Castaways: After Farnworth

The four Forhorns--including their former companion, Dak--went to the stables and retrieved their horses and left Farnworth.  Still in the center of town were the tied up men who had intended to fight at Cannibal's command, along with several villagers and the party, who were still debating just how the men should be dealt with.

Vendavel went to the house that had been purchased by Eliphas, and after a short time, the four men who had been Eliphas' employees emerged, now wearing armor and weapons, along with traveling packs and accompanied by two leashed dogs.  These dogs looked like a wolfhound and a  mastiff.

There had been a 60 asil bounty for Eliphas.

"Well, I think its up to the town what to do with the prisoners.  For my part, I think we should bring the Anake into dock.  Spend a few days in town.  We can get supplies, spend a couple nights in the comfort of a bed in the Inn.  Have some good food and drink, and help out around here a bit.  They've obviously been under the thumb of these bullies, we could spend a few coins, help clean the dead out of the church.  Tonight, we can have some fresh fried flounder.  I can't return without the damn book, so I don't plan to return, maybe I'll run across a copy someday.  For now, I think we should plan to our next destination, maybe some exotic island, we are free men and women now and can plot our destiny, find our fame fortune out there somewhere,  I say we do it".

"We could ask the villagers if any have seen it," Westin offers gently and a bit guiltily referring to the Arn Mathematica. He can't help but feel bad. He never felt comfortable with Malachy and part of him wished he had never brought up the subject in the first place. All for hope in getting an interesting spell or two.

"Did you search Eliphas's home to make sure it wasn't there?" Westin asks Panatix. Westin was less than enthused to go there to search, especially if Eliphas decaying body was there but it was worth searching there. It was quite possible or even likely the ruffians would not know the value of the book. It might even be in plain sight.

Wick nods, ”I wouldn’t mind having another look at Eliphas’ place, and a few days relaxing, getting a few drinks, good food, I’m in.”

He didn’t care much for the idea of mucking out bodies and the like, but he has a strong stomach, and maybe there was something interesting to be found.

”But if we don’t take Eliphas’ body back, how do claim the bounty?  And the longer we wait, the more it’ll stink and the it’ll look like Eliphas.  Besides, if we disappear for a day or so and then come back, maybe we find out about those guys, see if they circle back or not.”

Telemachus had been listening to all the ideas before nodding his head, "I agree.  Let's search the inn, Eliphas' house, Cannibal's house and when done I'll need a hand or two to head back out to the Ananke to bring her in safely."

He seemed to think for a moment before adding, "I...may...have a way to preserve Eliphas' body somewhat and give us a few days time to do this search followed by resting, recuperating and help these folk get back on their feet by lending a hand where we can to fixing things the thugs broke."
