Footsteps in the Dark - Turn 4 - Segment 9-12 - Results

Segment 9
Chang Jun - The demon is unable to follow the Khitai's quick leap bringing him behind his opponent.  A hook and roll of his hips brings the monster to the bone covered floor, momentarily dazed.
Impairing Wound, Gidim 31 is Stunned

Segment 12
Syssiah - With the demon blocking the way down, the princess lightly skips across it's prone form, making way for the rest to follow.
half-move, Dodge

Chang Jun - Chang's steely gaze absorbs the scene, the Vanir and Aquilonian continue to hold back the flood.  The torchlight reveals no new nightmares as it extends further down the tunnel where Neferet was dragged screaming.  The sole remaining demon lies momentarily stunned at his feet.  And then he sees Naimh approach....
full phase delay

Naimh - Like a panther come upon a wounded lamb, so the Pict stalked forward, spear in hand.  There is no more mercy in her eyes than that of a jungle cat as she drives the point of her weapon through the creature's arm, hard enough that the bone separates cleanly though the ill-looking ooze that seeps afterwards is anything but clean.
Impairing Wound, creature looses an arm, takes BODY

Marduke - Marduke withdraws into the open space left by his companions ready then the simple-minded creatures close the distance once more.  Once again black ooze covered this work pick of the Red Pit; the creature that it came from stumbling but managing to remain upright from the impact of the blow.
Gidim 21 takes BODY

Tiberio - The horsemaster, always the last to withdraw, joins his norther companion and readies himself.
I'm assuming Tiberio will move with the group but will leave a half-phase delay to allow you to choose his actions

Gidim - The armless demon lets out several clicks and a dull moan, before rolling over and managing to rise to its knees.  There is some comfort to know that such nightmares must feel pain.  The hoard continues to snaps at the group's heels but manages aught for its efforts.
all misses or damage negated

Segment 1-3
Chang Jun - Chang backs further down the tunnel, ready to support the frontline and guard against further incursion from the opposite side
still has full phase delay

Tiberio - Tiberio dispatches the maimed demon

Segment 4
Syssiah - The Zamoran princess makes room for all to move past the narrows and remains vigilant.
half move, Dodge

Niamh - Likewise the Pict remains on guard
half move, half phase delay

Marduke - Marduke passes the narrows and turns to await the press of the demons.  When it comes he deals a wicked scar across the chest of the first to press him.
Gidim 21 takes BODY

Tiberio - Planting himself once more with his companions, the Aquilonian readies for the assault.  As Marduke's strike brings the first attacker to a half Tiberio opens him from crotch to throat.
Impairing Wound, Gidim 21 is dead

Gidim - The creatures are further hampered by the narrow point in the tunnel.  Now only one may press the attack, into the flashing blades and sharp spear points of the group.  The first of their number pays dearly, cut down as soon as it approaches, the remaining appear unperturbed.  Lacking any fear or tactical consideration the demons continue their assault upon the invaders of their dark domain.
Only 1 can approach now and he was killed immediately

The horsemaster drew his stance into a recognizable guard position, shield forward and angled, the scimitar pulled back and low. Looking at the progress the large barbarian made with the pick, looking forward to the narrow as light would permit, having a spear  as back up meant higher odds of defeating a push by the ancient demon-things.

Should any threaten and advance into th enarrow, the scimitar would meet that challenge.

"Niamh, Chang, try to scout ahead. I'll keep the torch in hand for our warriors to defeat the creatures. We need to find a way out, or further if you are really into finding the siblings in the tunnels. But be careful, this place stinks the presence of a sorcerer or worse."

The eyes of the zamoran beauty were like two shining charcoal stones in the darkness, and her fragile figure, collared and leashed, quite inappropriate in such a place in this instant. She hesitated fe seconds, then there was a ripping sound, as she teared off her revealing dress, revealing in the nude. Smiling, she quickly wrapped up the fabric around an old and long femur bone found on the ground, and whispered "Keep your eyes open, but not on me.." and handed the torch of fortune to Niamh.

Move, PER, I just realized the torchlight should have extended 1 more hex, map updated, move Chang to edge

Segment 6
Chang Jun - Taking up a guarded position against further assault, Chang awaits the outcome of the struggle behind him.

Segment 8
Syssiah - Quick witted, the Zamoran makes use of the meager items at her disposal to fashion another brand.
fashion simple torch

Niamh - The Pict takes Syssiah's offering but her savage upbringing in the wild recognizes what the civilized princess does not.  The fibers are untreated and will burn out shortly.   Tiberio used some of the scavenged alcohol soak the torches; unless more is added here the torch may extinguish and leave those carrying it blind in the tunnel
take makeshift torch, move near Chang

Marduke - The mighty Vanir hearkens back to his bondage spent in the Red Pit striking at the large rock above the tunnel.  A glancing blow in his haste, rebounding without effect, but Marduke can feel the solidness of the stone and recognizes it will be no short task to split it.
miss, as you will be focused on digging instead of fighting you'll be at 1/2 DCV

Tiberio - The horsemaster sees Marduke strike at the stone itself rather than trying to dig out the sides to provide means of its quick collapse.  Then there is only time to focus on the demon before him.  His scimitar splits the creatures ribcage, dropping it to its knees before finally pitching forward.  For now the Vanir can remain unthreatened as he continues his excavation.
Impairing Wound - chest, Gidim 22 dead

Gidim - Undaunted.  Unchanged after so many centuries of degradation.  As one falls another enters the light to take its place.  Relentlessly.

It was counter to every armed conflict the Aquilonian had engaged in. The opposite force could break, could lose morale, his side could break and retreat. Never had unending enemy advanced, disregarding tactical position or injury.

Tiberio could not take the position of defense and recover, he had to engage and force the enemy to concentrate on him, to give opportunity to the ice giant to use the tool of former slavery to cause a collapse.

Now his own endurance was beginning to feel the sapping of constant, unflagging assault.
