Re: Turn 9 - Seg 12 - Results
Sarajen - The old thief is overcome by thoughts of food...mmmm, roast lizard...crap...he misses his hand-hold! Managing to somersault on the cable, somehow Sarajen regain his position with only an increased heartbeat to indicate the slip-up had ever happened.
bad, bad climbing rolls yet gravity did not get involved too much. Sarajen maintains his current progress but does not advance
Syssiah - with a cry of abandon, Syssiah attempts to leap upon the spearman's back but the mercenary is wary of the Zamoran's dagger and manages to turn and thwart her in mid-leap.
OCV 5 - 2 for MultiAttack - 1 for Grab = 2, so a roll of 11 hits DCV 2....miss...which means following attacks in multi-attack also miss.
Chang Jun - The Khitai attempts to use his standard martial arts techniques for hand-to-hand with the spear he now wields...but the results are disappointing...
Your power skill is specifically for Kung Fu, not spears so you won't be able to use it with this weapon
Niahm - The Pictish woman thrilled to feel the familiar heft of the spear in her hand. She spun and jabbed at the creature before her..yet...the blow is turned aside.
miss
Ludvik - Ludvik, having espied his route up to his opponent, begins his ascent.
Hastily the Hyperborean climbs the wall of the Pit; under the nose of the mercenary archer no less.
full move, climb
Tiberio - The horsemaster feels the blood seeping from his wound even as he reaches for the wood of the spear shaft embedded in the soil nearby. Pivoting he arcs the weapon up unexpectedly, the mercenary is completely unprepared. The blade of the spear separates wrist from hand...the spearman can no longer claim such title as the weapon and his appendage fall to the red dirt of the Pit. Try as he might, there is no stopping the flow of his life-blood from the stump that remains...
no armor, crit, uncontrolled bleeding...he will be dead in moments, the fight has left him
Marduke - Though the ledge where Chang, Niamh and the a'ghama struggle in battle lies well above the Vanir's head, the length of the creature's tail is such that it swings menacingly nearly to the ground. Grabbing hold to steady it Marduke buries his pick into the thick hide and is gratified to see it poke from the other side. The creature releases a fearsome hiss.
The ledge is 5m up, the tail hangs down 4 meters, pretty much the only thing you could hit on the ground with a hand-weapon like the pick. Treat tail like arm, 1/2 BODY 1/2 STUN, a'ghama will take BODY and STUN from the attack
Amalric - The Nemedian's next throw skips off the archer's leather boot and shin guard to no effect.
hit, no damage
Archer - Shaking his head the bowman takes aim again at Amalric and lets fly but the Nemedian uses his buncker of stones well to shield his body
miss
A'ghama - The meals before it had only annoyed the a'ghama but something below had hurt it. That challenge would be met. With a grinding hiss the creature exits the ledge, down to the floor of the Scree Field to face this red-haired threat. Marduke nearly has his weapon yanked from his hand as the scaled tail whips away. It comes at the Vanir like a rhino, mouth agape. Even with his strength Marduke is unable to turn the beast aside as it envelopes his shoulder with crushing force and tries to bear him to the ground to maul and shake.
hit for 8 BODY 24 STUN before defenses, looks like you'll take 2 BODY 10 STUN, it didn't actually Grab you so you're not restrained
Spearmen - The mercenaries step back from the ledge and return with more spears, planting them in the dirt for each reach. They then look for their next targets.
move to retrieve more spears and return to edge
Slaves - As the a'ghama descends to the Scree Field those wretches who had reach this level wail and attempt to flee back down the ladder. But their brethren ascending block their path and for the moment that way is stalled. Those climbing the walls are undaunted
