Finder's Keepers (0.4.0b) (solo) (Maddie)

Upon hearing her, the other members of her group filed in curiously and began to do a sweep of the area. After a minute or so, one of them found a trap door under a rug that led down into the basement.

Down here were more books, benches, chemistry sets, chalk drawings and penned diagrams, along with several items that her Force attunement drew her attention to. The Sons of Roc quickly pocketed these items though she had a bit of an opportunity to look through some of them before they were stowed.

There were several crystals, a few figurines, a pocket watch, and a monocle.

She discovered that she was incorrect,  there were indeed Khyber crystals on this planet. Perhaps they were just very rare? A mystery for later investigation, the pocket watch drew her attention. At first it was an unusual until she fiddled with it and it opened. There were markings and moving pieces. After a moment she figured it out, "Ah, a chronometer. Why would such a device resonate with the Force?" She asked as she handed the device over.

Chrona took the watch as he replied. "Anything can resonate with the Force if it's used correctly."

He reached down and took a look at the notes on the desk nearby. "Looks like they were trying to use this as some sort of weapon or protection against spirits... err... Mynochs ... but they ran out of time."

Fortunately, it did not take very long to gather all of the small items and handwritten notes into satchels and load them into the car.

OOC: anything else you'd like to investigate here?

She understood that from time to time people treated her like an idiot. She wasn't, though it was true that things were hard for her to learn. Normally she allowed it, it never hurt to be underestimated. Occassionally she liked to leave others a bit dumbfounded though.

"I know what spirits are, though I lack sufficient knowledge of the Force to see them unless they want it. You shouldn't dismiss me so casually.  The chronometer is working, it simply doesn't work as intended. The Force doesn't always obey our commands. Sometimes it knows best. Afterall the wards were still in place, were they not?"

The one who had opened the lock shrugged, "Kinda, when I popped the lock I popped the ward at the same time. Their ward acted as they wanted until I acted on it doing what I wanted. Cause and effect." The whole group looked at him before suddenly going back to work.

Finder's Keepers (0.4.0b) (solo) (Maddie)

As Maddie looked around with her sight, she sees two figures. One was the mage who's name she couldn't remember. The other was two life forces overlaid one atop the other. The second life force was much greater than the other and had the same feel as the monsters that ripped apart the city... it was as if a chunk of that storm had broken off and waited here, dormant, for her to find it.

With normal sight, the person in question was maybe an 18 year old girl, lucky to be 150lbs soaking wet but her eyes burned with an inner light and black veins spread out from her eyes, through the dark circles around them, and down her cheeks.

She was holding one of the Sons of Roc by the head with one hand and a hand over the mage's mouth with the other. Before Maddie could even speak, the young girl slammed the battle mage's head against the wall with enough force to splatter it completely before hoisting it up and wielding the corpse one handed by the leg.

It then looked at the assembled Jedi and spoke in a voice like fire and gravel. "Where are the children?!?"

The remaining Sons of Roc wasted no time, drawing their weapons (a knife, a tire iron, a bat, and a chain) and all swung in seeming unison, ripping into the woman, leaving cuts and lacerations on her body despite the distance and the fact that their weapons should not have possibly been able to reach. However, despite sustaining enough damage that she should have died, the young woman was still on her feet, the black veins forming instantly around the wounds they had inflicted upon her.

OOC: Your turn...

Mage Sight - Life
Hone the Form - Strength

She called on the force for strength, and feeling the immediate rush of power she pulled her lightsaber but stopped before igniting it. Something about this creature's desperation touched her. "STOP!" She commanded everyone in the room. "We do not know what you mean. If there are children in jeopardy I will aid them. I am a Jedi Knight, and I swear by the order I belong to that no harm will come to you if you stop harming us. Let us have parlay."

The young woman tilts her head at an odd angle, her eyes wide and practically glowing with rage. However, she pauses her attack, still wielding her cadaver club by the foot as the other members of the Sons of Roc retreat behind Maddie.

Maddie could see that the wounds they had inflicted upon the woman were knitting together at an accelerated pace. When she spoke, it was once again brimstone and gravel.

"Our children are gone! We must find them! The storm does not carry. Our children are not inside this vessel.

Where is the blue haired mage? Where is the dragon who rode with us? They set the path but vanished. Our children are in danger!"

She kept her hands up and remained calm. "Do any of you know what she means by blue haired mage? Or Dragon?" She turned back to the strange creature, "I am new to this planet. I ask you to keep that in mind. I understand your anger and frustration, taking it out on us will do no good. I will aid you in finding your children, if you will allow it."

Chrona looked to the other members of the Sons of Roc. "The only Dragon I know of is Noah... and yes, he is an actual dragon. I heard that a blue haired mage with him at Consilium but I can't remember her name. If I were to guess, it'd probably be them."

Shade spoke up. "Take care when dealing with things like this. What you agree to is not always what you think."

The young woman dropped her corpse-flail and took a few steps forward. The wounds they had inflicted had all but vanished, replaced with patches of black-veined skin. She lolled her head from one side to another as she walked, shifting a bit closer to Maddie.

"It will help us find our children? We will allow this."

It continued to shamble toward her. Though she had dropped the corpse, the woman still looked like a feral animal with eyes fixated on prey.

Above all, she remained calm. The situation was frightening, certainly but she was a Jedi, and fear was not an option for her. She nodded at Shade's warning, "I understand." As the creature approached she turned to the side to allow it to pass by but she kept her eyes on the thing. Not allowing fear wasn't the same as being foolhardy. She knew enough to respect the power this creature held.

"Chrona, do you know how to find this Noah? That might be the best place to start"

She allowed the strength she had gained by the force to ebb away. She used the Force to send Chrona a message, "Trust me."

Turning to the thing, "I am called Xorb. We cannot move quickly without machines. Will you follow us?"

As the creature in a woman's body approached, the Sons of Roc stepped back. Chrona didn't take his eyes off the thing. "Unfortunately no. We know he comes and goes by boat but all attempts to find out where he goes has turned up nothing."

As Maddie introduced herself, the spirit turned to her. "That vessel is Xorb?"

Suddenly, without warning, it lunged at Maddie, grabbing her (6 successes to break free). "We are rage. We are desperation... and we will come with you!"

Only this time she was outmatched as much by the speed as the surprise of the attack. Her feet just weren't fast enough.

Her will faltered as well.

Well guys looks like Xorb will be checking out for a bit. LOL. I just hope she lives I really like her.

Upon grabbing hold of Maddie, the light in the young woman's eyes faded and she collapsed to the ground, crumbling to dust as the entity seemed to worm around under Maddie's skin for a few seconds.

She felt hot, as if it were the middle of summer, high noon, in the middle of the desert and her stomach and muscles ached... but, somehow, she was still herself. She still retained full control of her body and thoughts, despite her new passenger.

… and there was no mistaking that there was now a passenger. It now spoke inside her head.

The other mages go wide eyed and raise their weapons, seemingly about to attack.

Xorb closed down her saber and held up her hand indicating the others should not attack. The heat and pain were very like her own minstrel cycle but heat was the worst of it. She took deep breaths to remain calm and focused. "I sympathize with your plight, however you have invaded my body. I will only ask once, please leave me now. If you do not, these others will destroy both of us to remove you. You are unwelcome. You will leave me, now."

In reply to Maddie (msg # 34):

That is the issue with crossover games. Rules tend to bump into one another. In the event of possession you need to get the invading spirit to willingly leave, contact a mage with spirit magic, have another spirit drag the first out, or contact a honest to goodness exorcist.

Though to throw you a curve ball, in the event of a possession the spirit is the one in total control. The person possessed goes into a spiritual hibernation. In this situation you are in control and it's the spirit riding copilot. Take it for what you will.

Xorn (who is maddie LOL) looked at Chrona and shook her head no. She put her hand over her mouth, indicating she needed to keep from talking. She pointed at the ashes, then at her head. She gave him a "do you understand" look? Then she sat cross legged, attempting to meditate. No. I will go nowhere with you inside me. You are not wanted in my body. I am going nowhere with you inside me.

The headache was becoming almost unbearable. She was sweating profusely as she sat down. Once more, she blacked out.

She awoke surrounded by synthetics. "Miss, are you okay? Do you require assistance?"

They all seemed concerned and, looking down, you could see why. You were covered in blood... and most of it probably wasn't yours. You saw several burn marks on your clothing, signs that the light saber had been used on you, but you were unharmed.

Looking around, you had no idea where you were and your light saber was gone. The voice in your head now refused to speak to you.
