Nefertiti slept in an abandoned building while Fate and Michael rested at Haven.

 Most of them awoke to a new day, aching from the day before. Now was the time to regroup. They had stepped in a hornet's nest last night. Hopefully, no one followed them home...

The next day Nefertiti looked a bit better than she did the other day but still there was a look within her eyes that didn't bond well.  One could see that she was thinking hard on something and it may be more than she can deal with right now.

With some of the food they got from last night run she was enjoying a bit of it and she even looked to find some of that delicious fruit to eat as well.  It was something that she wanted to collect and be able to store as much of it as possible in a safe Haven of her own.

Waiting to see if Fate or Michael came out of the Haven.

Michael awoke one tremendous pain the next day. Even though his arm and shoulder had been bandaged up, it was very stiff and sore. He popped 800mg of ibuprofen in his mouth and washed it down with a full bottle of water. He slowly sat up and put on the sling his arm went in and got out of bed. A couple of throwing knives were hidden in the sling just in case. The priest said good morning to the residents that were already up today. The Zweihander and bow were left in his room since his left arm was currently useless. Instead, there was a bandolier of throwing knives across his chest and the switchblade in his boot. He emerged from Haven and sat on the stoop outside chewing on a granola bar. Michael waved good morning at Nefertiti.

Nefertiti looked up at Michael as she spotted him eating something and drinking water from a bottle. Very odd to have it in such a container but it seemed that things has advanced greatly in her time of sleeping.

"Greeting to you Michael. It seemed that Anubis wasn't ready to take you to be judged yet. she said with a smile.

"How is your arm doing?  Were you able to heal yourself any? she remembered he offered to heal her but she was capable of healing herself much faster than many.

Michael shook his head. “No. The Lord’s laying on of hands is meant for the healing of others not myself unfortunately. Not the first time I’ve been in a spot like this. Just gotta change tactics is all. Rely on my free running skills and abilities with a knife. Plus I still have one or two more surprises you haven’t seen yet.”

She laughed. “Oh Michael you are a character. Just hours ago you were knocking on the Doorway to Death

Her eyes looked him over for a moment. I can grant you some healing but it I will need your confession.

Fate was the last to rise. She wasn't sore, or hurt even, at least not physically. She was simmering over how useless she had been. That had to change. Surely there were weapons which she could put to good use somewhere. She never wanted to be that useless again.
Fate came out of Haven shortly after waking. When seeing the other two already there she greeting them with a "Morning..." It was only too obvious how down she was about the past fight and losing her prey. She thanked Michael for letting her stay at Haven the night before and went to retrieve some of the food she had found from before. She pulled out a protein bar, unwrapped it, and ate it.

Nefertiti looked at Fate and could see the disappointment within her eyes, any one could see that even a blind man.  But she had to make sure that Fate understood that they are alive and by the grace of the Gods they will live to fight another day.

"Oh what a sweet smile you have there Fate. she said with a smile of her own.

"Come have a seat so we can discuss what transpired.

Michael smiled at Nefertiti. “I should tell you the story about when I had to take down a pair of new vampires. Both my legs were messed up after that fight. I would appreciate the healing. A confession is fine. Reminds me of my days training to be a priest.”

He waved at Fate as she emerged. He understood her disappointment at what happened. It reminded him of how his first hunt had gone. His mentor had to bail him out before he became dog food for the werewolves they had been tracking. He pulled the silver switchblade out of his boot, opened it to reveal the blade, and closed it back up before offering it to Fate. “I got a bunch of silver knives on me. You can have this one if you want. I was thinking that maybe we could head back to where the Synths are and check out the weapon cache we gave them. The cache did belong to Hunters, so there’s bound to be some silver weapons in there somewhere. If not, I know of an institute near by that re-opened where we can get some custom stuff made for relatively cheap. Might be a good place to check out and put some orders in for gear since we may have to wait a while for some of it.”

Nefertiti smiled softly at Michael as she moved over to touch his shoulder and she was even more pleased to hear that he was willing to grant her his Confession.  It was surely going to be a glorious day for her.

"I do look forward in hearing your confession. she then placed a kiss upon his forehead.


21:12, Today: Nefertiti rolled 6 successes using 5d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 6,10(+8),9,10(+8),8.  Pre + Emp Heal Michael.

Every success heals two points of bashing damage, or one level of lethal damage.
Three successes allows for a single point of aggravated damage.

LET ME KNOW WHICH YOU CHOOSE, CAUSE IT WILL EFFECT ME AS WELL.

I'm guessing getting  a Confession out of you was surely worth a GREAT HEAL upon you.  Maybe you should change Faiths.. LOL

Fate accepted the knife gratefully and tucked into her jacket pocket. "Thank you. It would appear I really could use the help and I would be grateful for it. My strengths were pretty useless in that battle, but hopefully that was only because I was bare handed. Maybe with the right tools I'll be more of a threat to them. I hope..." She spoke as she sat down next to the two of them. She didn't move much as she watched the ground.

Nefertiti looked to Fate "You are a Mage, correct? she asked as her eyes looked her over.

"There was another that we encountered but his Chances ran.  I didn't get to ask him things about his gifts. she paused with a smile "Would you be willing to share the minor teachings of your Gift?

"Yes I am a mage, though I don't know if there is much I can teach you. Nevertheless I have no issue with telling you what I know. What are you, if you don't mind me asking?" Fate returned Nefertiti's gaze.

She smiled as she thought it was obvious when she spoke about Divine.

"You can say that I'm Divinity placed in a mortal shell. she said as she took notice of her gaze.

"The simplest feat is most grateful. calmly saying as she was very intrigue at what Fate would consider a simple spell.

OOC: So are all three of you heading to the Institute or are any of you going off to do something else?

"Well, I do still have to cast my armor." Fate stood up started moving her hands as if weaving a web then pushed the imaginary web out. Once Fate finishes she sits back down. "Afraid there's not much that shows for my magic."

OOC: My vote is we go to the institute, but I'll follow the group.
Fate will use Fortune's Protection, but not pay the one mana.

As Fate cast her spell it seems that Nefertiti was watching something but one couldn’t tell unless they were able to see the flow of Reality.

She smile at Fate and gave her a nod of the head. “Thank you Fate. That was very promising for me.

Fate nodded as she returned to her sitting position until they were ready to leave. Then she would follow Michael to the Institute he had mentioned.

Before allowing them to leave she took the liberty of hearing Michael's confession.

Then afterwards she waited a few more moments when they left and then she looked out into the city where she knew something was waiting for her out there.

Getting up she began her journey into the city where she can seek what she so desires.

Michael gave his confession. Most of it was about the various underhanded things he had to do to complete his Hunter duties including murder. Once the two other seemed ready to leave, he hopped into the Jeep with Fate and they took off to the institute.

 The trip to the synth shelter did not take long. They had militarized considerably but most of the weapons remained untouched and only those on guard duty were unarmed. The synths looked like regular people now and it was nearly impossible to distinguish one from another until you interacted with them.

 Michael managed to find several pieces of silver among the pile of weapons they had offloaded there.

 With the truck, it only took a few hours to get to the Adoni Institute, a sprawling college campus in the suburbs of New York. There was a synthetic manned security checkpoint. They were let through without incident into what seemed almost to be a suburb in and of itself, complete with white picket fences around meticulously maintained yards.

 From in here, it seemed as though the cataclysm outside was far removed with the people inside heading home or to classes without seemingly a care in the world.

 Beyond the housing area, the complex was separated into manual and mental labors with classes like "Blacksmithing" in the right (manual) part of the complex and "Chemistry" (ie. Electrolysis) in the left (mental) part of the complex.

 There were a LOT of students coming and going to the various classes.

OOC: And yes, the Institute teaches many "lost arts" like smithing. Most of the older professions that have fallen out of favor in modern times are taught here and it's brought back a sort of "renaissance" for people making things by hand.

Nefertiti has been away from the Haven for over 12 days.

Can Fate tell which of the buildings houses which craft or is Michael the only one who know his way around here?

Michael drives around looking for some sort of map of the area until he spots a student walking. He slows down and waves at them through the window. “Hey how’s it going? I was wondering if you knew where a good weapon or blacksmith is around here? Looking to possibly provide some work.”

 "Weapons? You mean like for the renaissance festival? Yeah, Vulcan does that kind of work. They make all kinds of replica swords there."

 The boy points you in the right direction and soon you find yourself in an outside classroom with multiple smelters, forges, and anvils. With it being closed off from the rest of the grounds, it felt very much like taking a step back in time.

 The teacher, Vulcan, was a synthetic blacksmith. His status as a synth was apparent due to the burn flecks on his skin (from the sparks his work produced).

 There were around 7 other students in the class... all of whom seemed to be average people.

And wayyyyy in the back was a man in an expensive suit setting up a number of boxes for a quick repair on Vulcan once class was done. He had set up a few small drones so there was camera evidence that there would be no tampering. Vulcan was a high profile synth after all.

In another clear box was a number of metal samples but that could wait. All in all he sat on a table in the back and waited for classes to be over. Rather joyfully working on a clear slate glass high tech cellphone.

Michael found a parking spot across the street and strapped on his Zweihander when he got out of the car. He figured it would catch the attention of the smith’s and give the air that he knew what a good blade looked like. It wouldn’t look too out of place to see a guy with a sword walking over to talk to people who make swords. Michael stood at the edge of the forging area and waited patiently for class to be over or approached whichever came first. He noted the well dressed man in the back. Clearly not a student of this class. He seemed to be tinkering on something, but the hunter couldn’t figure out what it was.

OOC: Since Nefertiti healed Michael’s wounds before he left, he would have brought along his Zweihander and bow to store in the back of the Jeep before he left. Just forgot about the healing before switching areas.

Fate will wait with Michael at the edge of the area all the while tapping her fingers against her jacket. She takes notice of the one man at the back in nice clothes. He looked out of place. Maybe he was another visitor like them.

Noah waved to the new people as he was rather happy and fuzzy in the head still from visiting the local Merlin so his attention span was hyper short at the moment.

He started setting out the contents of his project box. Each with an ultra dark iron bar and a thin silvery bar. One had a rosary added to the pile. One had a spool of gold thread. and the final a vial of silver fluid. Once he had his metals all set out he started making little diagrams for the weapons. He could make a lot of it himself but when making expensive weapons it was best to get the opinion of a professional.

Once his ADHD was satisfied he tilted his head to one side, sniffed the air, and looked at Fate before he smiled. It was good to see people still in the city after the rain tried to wash it all away. Still, he had no idea who anyone was but Vulcan so he could only assume.

Michael politely waved back. He slowly made his way around the area where the students were over to the man in the back. He held out his hand to shake hands with the man in the suit. “Hello. Name’s Michael. Are you a student or teacher here?”

Noah smiled, his eyes dilated to a degree that said he shouldn't be awake, or even alive. Though he was fairly lucid and together, his speech was clear and without stutter. "Name's Noah, nice to meet you." When he shook Michael's hand Noah's index and middle finger seemed to stick together. Same as his ring finger and pinky. It was an odd Spock kind of handshake. "More of a consultant. They get with me with it comes to the strange stuff and more abstract Synth issues."

"First time in or trying to expand your resume?"

"Name's Fate." Fate said as she went to shake Noah's hand as well with a nod. "First time for me, but then I have some particular interests." She returned to tapping her fingers against her jacket once she had her hand back.

Noah gave Fate the same odd handshake he gave Michael. "It is a very nice place. People yelling about free education for years and now here it is, high-quality education as well. Anything you're looking for directly? May be able to cut your wait time down a tiny bit."

"I was hoping someone could fashion me a very special type of weapon. A blade that straps to the wrist and looks like a katar except the blade would be retractable and slightly smaller. It would need to have a silver blade and I'd need two of them if possible, one for each wrist. They would have to be sturdy as well. I wouldn't want to chance them breaking on me. I'd also need a pair of brass knuckles, if possible, as well." Fate spoke seriously and then she perked up and sounded chipper as she asked. "Do you know where I could find a good trench coat too?"

Noah smiled, "Vulcan is a great person to talk to about swords and replicas, the man has made more than a few Buster swords. However, he is a synth. Hidden blades are directly illegal and his programming will likely report you immediately." He smile grew wider, "Though there are ways to do it without going to a synth. There is a weapon in combat synths that is in their elbow. It is a hidden blade that can be extended and retracted with a thought. I just modified one recently for a client as well."

He pulled out his clear cell and started drawing on the slate. "If you use the tech version you have much much less weight to deal with and mental control of the weapon." He picked up a block of perfected iron, Siderite, and used it to prop up the cell. "If I can get you parts I can make a set for you. The only thing you would have to worry about is charging them."

Michael nodded in agreement as he looked at Fate. “Yes of course it’s illegal.” He looked back at Noah. “A pleasure to meet someone so willing and eager for such a challenge. I imagine such a work wouldn’t be cheap. Would the price get knocked down a bit if we provided some of the silver to craft it?”

Noah nodded but didn't look up from the sketch. When a Nerd is locked in they are really locked in. "Favors and gold are my normal coin of the realm. Is there anything you are really good at? Lots of really bad people around. Or you can give me odd curio objects. Hell, if you have something really interesting I can even have a nano weave trench coat made for you. But that you have to include a large can of coffee as a tip for that."

Henry scratched his chin. “I don’t believe the things I’m good at can be mentioned in public like this. Let’s just say I do well as a bodyguard. I don’t really have much gold on me. My usual bag is silver. I suppose if there is someone who would trade an equivalent amount of gold for cash, then there may be something to that. My services as a priest of course are free to all. I suppose I would have to ask what kind of favors you had in mind.”

"There are all kinds of priests in this world. Some cant hold true relics as it burns evil. And if you are a priest you would know the true potency of the devil." He held up the rosary. A rosary blessed by an angel of the throne of God. "The demon chasing rosary. If you can touch it as a priest, I'll take two boxes of true blessed bullets and I'll make her weapons. If you cant then you're demon possessed and then we have problems." He knew Fate was skilled and not much else.

"If you want a nanofibers trench coat. Well, if you pull parts for me from the local synth grave yards I need parts. Or if you have a few to sell I can manage that." He raised an eyebrow "I am sorry though. I thought you born to fang and claw. I can smell wolf from the moment you walked in. I apologize for the assumption. "

"A recent bad run in and thus why we're here." Fate looked away as the memory of being chomped on came to mind. A distant look of dread covered her face for a moment, then she shook her head and turned her attention back towards Noah.

Michael reached out and reverently touched the rosary beads. He may be human, but he could feel the spiritual power radiating from it. The priest pulled his hand away and reached behind him to gently run a fingertip along the sharp blade of the silver sword and showed the cut to Noah for him to see that it wasn’t sizzling. “Home grown human here. Got some friends with fangs and claws, but like she said there’s a few out there that don’t like us. One in particular is stronger than the others. So if you know about the things that go bump in the night, may I ask what you are?”

Noah smiled when the priest could touch the rosary without being burned. "Well, that means you're not demon infested." He pulled out a lead coin with a crown on one side. A relic remake of the Moros lead coin for Fate to see. "I am a monster but I associate with the free council of mages. Omni mage but I cut my teeth with the matter mages. Shepard of the Ark Cabal. Currently just about the only ones officially hunting demons and playing damage control for Talion."

"So if you're being attacked by big fangy things it may benefit to add that to the too do list. And makes sense you would want silver now."

"Tell you what. If you're willing to bring me the head of a corrupted fangy boy or a Nephandi I'll add that to the list of trade goods. A dead corrupted is a good corrupted in my book."

"Unless you care to share what you know now. Then we pay a visit to an electronic store and we can visit the Fabratory."

Michael shrugged. “Well we killed one yesterday. We could try to go back to where the body is, but no guarantee it’s still there. We did establish a colony of synths on the other side of town from the big graveyard there. A mythical being fixed all of the ones that were still alive. We armed them and got them into some housing.”

Noah smiled wide. "Thank you for taking care of them. It's rare people see them as living thinking beings. And they are without a doubt. If you like I can see to it they are evacuated to a safer home."

"As to the bodies, I would indeed like to see them but I would need my armor."

"A mythical being you say? There are only four I know of in the city. Would you like to elaborate? I'm sure the local Merlin would be interested as well." He picked up one of the black metal bars and offered the small but heavy thing to Michael. "If you're having a ... replica... weapon made have Vulcan use that. He wont finish it tonight but you cant find better metals. Call it a thanks for taking care of synths. It's easy to hate them right now with all the meta news."

Michael took the bar of metal. “Thanks. The graveyard in that area is no more because the divine being absorbed them and used the matter to heal the other Synths. She is really nice and loves cookies. She lives across the street from me if you want to meet her.”

Noah inclined his head. "It would be a pleasure.  Though dont let me stand in your way to get your weapon made. I've got all day."

"Though based on what you're saying I think I know her. Either little kid Titania or Grey. Both can love their sweets. But Grey is the recycler of the two. But Titania can use matter magic to a degree. So it's a coin toss."

Michael snaps his fingers at the realization. “That’s right! It was Grey. We’ve also figured out who it is that has been murdering and dumping Synths. I suspect those individuals were the wolves we ran across.”

"Grey is a synthetic being. She is half magical construct and half high tech nanomachines. And all adorable. I can honestly say there is no one in the world who wants the best for you more than she." He offered Michael a small slate of glass with a line on one side. It was about the best he could do to make that stark trek level data pads. "Mind setting a map pin on where you ran into the bad woojoo? If there are some bad wolves moving in we kinda need to kick them in the pants before too long."

"Dont need another rage storm."

Michael notes the location on the sheet of glass truly impressed by the level of technology this person seemed capable of. “Well that’s good to know. I should note that there is a rather large force of them. We were able to escape before the group of them discovered our presence. I would think hit and run tactics would be better instead of all out battle. We also know of a homeless shelter they have been partly operating out of.” He noted the homeless shelter on the map as well.

Noah shook his head. "Please start from the top and work your way down, getting some conflicts here. And I will make you a deal. Go with us to see about thinning their numbers and I will make you a sword with the perfected iron, put a silver edge on it. Give you both of the hidden blades, and a coat if we can smash any evil relics there."

"Sound good?"

Michael nodded. “Sounds good to me, but I do not require anymore weapons than what I already have. I appreciate the offer though. This trip was mainly for her.”

 After some extended time chatting, the students left their workstations after stowing their works in locked cabinets, leaving Vulcan to clean up the work area and giving the group some time to speak with him alone.

 Smithing wasn't a particularly sought-after profession outside of making replicas so there was only one class a day. Now that it was over, the group had Vulcan all to themselves.

Noah looked at Fate, "If you're good with all this Ill get the plans from Vulcan and we can head to the Fabratory after we go visit your synths? I hate to direct this as I am still a stranger to you. Otherwise, feel free to talk with Vulcan first. I know he can make some mean blades."

"It sounds like we have a deal. I'll follow your lead since you already know him. I'd be happy to help thin their numbers with you, but I'm afraid without what I mentioned I'm pretty well useless." Fate had a look of disappointment on her face as she spoke of her uselessness.

Noah inclined his head. "You'll have your gear before the days end." Really the whole reason he was here was to see if Vulcans forge was able to handle dragon fire. It took a lot of heat to make the weapons he needed to and he couldn't forge them until nightfall.

Annddd he got his answer. He would have to either make a new forge or upgrade Vulcan's forge. He did, however, leave Vulcan the NuSkin spray and a few patch chips to set him up for the memory back up system later.

He clapped once. "Well, that is a dead end for me. If you like we can go get the synths out of there as they are a huge target here in the city. From there a quick stop at a parts shop and I can make your blades fairly quick. If you let me know where it is I can get a friend headed that way."

“I marked the synth colony on your map. Hopefully they haven’t been attacked by the cult.”Michael looked at Fate to see if there was anything else she needed before they headed out.

"We'd better hurry there and find out." Fate agreed with the two of them.
