the second, using his gift to anticipate it's movements and defenses in teh split second before he strikes with his blade, charged with the power of his mind.  His blade strikes true, sinking into the flesh of the daemon as it pulls life-force from the unholy thing into Aryk, strengthening him further.  It's sickening aura fails to gain traction against the psion, and it's effects are ignored by him as he readies another strike.

Move to L12.
Manifest 'Inevitable Strike' for 8 points (+18 to hit).
Attack O-Daemon 2.
2 points to charge weapon.
1d20(3) + 38 = 41.  Hit.  Attacks are aligned Good to bypass DR.
1d8(8) + 1d6(4) fire + 2d6(6,2) + 13 = 29 damage.
O-Daemon has 7 points of STR siphoned to Aryk.
Fort Save: 1d20(18) + 13.  Aryk passes.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

ROUND 3

With the first daemon finally vanquished, Zhira focused her deadly attention on the second vile creature behind her. Racing across the open sky, she barrelled into the bulbous mass of the fiend and cut one deep slash in its scaly hide, leaving it reeling from the impact and bleeding from the wound.

The Olethrodaemon flew backwards, uncaring about leaving itself open for more attacks from the nearby enemies, and unleashed a second breath of soul-stealing energy. The black smoke billowed out from its gaping jaws and almost instantly enveloped everyone besides Zhira and Aryk.

Olethro #2 provokes AoO from both Musa and Zhira!

The entire party is up next!

Qvan, Rictor and Musa need to make a DC 29 Reflex saving throw, taking 135 negative energy damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one!

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Zhira leapt at the monster, slashing at it with all of her strength; she then tried to leverage the face her blade had entered the monster's body to force it back closer to the others, but her blade, slick with blood, slid out of the wound, making the attempt ineffective. The warrior woman growled in annoyance at that, and quickly slashed at the beast again, to keep it from fleeing.

OOC: so, first thing, I'm spending my Martial Focus to use my Guardian Patrol ability, which expands my threatened area by 25 ft; in addition, anything that has to face a Concentration Check within my threatened area must beat a DC that is 8 higher - meaning it's that much harder for them to cast.

Next I'm using Locust Pounce to move from E12 to H9 and then attack as a standard action; the movement itself is 30 ft, so that's 1 Tension point for me, raising my total Tension to 4. As for the attack roll, here it is:

21:22, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 54 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 8.  Standard Vital Strike Attack.

I believe that's a hit. So, next I roll damage:

21:23, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 112 using 20d6+39 with rolls of 3,4,6,5,2,1,5,6,1,2, 5,3,4,1,5,5,3,1,5,6.  Standard + Vital Strike damage.

And, of course, with this also goes an extra +5 Bleed Damage. It also means that, since I inflicted damage, I get 1 Tension point and my total goes up to 5.

Then, since I succeeded with a standard action attack, I can use Follow-Through, but this time, I'm not going for a Bull-Rush; instead, my goal is to Reposition the monster. And here is the roll:

21:32, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 61 using 1d20+60 with rolls of 1.  Follow Through Reposition.

...are my dice cursed, or something? This is the second times I've fumbled on my Follow-Through maneuver.

Ah well, it happens. I suppose I'll channel the annoyance into paying 3 Tension point (bringing my pool back to 2), to at least get some more damage in... assuming the die roller collaborates, that is. So, here's the roll:

21:36, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 57 using 1d20+46 with rolls of 11.  Swift Action Attack.

And at the very least this one is an hit, so let's see how much damage I'm getting:

21:37, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 61 using 8d6+33 with rolls of 3,3,4,4,2,5,3,4.  Swift Action Attack Damage.

And that's all for my turn; I was hoping to move the monster so we had it surrounded and would all be able to give each other flanking bonuses, but the die roller disagreed. I'm sorry about that.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Rictor took the brunt of the wave of negative energy this time around, but it did not keep him from carrying on. He did not slow down and released arrow after arrow on the flying monstrosity, piercing the tough hide a few times.

Just realised Rictor can activate Haste...
Rolled 23 on the reflex save.
Qvan Ibn Hamid rolled 45,22 using 6d20,6d8 with rolls of
1,15,1,14,9,5,
1,1,8,1,7,4.  Rictor ranged full attack + haste: +27(x2)/+27/+27/+22/+17/+12 (1d8+13) +2 favoured enemy, +1 higher ground

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

Qvan has not fatigued his repertoire of possible forms yet, and while he had yet to find his momentum and the prefect form to fight these daemons, he knew a couple of things he could try.

He abandoned his stone-like leonine form to transform into a large powerful horse with four pairs of legs, and rode forward and upward to be higher than the hovering monster. With a wide maw, he released a ray of pure rainbow light on the daemon, striking him with pure prismatic energy.

The daemon was hit by a ray of indigo light which went straight to its head.

Success on reflex save (and resist 10)
 change shape to Sleipnir
 Move to above Rictor
Use Breath Weapon to release a Prismatic Spray
Rolled 6, which means he’s hit by an Indigo Ray
This create an Insanity effect (will DC30 negates)

Musa dodges the worst of the negative energy, and teleports himself after the daemon. Seeking to end the fight quickly, he swings with all of his might. Despite his efforts, his blade does little more than minor ineffective chips on the foe's tough hide.

Pass my reflex save, attack of opportunity misses (on a nat 1).
Full round Action: Dimensional dervish, teleport to the other side of Zhira for flanking bonus and then full attack. All of the attacks miss unless I have some bonus other than flanking.

Chapter 2 - Oblivion and Sand

ROUND 3

Zhira and Rictor continued their physical assault on the second guardian 'angel' hovering over the ancient ruins of Shadun, with mixed results. While Zhira was reasonable effective in her giant form, Rictor's arrow barrages mostly only resulted in tiny pinpricks on the iron-hard hide of the monster, making his role in this battle less impactful than he was used to.

Qvan changed shape yet again, this time transforming into a fabled creature believed to be descended from the mystical steeds of gods themsselves. The imposing form of a mighty horse with eight powerful legs, hooves leaving shimmering prints in the air that quickly faded to mist, soared up and above Rictor to retaliate with its own breath weapon in the form of a multi-colored rainbow.

Musa was able to get out of the way of the incoming lethal smoke just in time to not suffer too greatly from its life-draining effects. With a mere though he then translocated himself behind the daemon and attacked it with a series of powerful punches. Though this time his falcata did not cut all the way through the hard shell that was the fiend's flesh.

Zhira, did you forget to roll the AoO from the movement of the daemon during its turn?

Qvan, would you roll the caster level check to overcome the SR of the Olethro? In case you make it, your target got a 33 on the save, barely making it.

Waiting for Aryk!

Aenarion:
Zhira, did you forget to roll the AoO from the movement of the daemon during its turn?

...it really seems that I did, as it happens. Is that only one attack?

17:42, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 53 using 1d20+46.  Attack of Opportunity.

17:43, Today: Zhira al-Darea rolled 67 using 8d6+33.  Attack of Opportunity damage.

That should be a hit for 67 damage +5 bleed, assuming I didn't make any mistake.

OOC: Seeing as each 5-foot square moved triggers an AoO, and the daemon moved five spaces, I guess that would be four more attacks before it was out of range. That last breath weapon was dearly paid for then, but it didn't really anticipate Zhira being able to take advantage of this unprotected movement multiple times within the few moments it took to get away.

OOC: It's probably worth noting that I only activated my "+25 ft range" this turn; that's AFTER it moved away. Before that, I only had the normal melee range of a huge creature. So... is that really three more attack rolls? I mean, I'll roll them if you say so, I'm just not sure if that's right - as I said, I have 11 attacks of opportunity per turn in this form so I most certainly can take advantage of anything it provokes, I just didn't think it would be that many.
