Hymn of the Fallen (0.6.3)
The rest of the night passed peacefully (downtime for all involved) and there was time for a little sleep before the funeral. Due to the number of dead, the services were delayed until evening.
There were a lot of people that the group did not recognize, most of them children, classmates of Talion's kids, and their parents.
The Merlin was present, as were Amy and the mayor. Victor had sent Sal as a representative and Reginald had asked Hank.
There were a large number of clergymen present to say their goodbyes to the nuns who had dedicated their lives to the orphanage.
There was a man with a shaven head and a large number of prison tattoos who had stuffed himself into a (seemingly very uncomfortable suit) along with nearly a dozen more that had that "recently released from prison" look about them. All of them looked uncomfortable.
There were a handful of businessmen wearing the Adoni logo.
...and even Sariel had chosen to attend. He, however, unlike all of the others, had chosen to arrive in full regalia. Leather cape, full plate armor made of gold, and a scythe strapped across his back. He stood out in the front yard of the funeral home, a sight to draw the attention but forgotten the moment one looked away.
As for Talion, he sat alone in front of the thirty five closed caskets. He still wore his suit but one would not say he was sharply dressed. It was wrinkled and unkept. He had a five o'clock shadow and his eyes were glassy. He also smelled faintly of wine. He looked old, as though he had aged thirty years in the span of three days.
