Regrouping (0.2.9)
The watercraft on which Noah had ferried in the guests seemed to have set course for nothing but open sea, despite his claim that it was not so far. There was a shaded mirage out on the sea that never seemed to get closer than the horizon, but that was it. Yet, after some time of traveling the mirage appeared to loom rapidly closer until it quite suddenly resolved into an immense blue galleon parked next to an glittering amethyst geode island, about a mile away. One would think such an extraordinary place would attract society's attention, yet it seemed to be much more difficult to find than one might expect.
OOC: just a quick detour to describe a thing Mist made that would affect the arrival experience, carry on :)
An unremarkable figure drifted past Noah's tables unnoticed, just another of the multitudes of people passing unremembered through one's periphery each day. Logically there really shouldn't be anonymous figures about this strange place, but that was neither here nor there. The box that had sat upon the table went missing, but it was hard to recall when anybody had last seen it.
After some length of discussion, a French-accented woman's voice spoke up from nowhere to inquire, "Do the nouveaux arrivants have names? These are those who recovered the synths, I take it?" A pale woman leaned against a nearby table with blue-tipped white hair windblown under a wide-brimmed sun hat, peering through oversized, bright-blue sunglasses at a basketball-sized sphere of many interlocking segments. She must have been there for some time, but it was rather odd that nobody had noticed her arrive. She carefully set the sphere back into its box, then arose to approach the gathering. She silently regarded each of the newcomers in turn, but didn't seem inclined to introduce herself.
The woman's gaze turned to Nefertiti, the only name she'd heard, and remarked, "Nefertiti, after the queen of eighteenth dynasty Egypt. A good name. Puissante." She paused for a long few moments, then asked in an even tone, "What is this that you have lost, and wish to find again?"
