1) 80's and cellphones and mage: yes Sleepers have some primitive cell phones, like the blocks mentioned. but anybody with a technocratic background or has a good friend in the Virtual Adepts or Society of Ether can have.....better cell phones. if it is from the Sons of Ether, expect it to have "non standard" functions...

2) about entropy 2 and 3: keep in mind too many perfect/mind blowing bits of luck in a row, especially during a single combat or scene gets unbelievable after a certain point.

3) Art for mind effects is VERY appropriate.

also i like the ways you guys are approaching sphere selection via knowing your characters. your GM/ST highly approves.

I'm going with mind 3, entropy 2. More for happenstance effects than anything to represent her strange life.

I get the feeling we're erring a bit on the side of coincidental in this game. Not completely, but still.

Israel launched cellphone service in 1986. In 1987 the only hand held phone available was the DynaTAC, the "brick" phone. It was fairly large. When that MicroTAC in the picture above was launched having one made you the center of attention anytime you pulled it out.

In fact, looking at that MicroTAC, it's a 90's model because it has a LCD display instead of the red LED display.

Sharing your character sheets specifically is entirely up to you as the players, on an individual basis. i know some people like to keep some aspects secret, or not.

for actual backgrounds, well if you want some secrets, you are only required to reveal what is necessary to get along with the other characters and to explain on the surface why you are in tel aviv (lying is allowed, this is a spy flavored game after all). however you of course are free to show around your full backgrounds, as an in character thing and/or OOC.

Also, so a book I was expecting to take a long time to get out suddenly dropped yesterday, Gods and Monsters for Mage 20th edition. Anything I have said about creating familiars using the Core book rules or Forged By Dragon's Fire still stands. I have just bought the book today and will peruse it for any information that might be useful to you guys. I will not force you guys to suddenly adapt to a new thing that would superchange your character sheet unless it was necessary (unless you request it individually or together).

I don't believe there is one. I think we shifted to more of a Traditions game instead of the disparates. Not that it really matters.

No. I edited the one from the character sheet thread in heaven enough for my character but all the skills aren't perfect except the ones I have.

character sheet link above. this is not one i am requiring, just one i am aware of. you are always welcome to retask another edition's sheet long as you properly list different abilities and what not.

yes we have decided upon Traditions. This means the following are allowed: characters who are at least ALIGNED with the Traditions, if still picking. Traditions mages, Orphans who will eventually be adopted by a Tradition, traitors from another group (Crafts/Disparates, Technocrats) who will probably be forcibly adopted sooner or later, and Hollow Ones. I know I originally said it would be traitors and Trads only, but I think this makes some sense, plus a number of characters fall into the traitor or Orphan category.

Problem is getting that into the game. That's why I edited one that's on this site. But, like I said, I didn't fix everything. Only the things I needed to for my character. Still, if you want to use it I'm happy to share my character sheet.

And, in the 80s I believe the Hollow Ones were affiliated with the traditions as they were being courted to join for a while. It's later they tell them where they can stick it.
