Makaniua abandoned the intersection, moving closer to the group and getting ready to crush any spiders that moved past the others.

Re: Explorers: Hunt for the Goblins

Between the companions, their blades and the point of Annya's arrow made short work of three of the odd extra-legged spiders.  One remained, and it was hard to tell, but it seemed to have meant to take a bite out of Barlo, though the scuttling spider of too-many legs was so far from successful that it was hard to be certain that the creature had made such an attempt.

With that, the last strange creature was well and truly dead.

Barlo poked the last one with his sword, looking the odd thing over. He wondered if it was worth studying as he'd never seen anything like it.

Zaryk flipped one of the corpses over with his boot. "Never seen a spider with so many legs!"

He looks about the room, making a point of looking for holes the size of the spiders.

"Spiders usually aren't so aggressive either," Arn adds with a bit of a shudder. He was glad Barlo and Zaryk was with the him He hated to think what would have happened if he had stumbled on the spiders alone.

While there did not seem to be any holes in the walls of the room, there was a long corridor leading away, a doorless opening.

"I don't see anything of interest in here...shall we move on?"

If there are no concerns, Zaryk will lead the group through the tunnel to the north.

Arn nodded. It had already been an eventful day but perhaps more was in store.

The group continued about fifty feet north of the room, and there was a short inset with a door to the left, while the tunnel continued straight for around thirty more feet before taking a slight jog to the left.  They could tell the passage continued, though little more beyond that.

Zaryk stops at the first door, "I feel there is no rhyme nor reason to this place...but I agree with Arn let's not take the chance of leaving a room full of goblins at our back."

Re: Explorers: Hunt for the Goblins

The door opened into a room which was a round room, with one door leading back south.  The room was filled with stacked bodies, a number of which looked to be far from intact, rather like the crawling body whose trail they had followed to the entire place.

Now that the door had been opened, the rank odor of decay filled the air.

"Gods!" Zaryk exclaimed as he gagged at the sight of the corpses. He steps back into the corridor, "Close it, and lock it if you can Arn!"

What types of bodies? All humans? Or demi-humans and humanoids too?

Types of bodies--generally appear to be a mixture of human, demi-human and bipedal humanoid.

"Barlo's right, we should burn the corpses. This is probably where the one we fought came from," Arn said while holding his nose shut, his voice sounds oddly nasally. "Does anyone have any oil?"

Likewise breathing through her mouth, Annya shook her head as regards the oil.

She also made Veja's symbol with her free hand - the variant that emphasized her role as Nature's Warden - in respect and blessing of the not-recently departed.

Barlo:
We should burn them

"Good idea. Although I have no oil in my pack.

I wonder if we should we wait until we have seen all we can see before we fill the tunnels with smoke and stench?"
