"Promises of power is the most likely answer, at least that's what it usually is, and I can see that you've taken one of their diabolical bargains. I can smell the stink of supernatural on you.

That said, you do have me curious. Why would the army contact a bunch of witches and warlocks?"

Point Break monitored the movements of the outlined men. He asked messaged Mistral, "Could you perhaps outline our people in a different color for me, please?" If he had open comms to listen to the others, he would then focus on that.

Michael shook his head. “I have gone through some changes yes, but not for promise of power. You see you yourselves use magical weapons to complete your objectives, such as slaying a dragon…”He let that settle in then continues. “It is no different for me. What I have acquired, I use as a tool to continue my Vigil. There are dangerous creatures that care not for human life and wish to corrupt this world. We know in great detail about them and generally how to find them. Do you? My associates possess abilities not available to other Hunters, at least that I’m aware of. Power is tempting but is not an all corrupting thing. My associates, and I are committed to cleansing this city of dangerous supernatural threats. This is why our services were requested to eliminate a dangerous supernatural threat that even experienced well equipped Hunters would have difficulty dealing with. This leads to the reason why we’re here. I know you are not interested really in working with anyone not ‘pure’ human, but we do have information that could be useful to you if you are of an open mind.”

Adrian did not seem convinced, but he had not yet made any hostile movements, which was a good sign... possibly. "Go on."

Michael made a mental note to trace where the men with the magical weapons were to see if they were trying to get in a flanking position. “There’s a demon cult to Isis that has been causing mayhem and destruction in the city that we are try to eradicate before too many more people get hurt or sacrificed to that god. You interested?”

The men with the magical weapons had not moved from their positions yet. They remained behind Adrian, in cover and out of line of sight for now.

Adrian rubbed his chin. "And you know where the demon cult is located?"

Michael mentally reached out to Noah and Mistral. We got any useful info on where any part of the demon cult is, who they are, and what they can do?He held up one finger. “One moment. I’m gathering all of the intel we have right now and filtering the important bits.”

Noah flipped out his slate, "We have the last two locations but have not had a chance to go and get what's needed to track them to their new location. Between the resources wasted with the run-in of the cult of the Crone we have had a setback."

"Even with this set back it would take only a little time to find them. After all, you just have to look for the group of people avoiding the synths, and cross it with the missing synth reports."

"Hell, their synth tech could check the missing synth registry and get an area with that alone. And we can now counter their thread dodge trick that prevents us from targeting them."

He sent it along from his little lay low spot.

Michael tilts his head slightly as if listening to someone then nods with a smile. “We have their last two locations and a proven method of locating them now with a few minutes searching. Obviously there’s no need to do it until we’re ready to strike in case they move locations. A penny for your thoughts?”

Adrian paused for a moment, taking a glance back at those behind him before returning to look at Michael. "I think it's worth the gamble."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a burner phone. "Call the number on this when you have the location."

He tossed the phone to Michael.

Remote from this confrontation, Mistral’s slate pinged.  She spoke over the earpiece, Information reçue.  Allow us a moment to trace…”  The earpiece fell silent for a time while Mistral conducted arcane investigations and searches.

If she discovered any actionable leads on the demon cultists, she would report via the earpiece to Michael.

Michael caught the phone and nodded. “Since you have expressed interest, my contact is tracing them now to find their current location. It should only take a few minutes. How goes the Vigil lately? I hope my former home has been to your liking.”

Noah thumbed through his pad. "If they have heavy hitters like dragon hunters that situation is going to resolve itself when they don't have any dragons to hunt in New York."

"Think they are going to calm the hell down or do I need to go tie all their tail pipes into knotts?"

Michael sent his thoughts back to Noah. Well let’s see what happens when we give them a location. If they’re smart, they’ll let us go and then investing. Of course having those weapons meant to hunt on specific thing means it’s like giving them a sports car and not the keys.

Noah closed his hand about his cane hard enough to pop his knuckled. "Then it may be a good time to ensure I don't keep tempting them. Is there anything else on our to do list for this area or is it time we did a sweep of the city to see if we cant kick the demons nest?"

Well what I’m going for is seeing if they want to kick the demon nest for us. No need to do all the work for them.Michael looked over at the Hunter. “So if I give you the location of the demon cult, what will you do?”

At length Mistral's voice speaks again through the earpiece, "A major obstacle has been removed, but a direct trace will require correspondance plus précise.  With your permission, Monsieur Michael, I may glean the needed information directly from your memory.  Simply bring your recollections of your encounter with cultistes démoniaques to the forefront of your mind and I will do the rest."  She awaited for permission from Michael before digging in his memories.

Mistral felt her magic begin to waver as she tried to pluck the image from Michael's mind but, ultimately, the spell held and she had her image. Then she began to set up a direct link to the creature she'd found.

She found him walking through the reconstructed part of town... but now she knew that it was a ruse. It was a sympathetic misdirection covered in an illusion that only space mages could see.

From there, a careful examination was required to construct a second sympathetic connection tracing the impostor back to the real deal. It was hard, much harder than many of the things she'd done... and would likely have been impossible only a year ago.

However, now she was able to trace the origin point of the illusionary ping back to a warehouse on the docks. He was inside so it was difficult to tell exactly where you were on a map... but it was someplace that was partially destroyed but still functional.

After a long several minutes of waiting there at last came a ping on Michael's slate.  It was a message from an anonymous sender containing a pinned map location for a 'Fresh Kills Landfill' on the Staten Island waterfront.  Mistral's voice came over the earpiece, sounding somewhat weary, "This location was far more difficult to come by than I had anticipated.  The cultistes démoniaques utilize this place to dispose of the corpses of murdered synthetics.  It is not the base of operations I had hoped to find, but it will lead the hunters to the cult if they are compétent."

A pause, then she added gravely, "My search revealed concerning developments that we must discuss at a later time, away from this meeting.  I have seen une amie à nous, and the company she has found herself in."

Michael looked at his slate and smiled. He showed the GPS location to the lead Hunter. “Looks like we got a ping. It seems they have beefed up the magic around their headquarters, but we found their dumping grounds for the synths they murder. Looks like it’s at the Fresh Kills Landfill' on the Staten Island waterfront. With the skill and gear you have at your disposal, I’m sure you can get the info out of them where their main base is. I have faith in your ‘interrogation’ techniques. What you do with the info is up to you. With that, we will be taking our leave. I’ll contact you if I find out anything else.”Michael started taking a few steps back about to turn to take his leave.

Adrian took the GPS coordinates and watched the group leave but made no hostile movements toward them. It seems as though the group had managed to get what they wanted... though it was anyone's guess what they would do with that information (or if they would leave the other supernaturals alone now that they have it)

So now Point Break took them back to a place where they could regroup.
