The Vigilant (0.2.6b)

Michael saw the man continuing to mumble. He decided he didn’t want to risk it and pummeled the guy into unconsciousness. He looked at the others. “Don’t worry. I didn’t kill him, but we should probably try to get out of here.”The priest then approached the synth who had been speaking. “Do you and your people require sanctuary? There is a Haven for all who don’t wish harm on humans.”

The Vigilant (0.2.6b)

Hans shakes his head at the mention of gods as he kneels down next to the synth that was pleading for help. And for it's ears or audio receptors or whatever he asks "I would have you choose life or death? If it is death I will be as swift as possible, but if it is life I will do what little I can. So choose and do so quickly?"

The synth Nefertiti was speaking to just stared at her blankly, as though not processing the comment fully. "I do not believe so, no."

However, when asked about the sanctuary, the synth smiled as much as he was able with the damage he had sustained. "You're willing to take us in? Do you not fear the ones who hunt us? We would be grateful if you could help us."

"Then live it shall be. And this will probably be a long road to recovery." he says to the synth.

"Hey I have an idea but I don't know how you would react. I don't know if this even makes sense. However would we be able to use some of the part from the damaged beyond repair synths?"

The Vigilant (0.2.6b)

The synth Hans was speaking to was mouthing words but unable to speak. It was nearly impossible for it to make more than a single word understood. The synthetic that the others had been speaking to responded from his sitting position. "Our bodies are designed to be compatible with both human anatomy and with each other. However, all of our body parts have... I suppose you would call them "memories". It is not advisable to plug in used parts without technician supervision.

It's why we haven't done so... to have memories of dying while yet alive is... unpleasant."

Nefertiti wasn't making any progress in helping these Synthetic People to see life in a different manner so she was to give up her actions on showing them of Ptah, God of Creation. Surely he would know more about these beings and how to help heal and further their journey in life.

Then she looked over to the unconscious cultist and wondered what was he truly doing or calling.  If only she knew how to determine what he was doing  ..  He was a evil being and she still didn't understand what was happening to her here.

"Should we be leaving quickly before something comes? looking to the others.  She knew nothing about this Harvester and surely the Master was another problem.

Michael nodded to the synth. “I would take you in, and no I’m not afraid of what hunts you. I get the feeling we will have to deal with them eventually anyways. Might as well make them come onto our home turf where we can make a better stand. The problem is that there are too many of you who can’t move for us to take with us. You say attaching the parts of the dead and dying would be unpleasant? We’ll get used to it. Life is unpleasant and anything worth having doesn’t come easy. This includes living. Do you understand? If we can get you back to Haven, we can try to get new parts later to replace the ‘dying’ ones. The question is, How much do you really want to live?”He calmly awaited its answer.

Nefertiti was silent and giving all her attention to the synths now, and seeing what their response to Michael's proposal would be.  Seeing that they were so quick to dismiss her offer of a better life would they take his and take the moment of unpleasantness of life.

Jay had stoically continued his ministrations, silently swearing a vow to destroy the perpetrators of this horror with each deceased synth he found. These he moved aside respectfully, clearing the way to those beneath. Anger was not something that usually dominated his mind but this had gotten to him due to the sheer apathy for what were obviously independent, thinking beings. "If we cannot, we will find other shelter nearby."

Michael looked around at all the still moving bodies around him. There were too many to bring to his Haven. Besides, he can’t protect the whole world as much as he wanted to. The deacon looked at the nearby buildings and pointed them out. “I can’t bring all of you it seems. There’s just too many and it would take to long, but I have an idea. This hunt will continue and there are many more of you than us. You need to learn to defend yourselves if you are going to survive. Move yourselves into the nearby buildings. I can provide some of you with weapons we just acquired to at least fend off a few of the people coming after you. Then we could try to find a parts store for you and more weapons. Once a small squad of you are repaired and equipped, you will be able to grow your colony from there. In exchange for these services, I ask that we form an alliance to help each other out when we’re in need. We will be stronger together.”

"That sounds like a plan. But the better question is do any of the mostly functional have the ability to repair the others? Otherwise going to train a few of you to fix the others while the others learn to fight. Unless you guys have Azimov's Protocols then this won't work at all." Hans says

The synth looked up to one of the buildings nearby that wasn't destroyed. "It will be difficult, but we can make our way to that building. We have a schematic of our own construction so we can repair ourselves with parts if we can get new ones... but we will need a means to defend ourselves if the mobs return.

People mention Azimov's Laws of Robotics frequently to us and are often surprised that we don't have them. I find it more surprising that they think we would need them."

The damaged synth finished his fruit and crawled to a pile of garbage nearby (he was missing a leg). Once there, he fashioned a makeshift crutch out of a piece of broken pipe. Once he was standing, he began to work with the other synthetics to at least get them moving.

Even though most of them were crawling, they had all begun to make their way to the building nearby.

Michael nodded and started helping them to the building. “Like I said we have extra weapons that we acquired today that we can give you for now. We would have to find a weapons store to get more, but assume any still around have already been ransacked. We can still look though.”

Nefertiti allowed the two gents to see what they could do to help the Synthetic People while she moved over to where Michael was.  May I look through those books we found and see if there is anything in there about this Harvester they speak of?

The synth nodded, accepting the weapons stockpile Michael had acquired to defend themselves as the synthetics made their exodus from the synthetic graveyard.

To Hans, the synth replied. "Do you require an implant in your psyche that prevents you from harming others?"

The synthetic paused for a moment, looking out as the mangled masses of synthetics, as if only just now catching the cruel irony of his question. When he looked back at you, his eyes seemed sad. "Nevermind..."

The synth seemed to purposefully leave the question about not finding parts unspoken. That they had the knowledge to repair themselves and the parts readily available from nearby synthetics but instead chose to remain unrepaired spoke volumes more than anything this synth could say to Hans now.

OOC: unless you guys have something else you wanna do, gonna end thread here. Yes? No?
