Michael nodded in understanding. He used his super speed combined with his enhanced sight to zip around the gas station looking through the windows to try and locate the portal and guardians in question.

Talion:
"...Fate, if you would assist Michael and Sal with the guardians of the portal, Michael would be free to purify the abyssal resonance via antimagic once Mistral has closed it."

Whilst Mistral fixed upon the enormous paradox cat, a second Mistral and a third emerged from two different directions behind the beast and converged on the bus stop at a run.  The one nearest to the group reported, "The point de manifestation is in the garage.  I am nearly upon it."

The copy of Mistral who reached the garage first skidded to a halt and approached with caution, wincing against the proximity to the reality-rending forces of the Abyss.  When the pool of anti-existence came into view she rapidly traced the iron wand in the air in patterns of negation.

Nefertiti looked at Talion for a moment when he said about her being what she was.

Looking at the beastly thing she focused her mind power upon it and tried to read into its being.  Hoping that with Auspex would enlighten her on it.

21:15, Yesterday: Nefertiti rolled 1 success using 5d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 2,3,7,7,10(+2).  Int .

17:04, Today: Nefertiti rolled 3 successes using 7d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 7,4,5,10(+10,7),8,2,6.  Uncanny Perceptio.

Noah took a deep breath of vapors before he exhaled that prime forge fire that was his gut. It was about all he could come up with being outnumbered and his first mind being in a panic. The other awareness that communicated was already rolling its eyes.

Working with Grey he did his best to start dragging the leash toward where he was being directed.

"Thank you, Trinity!" Sal followed a Mistral to the garage, drawing his magic gun along the way. Though he worried about trying to use magic against paradox creatures, he suspected normal bullets wouldn't work well against these guardians.

Even with the beast tethered to the asphalt, it was no less dangerous. As Nefertiti took a good look at it, it turned and took a good look at her!

It began thrashing violently, shattering the asphalt in the spirit realm and even in the real world! Cracks formed in the real world as the ground began to shift. Foul-smelling black ichor began to seep from the cracks as the black feline form managed to take a full step toward Nefertiti, against Noah's pulling and against the tether in the ground!

Mistral felt herself becoming disoriented as her duplicates approached the abyssal resonance. The vulgar magic she'd cast would normally not have had such an effect... but with a powerful paradox spirit physically present, she was having much more difficulty maintaining control.

As Mistral began to struggle, Fate and Sal approached the garage. There they found something that Sal at least would have seen before. It looked like a miniature gargoyle roughly 2ft tall and foaming at the mouth as if rabid. It looked to be rotting and its "spiritual flesh" seemed to be rotting off in chunks. There were 4 in total.

They lunged, two each at Fate and Sal, each releasing a spark that seemed to come from nearby electrical equipment.

Sal has the Quickdraw merits for both firearms and melee weapons. Can he holster the gun, draw his spirit katana, and attack all at once? If not, he will spend this turn switching weapons, as he doesn't want to fire the magic gun in close combat.

00:10, Today: Secret Roll: Sal rolled 7 successes using 9d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 8,9,8,8,3,10(+5),8,5,9.  Stamina+Defense+Armor.

Seeing the creature come at her Fate went into defensive mode until their strike had passed. She then retorted with an attack of her own, as she did not like being attacked at all.

Paradox Safari (0.4.0a)

All three Mistrals staggered as the paradox-infected garage tore at the fabric of the magical projection allowing her to be in multiple places at once.  The replicas became indistinct and flickery, then all at once they vanished and left only the real Mistral reeling just outside the garage.  She winced and collected herself, then glanced back to see Sal and Fate being set upon by the strange guardians of this abyssal abomination.

"This rift is all that allows these to manifest in this realm.  Hold them off un petit moment and I will cut them off."  Mistral bent to the task of sealing up the tear in reality and reconstructing the barriers to keep such aberrations out.  With teeth gritted in intense focus and sweat forming on her brow, Mistral battled against the encroaching Abyss.

On the underside of the street, after roasting anything under with him down there, Noah wrapped the chain around his middle so it was as much of his mass as strength. The side effect was him hitting everything as sewers and drains had all their piping on the ceiling. *clang* "Ow..."*clang* "Ow..."*clang* "Ow..."*clang* "Ow..."*clang*  "This way fucker..." He kept geko crawling toward the ping on his radar.

Damage will go to the creature's health.

Paradox Safari (0.4.0a)

The paradox beast was now fixated on Nefertiti, leaving her little option but to run s Fate and Sal engaged with the spiritual zombie gargoyles and Noah made every effort to keep the creature tethered to the ground (a difficult task in and of itself).

As Noah exhaled, the gasses in the sewer ignited, causing the manhole covers to blow off and fire to spout from the vents near the road (many of which had been clogged with rubble).

Neither Fate nor Sal had managed to kill the spirits (though they had each severely wounded one) and Michael's blessing was enough to make the entire battleground visible without the need for any further special abilities.

Mistral made considerable progress toward sealing the rift but the considerable spiritual pressure on both sides was making it quite difficult. On the other side was an enormous pressure seeping corruption outward... but on this side was a spiritual weight bearing down upon and thinning the fabric of reality.

The moment she brought the rift closed, another tear opened elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the rift's guardians were not sitting quietly. More arcs of electricity seemed to shoot from the garage's infrastructure. Mistral managed to avoid the arc sent her way but Sal and Fate were not quite so lucky.

When it appeared that Fate had been hit another look revealed that she had somehow managed to sidestep the energy that had been coming her way. With seemingly much ease, she thrust herself from that sidestep into another charge at the creature before her. She was not about to let up so easily.

With the beast attention now focusing on her, she only boosted her movement some so she could keep a bit of distance from the creature but she didn't exactly know where she was running to, seeing that this city was all a new playground for her.

Nefertiti also watched to see if anyone was able to harm the beast so that she could try to drain its life when it was weaken to the point of close to death.

Sal and Fate each sliced through one of the 4 guardians that remained, leaving only two behind. Each remaining arced electricity at Sal and Fate but, with their counterparts destroyed, the intensity was much lessened.

Much to Nefertiti's dismay, no one seemed to be attacking the giant cat monster that was now chasing her (instead they all seemed to be gathered at a moderately sized metal building on the other side of said large monster.... with the exception of Noah, who she could not see (though she could see the chain he had had still attached to the beast and now to the ground)).

Meanwhile, Michael's attempt to seal the rift with his sword did not have the desired effect. He did not close the portal but some of the greasy energy began to dissipate from it.

Trying to seal this abyssal rift was like trying mortar cracks in a crumbling dam: stop one leak and the pressure would find the next weakest point to pour through.  It had been Talion's storm that weakened the dam to this extent, but that was a matter for later.  Here and now, Mistral resolved to shore up the dam and hold back these ghastly flood waters.

Michael arrived and attempted to cleanse the corruption with his faith, and it actually seemed to work to some extend.  Still straining mightily against the spiritual weight of the rift, Mistral rasped, "There is trop de pression from the other side... I will strengthen the barrier, but it is much to hold back..."  With iron wand clasped in a white-knuckle grip Mistral spoke cryptic words and weaved the fabric of spirit to shore up the mystical gauntlet between this world and the Shadow.

Michael saw that while it did not cut through the rift, it did bleed out some of the energy. He grabbed the hilt with both hands and twisted it in the rift to release more of the energy while Mistral worked to keep it from spilling out. The priest had the mental image of trying to lance a boil while covering it with a cloth.
