Session 3
The servant (her name is Mariana, if anyone remembers to ask) helps you to find the library, then goes to the kitchen and comes back with some actual food. "I'm sorry there isn't much more than this. The masters were... not always considerate of any mortals here."
The meal is nothing special, but at the very least it's no worse than your dry rations. A night in the library, however, is much nicer than that. Lazarus probably enjoys it the most, replenishing his store of useful reference books and even uncovering a tome of necromantic rituals, should that sort of thing be appealing to him. Istvan, meanwhile, puts in some quality time with his new mace and the Meditations of the Righteous and Groovy. Through this, he discovers that if he swings the mace in a full circle he can cause it to unleash a strong breeze.
As for Lucius, the library itself may not hold anything especially useful to him, but the quite solitude of guard duty has its benefits. The paladin's current powers depend on the vow he made to help the slaves of Dreorus; this dealing with vampires and demons was merely a pit stop on the way there, but surely the Sun must approve. As he contemplates this, he is rewarded with a sudden flash of divine insight.
...
The next morning you wake, fully refreshed (unless you never went to sleep in the first place). As far as you know the castle is yours to explore. And hopefully the world outside of the castle is still there as well.
Where to now?
Your night in the library counts as Making Camp, with no expenditure of rations.
Istvan - you have unlocked the breeze power, and you are confident that any further unlocking will require some more serious holiness - in Noric's case, what would that look like?
Lazarus - you restock your books, and you get a magic tome which allows you to perform a Ritual at any burial site, even if it is not a Place of Power or otherwise magical. A site that is protected or consecrated might be an exception to this; the book isn't clear about that. What it is clear about, though, is that someone else owned this book before the Seglianis got it. Lazarus, whose ex libris is in here, and what do you know about that person?
Coming as it does on the border between two sessions, this book will not count as xp-worthy loot for Session 3.
Lucius - the Sun tells you something that will give you an advantage in your ongoing quest, what is it?
