Back on the boat (0.1.5b)

Prometheus leaves the Portal then walks to his room, before 'walking' onto the deck a few minutes latter. Although walk would be a generous statement. Charlotte running around him, clearly glad to see Prometheus back, and Prometheus is stopping every few steps to either dodge the dog OR have a brief moment of fighting.

It was clear just from their interactions that under normal circumstances they were inseparable, with both him far more energetic then he was seconds before, and the same was presumable of her. As he returned to the group he grabbed one of the new Tennis balls he had acquired, and threw it down the hall, being careful to aim away from Grey.

Looking at Ralph he smiled, and held out his hand, "You may have to give Charlotte some time, although I could be wrong. I don't know how well guard dog will trust a wolf. It should be fine though. And I like to think I am more techy then Noah. although one could argue it I suppose."

Charlotte ran up with the ball, and sat next to Prometheus urging him to throw it, clearly not paying Ralph any mind.

"Huh..." Prometheus took the ball...or rather attempted to, Charlotte clearly deciding that Prometheus needed to throw the ball without taking it. While he struggled with it, he said "I Clearly don't know much about Werewolves and animals then. Or maybe she just knows your trustworthy then. Charlotte...please, give me the ball. Don't make me order you, its not fun doing that...."

Finally managing to pull it from her teeth, he threw it once more, specifically the opposite direction to Grey.

"Nice to meet you regardless."

"Nice to meet you as well, and that Charlottes is pretty much ignoring me is a good sign, actually..animals tend to either flee or get overly aggressive around my kind, so this is a nice change"

OOC: not visible to anyone without the ability to see spirits.

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
The spirit gargoyle-creature stopped trying to attack, only to get town on all fours, tail twitching in the air, and snarling with animalistic rage. It does not speak and sparks arc off the tips of its claws.

Grey, seeing the commotion, hopped off of Mecha-Jitters and approached Mistral. "Umm, you might want to let that thing go before the next one spawns. Noah would be sad if you got eaten."

She then munches on another handful of coffee beans.

Mistral was disappointed to discover that the spirit was so obnoxiously feral.  She looked away from the squirming, hissing thing toward Grey and said, Bonsoir, mademoiselle Grey.  Do you know how and why these esprits d'intrus have come so near?  What is it that would eat me, precisely?”  Noah would miss her if she was eaten, Grey had said...  One who’d care or notice her absence was one more than she’d have had a couple weeks ago, so that was something.  Mistral released the gargoyle spirit from its binding with a dismissive gesture, though she left the command for calm to remain, leaving it free to go but not to attack.  With that matter resolved for now, she looked over the vast new coffee shop additions to the ship, and then to Grey with the mecha squirrel, and considered.  She said absently, “I begin to think that Grey needs more to occupy her time...”  She considered what the man in black had said about the elfin godling, but decided this wasn’t the time for that discussion.

Ralph the Garou seemed to be in better spirits after meeting with everyone.  That was encouraging, but in the meantime she had work to attend to.  To dragon-Noah and anyone else in earshot she asked, “We shall require a safe location to receive the children.  Suggestions?”  Once she had options, she set off below decks to the laboratory to retrieve the memory-metal rings, which she’d then bring to her own cabin to begin designing the portal scheme.

Grey grinned and gestured to Jitters. "We went to Colombia and bought two silos of coffee... but we ate one on the way home so we only have one now. Also, Jitters is too small to ride so I made him a saddle."

Jitters assumed a Napoleonic horse stance. "Indeed! The black water flows once more and Lady Grey's appetite for it rivals even mine. I think I made a fine steed for one such as her."

She was grinning ear to ear and Jitters seemed into it too. "Also, the hold of the ship should be big enough to gather a bunch of children. If not, I can make it bigger."

Edit: "These are storm spirits. Father is angry... and so the weather itself bends to his wrath."

Looking around at the ship, Argentus commented, "Well done on the restock.  Though at some point you guys will need to learn a little bit of self-control, even around coffee.  The mount does look pretty nice.  I'd suggest some modifications, but it might be easier if you just googled "MechWarrior" and customized the Robo-Squirrel on your own to start."

Remembering something, Argentus said to no one visible (without Spirit sight), "Niri, I assume you guessed it, but all batteries on this boat are off-limits.  Unless we're boarded by hostiles - then feel free to mess with theirs.  Also, if that guy throws another lightning bolt at Mistral, would you be able to catch it safely?  Lastly - those two over there can introduce you to coffee if you'd like."

He reached his senses out toward the oppressive pseudo-hallow.   Argentus didn't expect anything involving Talion to be remotely reasonable, but this was as funny as a $3 bill.

Back on the boat (0.1.5b)

((OOC: Curses, google-fu failed me. I honestly went looking for how werewolves and animals get along and found nothing. I know Charlotte should dislike Sal, although thus far it hasn't really come up. But I messed up here,,, oh well))

Prometheus continued to play catch with Charlotte for a while, while looking over at the group. As he did so he replied to Ralph, "She has a good grasp of who is and isn't good. Some people she will distrust but trust latter, Mistral earned herself some of that to begin with, but most she has a good idea from the start. A good sign if nothing else."

Spotting Mistral he said, "If you'll excuse me..."

Walking over to her he said, "I want to thank you for what you did earlier today. I know you said you would answer if we contacted you, but I don't think you expected or deserved to be contacted for something like that, and you treated the situation as well as could be expected."

He paused for a second and then said, "Should you like, I can take away some of the pain from what happened yesterday. Can't be sure if I will heal it entirely without seeing it, but I can help regardless."

He looked really guilty and then added, "Should you be willing, and I know I am meant to be thanking you...but.... I remembered you mentioning Tass... or Noah mentioning it in relation to you its just I don't have a rote for this and  ummm..." He trails off. This was not at all something he was comfortable asking.

Argentus almost collapsed on the deck of the ship.  "Mistral, you should probably let that guy go join the others.  Also, no one should let their mind wander too close to that psuedo-hallow.  It's made up of the cries of the children and Talion's rage, hate, and guilt.  Not that I just did it... because that would be dumb."  He rubbed his temples, trying to find his happy place inside his head.

Back on the boat (0.1.5b)

Mistral turned to Prometheus as he gave his thanks for aiding his escape earlier.  She nodded once in response and said drily, “Think nothing of it.  Leaving mes amis to die tends to make for poor working relationships.”  He then offered to perform some form of mending upon the wound she’d inflicted on her own arm while gripped by paranoid madness in Tennessee.  Mistral bent the arm experimentally and winced, then conceded, “That would be welcome.  This wound would not kill me, but it would take time to heal and time is not a luxury we have.”

Mistral minutely quirked one pale eyebrow as Prometheus asked after her tass, with difficulty.  She cut him short to avoid further awkwardness and said, “I have much tass to spare, as it happens.  Our three month absence was a boon in this one respect.  A moment.”  She raised a hand, palm-up and focused her gaze not upon it but through it while murmuring cryptic syllables in the High Speech.  A few moments later from nothingness a refractive blue shape arose in her palm, the perspective of it gradually shifting until it resolved into a blue spherical candy.  She cocked her head and then continued, and more such spheres phased into existence: a second blue, two pink, one orange, one yellow, and one red.  Satisfied, Mistral placed the small handful of colorful candies into Prometheus’s hand and briefly explained the rough mana charge contained within each according to their color.

Meanwhile, Argentus reeled from supernal contact with Talion’s storm, and Mistral caught his shoulder to help steady him to keep from collapsing to the deck.  She said, “Of course you’d not be so foolish as to attempt to tap into Talion’s mana storm.  If you’ve need to restore l’énergie by safer means, I offer you the same.”  Again she performed a curious trick to conjure a small handful of candied balls out of some space-between-spaces, then offered these to Argentus with the same explanation she’d given to Prometheus.

To Prometheus she then said, “Come to the laboratory with me, if you would.”  Mistral strode off below decks to the laboratory workshop near the medical ward, where she removed her hooded jacket to reveal the ‘tactical catsuit’ from the previous mission underneath.  She peeled back her left sleeve to reveal a milky-pale arm with an elbow wrapped about in white gauze.  She carefully unfurled the bandage to reveal an ugly laceration on the back of one elbow.  It was scabbed-over and beginning to heal well enough so far, but it was worse than she’d let on.  Wincing and looking self-conscious, Mistral asked Prometheus, “Is this within your power to heal?”

Prometheus and Argentus are each being offered a candy mana-ball package of:
  • Red:    5 mana x 1
  • Yellow: 4 mana x 1
  • Orange: 3 mana x 1
  • Blue:   2 mana x 2
  • Pink:   1 mana x 2

If you bite into them you’ll find a hard candy coating over a firm jelly center in a mysterious variety of floral-fruity flavors.  Bon appetit :)

Noah smiled, it was good to see everyone about their business. He nodded at Argy, "Sal's gun is off the cooker, what did you need?" He stood up and started walking for the fabrication lab. He was dragging his side on the walls trying to get all the slag off of him, it was going to be a process.

He did, however, send Sal a message about his rifle.

"I made Sal a survival rifle that has inserts for any and all ammo types. Lightweight and it disassembles to something the size of a large wallet. Did you want something like that or did you have something else in mind? The Taurus arms judge is already an amazing firearm as is."

Prometheus' eyes widen, as he is presented with more mana then he has seen...well ever more then likely. At the very least more then he has seen since he left the Mysterium.

"Thank. Mistral. This means a lot. You have opened many doors for me with this gift....and likely stopped at least a few dozen scorifications."

Taking the offered Mana candy, he follows her down to the lab, and  looks over her arm, frowning, "I should be able to do so. If it had actually bitten you, I would be concerned, but this should be fine."

Gently taking her left arm in his hands, he said,"I feel like I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't at least try to sell you on a cybernetic arm... He offered her a small smile, "Me and Noah could set you up one with all sorts of gadgets in it. And I assure you, we don't rebo limbs."

He begins to mutter under his breath after that, attempting to cast the spell while she was distracted. Unfortunately it seemed he had distracted himself more then her.

"Okay.... lets try again, and concentrating this time...

"Though..."
Noah got THAT look. "I just got a load of hyper spell crystals. Ten or so units of mana tied to a spell made into a crystal. If I tip a pair of rounds with them, think you can put them into a target and document the results for me?" he held up his claws. "I cant use guns in this form and I dont trust my dopple to aim right."

The boat seemed strange... not the least reason being that the entire thing was neon green and several sizes too large for a normal human... as though being constructed by colorblind giants for colorblind giants.

The only place you could find see a computer was in a place called the "medical ward". However, what he saw there was... unnatural.

He saw a giant animate sunflower teddy bear tending to a synthetic with pure white plastic arms and legs rocking with a child and all but catatonic to the rest of the world and, on the other chair someone that looked as though she'd been skinned alive and had her flesh replaced with synthetic skin, complete with blood still dripping between the plates. Despite that, she seemed quite dead.

Mistral inclined her head to the two men thanking her and said, “Our fates are bound, for good or ill, so it is no good for any of us to go ill-equipped.”

In the Faboratory, Mistral gave Prometheus an incredulous look as he examined her wounded arm and suggested a cybernetic prosthesis.  She said drily, “An appealing offer, but can nothing be done to save the arm?  Amputation seems a touch excessive for this wound.  If I misplace any limbs I’ll surely accept replacements, toutefois.  She watched curiously as he analyzed her arm’s Pattern and focused on how to repair it.  It seemed to be no simple problem, but after some difficulty the wound began to knit itself closed before her very eyes.  There was a stinging as it closed up quicker than she’d thought possible, and Mistral sucked in a sharp intake of breath, but in a few moments the pain was but a memory.  Mistral blinked and raised her arm to look closer at it, bending it experimentally.  Surprised and satisfied, she looked back to Prometheus and said, “That was remarkable.  Merci beaucoup.  I didn’t realize until now how badly that wound was bothering me.  I’ll be able to keep the arm after all, then?”

Ralph's eyes go wide and he doesn't know whether to scream, vomit or laugh.. he's seen many strange things in the Umbra, in the fights alongside his pack, and in the vastness of the digital world, but none of it came close to or prepared him for the sights before him, and his first thought is to run, to get as far away from what is going on as he can, and find a place, or a way to lose himself until the images are gone, are distant memories...

And yet he doesn't turn, doesn't flee, doesn't even stay in one place..he feels himself moving closer, his voice soft as he tries to keep it steady, wanting to make himself heard even as he doesn't want to disturb anyone or anything..

Prometheus smiled, "The wound itself was minor. It was an attempt at a joke, a poor one by the sounds of it. Force of habit."

Taking his hands away from her arm, he said, "I deal with sleepers mostly, after all, sometimes with less drugs then I would like...and often with people who don't deserve the stuff they are getting...

Distracting the patient is almost always in my best interest. Although normally I don't distract myself at the same time."
