Born in wales in the United Kingdom, Richard studied Software Engineering at Swansea university. His talents first exhibited themselves in his first year when he was out drinking and suddenly remembered he needed to submit some coursework the next day. He felt the presence of the nearby nightclub's accounts system and was able to gain access to it and from there log into the Unviversity system, finish his coursework and submit it all within a single hour.

He graduated from University at 21 and got a job working for the UK branch of Dejitaruna Chō, a Japanese company specializing in security software but also having several government and defence contracts. He worked there for five years and then decided to get into games development so he quit and set himself up as an indie games developer and spent the next five years writing moderately successful role playing games.

About six months ago he was approached by Sato Riku, A senior exec for the Seattle Dejitaruna Chō who wanted to rehire him on a part time basis to help develop a new suite of home-based security systems for the rich and famous. The job came with a relocation package and a company paid for home in the Chinatown area of seattle. He took the job and has only just arrived here.

Personality:

Richard seems to have a nervous energy about him. He can be a passionate individual and can sometimes come across as intense. However, he is also a kind and open individual with a chivalrous streak. He has both a love of music and of cats.

What do you want out of this game?

I'd like my character to develop and evolve during the course of the game. I like a good plot. I do enjoy romance and so if I can play out a romance between my character and a female character then that would be fun. If that character was Asian then that would be a bonus for me.

I'm thinking maybe the company Richared works for is upo to something dodgy and he could uncover that and find himself in a heap of trouble?

Background:

Born to Jewish American parents Anna and Joseph Isaac on 3rd March 1891. His father worked as a coachman, ferrying customers between the port and inner city of New Orleans. A slightly willowy and vaguely effeminate looking man, his body had some impressive scarring sustained during an accident as a teenager where he became trapped in a burning building. His unemployed mother was a plain looking woman with a bookish nature who enjoyed reading pulp adventure stories and who was a keen scuba diver. Nathan had a fraternal twin brother, Caleb, who unfortunately suffered with mental health, mainly clinical depression.

Nathan lost his parents at the age of 6, when Anna accompanied Joseph on one of his coach runs and the coach overturned, killing them both. Caleb and Nathan were then raised by their Aunt and Uncle. Aunt Emma was a kind and gregarious woman with several close friends. She had unfortunately lost her left eye as a child and despite her apparently cheerful aspect suffered somewhat with bipolar disorder. She worked in a local clothes factory and in her spare time offered up her services as a maid and cleaning lady. This side of her career actually took off so well that eventually she gave up her factory job and ran her own maid and cleaning service which gave the family enough wealth for both Nathaniel and Caleb to be sent off to university.

Uncle Edward was quite a few years older than Emma and was an ex 3rd Class Petty Officer in the Navy. An overweight man who had a serious demeanor and unusually webbed fingers. Behind closed doors he exhibited a sadomasochistic nature that fortunately only exhibited itself during romantic trysts with their aunt and never turned into actual violent behavior towards her or the two boys.

Caleb studied religion at university whilst Nathan studied Archaeology. During his studies Caleb fell in with a monaethestic cult that made him withdraw from society. He was to emerge a few years later after escaping a mass suicide organised by the cult leader. At that point he had also developed delusional psychosis as well as Quiotism and was committed to an asylum where he remains to this day.

Nathaniel had a keen interest in ancient Egypt and travelled there as part of his studies. Becoming fascinated by the Egyptian religion and their skills with astronomy. This also gave him an interest in astronomy himself.

By the age of 24, Nathaniel had graduated and was offered a place at the university as a lecturer on ancient Egypt. He also was responsible for organising field trips for the archaeology department. It was on one of these field trips that he managed to save the life of one of his foreign students, a Chinese woman by the name of Nuwa Zhejiang and five years younger than him. He prevented her from falling down a shaft during an exploration of one of the pyramids near Saqquara. The pair became close friends after that and embarked on one of the new "trial" marriages that were becoming fashinable in the U.S. on July 3rd 1916 (a year later). The following year Nuwa gave birth to a baby girl, Sying. The pair remained "married" for 4 years but because both Nathaniel and Nuwa lead busy lives that often took them to different corners of the world, they eventually underwent an amicable seperation in 1921 with Nuwa retaining custody of Sying. Despite the separation, Nathaniel and Nuwa remain good friends and he dotes on his daughter whenever he has time to visit her.

A slim man with black hair and dark eyes. Andy could not be considered muscular, but he does have a large degree of muscle tone.

Andy is a post cognitive, which means that he can "see" events that have happened some time in the past. These "visions" are triggered by being in the same location as the event itself. He has no real control over this, the "visions" merely come to him at random moments.


Weaknesses (There is balance in all things, Have a great power? Give us something to balance that out):

Um, you could consider his visions to be curse rather than a blessing? Lets say that during a "vision"he enters a kind of fugue state where he is unaware of his surroundings.

Personality:

Andy is a strong willed individual that can be both charming and serious in equal measure. He has an intense curiosity and an analytical mind. His "visions" can make him appear a little flaky at times. He is is a pretty good hacker and programmer.

History (How did you become what you are? How did you develop those skills/traits/etc? What from your past informs now? This section can also help other players/GMs throw things your way to interact with.):

Andy was born on 16 May  to Jessica and Daniel Jacob. Daniel was a Laywer, initially from Wales (In the U.K.), who moved to Cork in Ireland where he met a woman named Jessica. The two got married and Jessica found a job as an environmental research biologist, for a company called Arcadia Envirotech.

Andy has an elder sister called Sarah who was born on 12 August (she's 28). Sarah followed in her father's footsteps and enrolled in law school, whilst Andy had a natural talent for technology and so decided to study software engineering.

It was in university that he met Maria, a beautifull redhead who was a good dancer and one of the "popular" crowd. They dated for about three months but Andy found her too arrogant and superficial so the relationship ended quite quickly, but reasonably amicably.

Around about the same time a freshman had requested a course transfer to the Applications development module that Andy was on. Elouise shared the same musical interests as Andy and was an 'A' grade student with an amazing I.Q. She was also a practising witch. Unfortunately, and despite being amazingly attractive, Elouise lacked any true social skills and was rather shy and geeky. Andy took it upon himself not only to defend her beliefs, but also to try to bring her out of her shell. As their friendship grew so did Maria's jealousy as she still had feelings for Andy.

Pretending to befriend Elouise, Maria took her to a nightclub along with her 'friend' Derek. Derek was a typical "Alpha-Male" type with all the arrogance and    testosterone that usually comes with that type of person. The pair spiked Elouise's drink with with rhypnol (the infamous 'date rape' drug) and Derek took her back to his flat and raped her. Because Derek's father was a local politician some rather shady dealings ensured that Derek never got arrested and tried for the crime and this enraged Andy. When he found out that Maria was also involved he was doubly furious. His anger got the better of him and he attacked Derek, breaking several of his ribs. This resulted in him getting kicked off his course and having to do several month's community service. He now has a real problem with the "Alpha-male" type and with manipulative women.

Andy had an interest in the occult which was encouraged by Elouise. The two started dating and although Andy never fully agreed with Elouise's beliefs, he learnt a lot about her religion from her. The two bought a house together in Kinsale and Andy got a job working for a software firm specialising in security related software, whilst Elouise decided to become a journalist.

One day Elouise went missing. Andy contacted the police and they began a search for her. A few days later her naked body was found dumped in a river. she'd been assaulted and strangled. The police had no real leads. Andy was devastated. After spending several weeks wallowing in self-pity he decided that if the police couldn't catch Ellie's killer then he would.

He started by visiting the river when her body was found and that is when he had the "first" of his visions. He "saw" two men carry her body out of an unmarked van and dump it in the river. The scene was so vivid, so real, that Andy thought he was actually there. He recognised one of them as an officer that was investigating Ellie's dissapearance.

Andy used his hacking skills, coupled with a good degree of painstaking research to gather evidence regarding Ellie's murder. He discovered that she had been investigating a human trafficking ring that picked up runaways and sold them to the sex slave industry. The officer was involved because he was involved in missing person's cases and was using police resources to track down potential girls for "recruitment" into the industry.

Andy collected enough evidence for his sister, who was acting as his lawyer, to  convict the officer and the man's arrest eventually led to the arrest of the human traffickers, who were operating out of the U.S.A.

After the incident Andy decided to quit his job, sell his house and move to the U.S.A. Recognizing his ability in solving crimes he used his funds to buy a house in Newcastle Island. He has now set up a business as a private detective - the "Jacobson Detective Agency" and intends to specialize in missing person cases. He has just placed an ad in the newspaper for a secretary and research assistant.

The house at 221 willow lane was a quaint building on three stories. The ground floor supported a hall leading to a living room, with a dining area and kitchen off to one side. To the rear was a small conservatory leading to a spacious garden with a pond behind it. The previous owner kept koi carp but the pond was now empty, waiting for a new owner to add his own aquatic life. On the second floor were three bedrooms and a bathroom. There were toilets on both floors. A spiral staircase led up into the Attic which has been converted into a study.

A slim man in his early thirties stood in the attic deciding how best to make use of the space. The removal van had already been here and several large boxes marked "Attic" were strewn about the otherwise empty room. The man ran a hand through his jet black hair as he took out a cellphone. Rather than access his SMS app he opened up an email client and began to type a message.

Dear Diary,

I’ve just arrived in Willow Grove. The weather her is fine and sunny, something an Irishman like myself will take some getting used to. I think I saw a castle on the way in so I’ll go and take a closer look at that later. I need to introduce myself to some of the locals, too.

I must admit to feeling a bit scared. I’ve never been to the U.S.A in my life, and now I’m starting a new life here. I hope I’ll be able to cope. There is so much to sort out. My visa application forms, health and life insurance cover, not to mention advertising the new business. I just hope I don’t p*ss anyone off here – I’ve been told that Americans like to sue each other for almost anything (LOL).

Virtue: Daniel generally likes people and does what he can to help them. This is, admittedly not a lot, but he is willing to listen to people and provide moral support and has been known to physically help others, even if he does not have the funds or resources to help out in other ways.

Vice: Women. He isn't a player, per se, but sometimes he has switched allegiances  and once or twice cheated on partners. He is constantly in conflict with his desire to remain loyal and his impulse to form an attachment to whatever pretty woman catches his eye at the current moment.

History: Born into a large family, Daniel has 3 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. His father and eldest brothers are coal miners whist his mother works as a seamstress. His second and third eldest brothers sought a life of theft and muggings and so the family did their best to distance themselves from them. Daniel was often in defence of his two younger sisters and this, coupled with his desire to protect those weaker than himself got him into many fights. He soon perfected the art of street fighting. His eldest sister, now 21, made a name for herself as a young singer at first busking for money and later being hired by a local entertainer to sing at one of the cabaret houses within the city. His younger sister (who would be 18 now) disappeared 2 years ago and it is feared she has either died or ended up in a brothel somewhere. Daniel now works as a bartender in a local tavern. His job earns him both a place to stay and a meagre wage that at least allows him to remain fed and clothed.

What more appearance stuff? Really? You know I suck at physical descriptions, right? Well I dress pretty much like anyone. Blue jeans, white T-Shirt. Probably with a Dalek on it or a picture of Yoda (Not baby Yoda, I do have some self respect). I have this black denim Jacket that I wear everywhere. It has more patches than a nicotine addict, too many pockets and numerous badges.

Oh, you want MY history?

So once upon a time a really fly french immigrant named Chloe Blanc, decided to visit New Orleans. There she met James Malcom Harison, an American national who owned a local Jazz club. They dug each other. They bumped uglies. I was the result. I was the only child so I got a lot of attention. I grew up in a city famed for its cultural diversity and supernatural history and it had its affect on me. I developed a curiosity about the world and a desire to learn more about the paranormal. My second area of interest was Naomi Clarke, a Cajun girl and daughter of a voodoo priest. She taught me Mojo. She taught me how to channel the Loa. She taught me a few other things as well but lets not go into that.

So We split up. Partly because I went to Arkham to study programming and partly because we got bored, I guess. I still keep in touch from time to time. She was my first after all. So as well as becoming a shit hot programmer (I wish!) I also joined the local Aikido club, under the excellent tuition of Mr Agawa, had a brief fling with a Japanese girl called Yuki and got my ass kicked by her brother, Kazuo. Its funny how a little ass kicking can turn into a long running bromance, isn't it? So Yuki was a flash in the pan affair but Kazuo, he's my bro man. He has my back. It helps that he's also a lawyer now. Yep a Philadelphia lawyer (I kid you not).

So one thing I have a talent for is music. I can play guitar, piano, drums and saxophone. I can sing too. My voice is like my dad's, smooth husky and bluesy. I can give any Jazz or swing singer a run for their money. So do I sing? Is screamo singing? Yeah, Jazz is fun but screamo is funnerer (bad grammer, get over it).

So lets wrap up my story. So I spent some time in Boston in a band. It wasn't my main source of income. I wrote indie games and sold them on the net. That wasn't my main source of income, either. I spent time behind bars (no not in prison, I worked in nightclubs as a barman). This band consisted of me (Bass guitar), Eddie (Lead Vocals), Jenny (Lead Guitar) and Handy Andy (Drums). We called ourselves the Not So Bravehearts and we wore kilts. Life was good. We played clubs. We did drugs, I bumped uglies with Jenny. Life was sweet. Until Eddie ruined it all. You see, Eddie is... how can I put this politely? Eddie is an ego-maniacal, narcisistic *censored* He was fine so long as he was center stage. Thing is he was only a mediocre singer. He liked Jenny. He knew me and Jenny were an item so he kept me sweet to keep her sweet. See me and Jenny. It was like, the real deal. It was love, man. I even got a tattoo of her name on my arm (O.K. so I told you not to mention it but I did so that's ok).

So imagine my shock when I found Eddie and Jenny one day doing stuff to each other that even I would have gone red over. Yeah, things were awkward after that and the band knew it and Eddie used it. He wasn't just content with destroying my love life. He took the band from me too, goaded me into a fight on stage and got me kicked out.

So here I am. Wandering around in Betsy (It's my car. It's a purple and black mini), sleeping in Betsy and doing odd jobs for cash. Luckily I ended up in Stillwater where I met this guy, Knox, who hired me as a bartender. I told him I had no address and would need to be paid by cash. He wanted me to start in two weeks. Today will be my first day of work. Maybe I can get the guy to hire me as a singer, too? Who knows.

Description:

Standing a little over six foot with a slim build, James has medium length dark hair and eyes and a small degree of stubble. His features could be described as "boyish". He tends to dress in casual attire, preferring dark neutral colours.



Bio:

Born in Bathgate, Scotland. He has a younger brother, Russel, who is living in Cornwall and works as a lawyer. His father was an explorer who liked to bring back unusual artifacts from all over the world and James was always fascinated by the stories of his travels.

He studied archaeology at university and after graduation went on a three year sabbatical traveling the world and exploring new places. He spent some time in the far east where picked up a smattering of languages on his travels, learning a small amount of Japanese and Mandarin as well as a lesser amount of Korean. After that he spent some time in Egypt working as an archaeologist. Recently he landed a job as a senior university lecturer at Smithdale.

Bio:

Born in Gyeongju, South Korea, She moved to the U.S. with her family when she was thirteen. Jazz was always interested in dance and music and finally won a scholarship to study dance and performing arts at Smithdale. However, the money from the scholarship was not enough to support her so she moved to Smithdale six months ahead of admission to find work to support her studies. After several failed attempts at getting a job, she ended up working at the Pink Lotus - a high class strip club - under the stage name of Melody Rhythm.

Whereas the rather dubious naming of the purple pixie doesn't fit in with the establishment's use, The Pink Lotus is very apply named. It is a 'high class' strip club, comprising of a bar and dance stage, as well as private booths for more personal lap dances.

Despite its dubious nature, the strippers themselves are well looked after. The club has both girl's nights and boy's nights and is manned by an army of bouncers.

When the girls are on, the club often promotes their star attraction, an Asian pole dancer that goes by the name of Melody Rhythm (not her real name).
