Michael exited through his portal to find the truck just where Noah said it would be. He had had trouble finding food for everyone since the stores had been ransacked but the storm had carried a small blessing with it in the form of those bread fruits. The survivors had taken to raising them on the rooftop. It took very little effort to keep them growing and producing fruit, even in the October cold.

 Of course, that was far from the most unusual thing he'd seen in the past few days.

 As he made his way inside to deliver the care packages, he found a man he didn't know... but one he immediately recognized as a fellow Hunter. The man turned to him and smiled. "Seems you've had an interesting past few days, Michael."

Michael stopped only momentarily then continued on delivering the packages to the residents. “It certainly has been. I hope you received a warm welcome during your stay here. I apologize for the food selection, but our pantries have been reduced to dry processed foods along with growing the local fruit on the roof. I ordered some supplies to provide some variety. Can I get you some coffee Mr...?”

 "Voscal. Adrian Voscal… and yes, these people have been quite welcoming. I guess it's all part of the spirit of togetherness that comes along with disasters... and yes, I'd love some coffee."

 It was highly unusual for Hunters to meet in person. After all, it was often difficult to tell who was a legitimate Hunter and who was just deluded...

 When it was served, he took a moment to make sure no one was listening. "I ran across this little Haven of yours by accident. I'm looking for some sort of death cult operating out of emergency shelters.

 I heard you brought someone back here a few nights back and I'm thinking you might have a few leads."

Michael nods. “There is. Ran into them a couple of times. Once I got the drop on them and took one captive. Talked a lot of nonsense. He’s not much help anymore after all the concussions during interrogation. The second time lead me to a den of werewolves. Barely made it out alive when I went toe to toe with who I believe was their alpha. Damn strong beast. Would need a cell of Hunters just to take that one down. One followed as I ran away which was mowed down by some local military with machine guns. The cult is going after Synths specifically. Maiming them then dumping them off at the same dumping grounds. I went back to where they were again only to find they had left the area. I wasn’t going to just try to track them myself. That would be suicide. You could try to go there and search for them from there.”

 Adrian took a sip of coffee and pulled out his cellphone. He played with it for a few seconds before holding up a video of Michael, Fate, Nefertiti, and Jay watching on as Grey dissolved a pile of debris and then flooded the former synth haven with silver fluid.

 "And what about this?"

 He then pulled up another video of Michael in the presence of Noah (in dragon form), Nefertiti, Fate, and Sal (Mistral was oddly missing). "This was five hours ago. There are blockades and New York city is a no fly zone. How'd you get back?"

“Hmm? Oh that. You’d be surprised what weird things this whole catastrophe had created. The guy there in the first photo died in a werewolf ambush. The two women there are neighbors of mine. The child there is a synth with very strange powers. She recycled all the synths that the cult had dumped who were still alive and repaired them. Artificial intelligence and engineering have certainly come a long way. It really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering what some of the other Conspiracies and even my own can do. I mean if it is in the Lord’s Will I can bring the dead back to life. So really this isn’t as exciting as it seems.”Michael seemed very nonchalant and unbothered by the photos.

As he looked at the video from five hours ago, he shrugged. “I walked. Clearly you haven’t read my file about what I can do or know some things that aren’t in my file. Why do you think I was sent here in the first place? Hungry?”Michael zipped in a flash to the pantry, grabbed some beef jerky, and zipped back to the table before the guy could blink. He slid over some of the jerky. “As I said, I walked.”Technically, I walked through a portal but semantics.

 Adrian blinked a few times, clearly surprised by how fast Michael was. He took the jerky and opened it, taking a bite as he thought. "That's an interesting trick... and you did that all the way from Salem to New York? That must wear you out."

Michael chuckles. “I suppose you haven’t brushed up on your Scripture. As it is written in Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me’.” Michael steps away from the table and kneels while holding the celestial rosary to his forehead. “St. George whose fortitude is without question, please bless me with some measure of strength that I may do God’s will upon this earth. To vanquish the demons that escaped me and those who lurk in the shadows.” As the prayer finished, his muscles swelled to the point of being almost humanly impossible. Veins bulged and skin made taught across a body most fit. The priest rose with newfound endurance and sureness in his purpose.

He walked over to the man at the table. “Now then. I have some questions for you. What Conspiracy are you a part of and what is your purpose here?”

 The man did not flinch as Michael's form grew to bursting, instead choosing simply to stand. He met Michael with an intense stare. "I am part of the Order of St. Ambrose and I prefer Matthew 7 verses 15 through 20.

 Are we going to have it out here? What fruit will you bare to the Malleus Maleficarum?"

Michael smiled. “I am of the Brotherhood of St. Athanasius, so you know how I choose to bear my fruit. How many demons have you killed lately?”He crosses his arms. “I suppose none since I’ve had to clean up the area. Where were you when this town went to hell? Where was your order when the people in this city sought sanctuary from the evil that lurks? What fruits can you show? I’m waiting.”Ambrosians...always a pain in the butt. All suspicion and no action.
