With Noah's command, Wraith appeared from somewhere out of view and walked over to Carmilla's cell. Once there, he sat and stared at her... judgingly.

Michael was surprised to see the the blood’s effect on Nef before he realized what Nef had said about her. “You said she practiced blood magic. We should have known she would be able to make her blood acidic.”The priest gripped his Zweihander that began to glow and attempted to slice the very magic itself that was infused in the blood Noah was holding. Hopefully, it would be in time to save Nef.

20:41, Today: Michael rolled 4 successes using 9d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 6,9,10(+5),3,10(+10,1),1,1,1,7.  Mage breaker sword ability on fluid being held by Noah.

Hoping it reduces potency of effect by 4 hits.

Mistral cursed in French under her breath when Nefertiti's feeding on Carmilla turned disastrous.  The suspension and warded cell had done their work in impairing the elder vampiress, but she herself was still dangerous even so.

When Noah siphoned a sizzling gout of black blood from Nefertiti's throat, Mistral was there just behind Michael.  She waited for the holy man's glowing sword to do whatever it could.  Noah asked for disposal, and Mistral answered simply, "D'accord."  With a rapid gesture she opened a vapor-limned portal on the crystalline wall of the cell directly facing Carmilla.  Through the portal could be seen the empty blackness of space, and at the center of the image was the glowing star at the center of the solar system, in all its shining glory.  To Noah she said, "Dispose of it here."

She added in a hiss as she glared toward Carmilla from behind her veil, "I am inclined to dispose of her next."

End of "Night 1" (handwavium) (0.4.4)

Michael sliced into the corrosive blood, unravelling its magic through raw brute force. However, Noah's scaled hand still sizzled and burned as he tossed the corrosive glob through the hole. The inside of the mansion shifted and skittered away from the site of the landing glob of corrosion (the part that had been cut away)... and with good reason as well. Like what dripped from her wound, the glob of black ichor sizzled when it landed.

Michael found that his sword was corroding where it had touched the ichor and Noah's hand continued to melt. One of his clawed fingers dropped off and bone... or, well, the mechanical synthetic pieces that are a synth's substitute for bone, had become visible.

Nefertiti was in terrible shape. Most of her flesh had sloughed off into a gloppy pile of dissolving organic matter, leaving behind only an animate skeleton and partially dissolved organs. She was still alive... if alive was a concept that could really be applied to her at this point.

OOC: Nefertiti has suffered 6 Aggravated Damage. Noah has suffered 2 Aggravated Damage. Michael's Sword has suffered 3 Aggravated Damage.

Carmilla flinched visibly as the portal into the sun was opened... but she did not lose her composure. Still, she trembled visibly in its presence... as if it would suddenly consume her at any moment. Still, she glared at Nefertiti. "You make grand claims, little godling, but you are a fraud. You are an insult to the true worshippers of Isis. You consort with the disciples of her most hated foe. You have been judged and found wanting! You have-"

She was cut short by a growl from Wraith. The lock holding in his aura came undone and the whispers of madness began to encroach from all sides. Sources of light began to fade, leaving the area shrouded in darkness.

He took three steps forward, fixing his gaze upon Carmilla. "Maow… "

She paused to appraise the cat. "What... what is this thing?"

Skeletal fingers emerged from the spine of the cat, opening like a zipper and letting loose a torrent of sand and malice. Out of the cat emerged a thing of shadow and death, skeletal and monstrous, faceless and unknowable. It emerged and began to float toward the bound Carmilla.

 "Stay away!"

It reached out a skeletal hand and caressed her cheek. The decay began instantly, spreading across her lower jaw until it fell off, leaving her rotting tongue lolling in the air. It then raised a single finger to its nonexistent face in a "shh" gesture before floating backwards and lowering the rotting rags of its form back into the deflated cat sheath. It continued working its way back until only the fingers remained. There, they "zipped" the back of the cat back up and it sat back down, still staring at her.

Noah had to pause long enough to admire Mr. Wraith. "Best cat buddy ever. Gonna have to let him out to have some fun, earning his keep for sure."

Noah snapped back into resolution mode and reclaimed his control of the various casting fluids. Once collected he asked Grey to evacuate herself and abandon his left arm. Once she was clear he stuck that oversized arm into the portal. "I was hoping this would be just a wrist replacement..." He pulled back the skin and scales from his shoulder and entirely disconnected his left arm at the shoulder.

Being part machine and part meat had great advantages.

"Imma say she is out of comission.  Shes boiled down to bone but alive, means she may not be able to breathe to talk mate."

"I dont like having an elder here. Mr. Wraith can handle her but the collateral damage of a fight between death and a vampire is not something I care to inflict on the little one in her state."

"If you would like to eject she and I into space I'll see to it the kill is confirmed. But I'll not step on wiser toes if anyone has a better plan."
One wing draped over his missing limb as to hide it.

Nefertiti was in shocked at the precociousness that Carmilla took before being captured, it was something unexpected but then again it was something well planned and executed.  As she lays on the ground convolutions as the pain from her insides is quickly spreading all over her body.

In all the pain she was still able to hear the words coming out of Carmilla's mouth, well before her lower jaw was taken away.  The thought that Isis has forsaken her and gave her favor to that bitch Carmilla.  For years Nefertiti worshiped her and followed her ways for the people of Egypt. Has Isis become that corrupted that she would do such a wicked ploy to her follower. To one that she so gracefully gave her soul back.  To one that was so willing to give her life for her and to reestablish a growing Temple in the name of Isis.  So many things was running through Nefertiti's mind till she softly heard Michael's question.

In her deformed body of a skeletal figure she turned to Michael "I'm not sure where the soul is and for now I don't wish to have it back.  It is not a worthy soul for MY body. she said but her words were more directed to Carmilla for she was going to pay for this and it will not be a sudden death like being placed into the sun.  No she will suffer and now Nefertiti wanted Isis to feel the pain that she will place upon Carmilla for this betrayal.

"Do not kill her the words hissed out of Nefertiti's bony mouth.  "That honor belongs to me.  Plus there are things I want to find out from her.

Mistral winced beneath her veil at the gruesome corrosive effects of Carmilla's blood on all it touched, and it pained her to see Nefertiti literally melt before her eyes.  Could the Queen hope to survive such extensive physical ruination?  Vampires possessed uncanny resilience and regenerative capabilities, but it was hard to see how anything could come back from this.  Even Noah had to entirely detach a destroyed arm, which was disturbing but at least theoretically replaceable.  Thankfully, Wraith intervened to silence the wicked vampiress in rather dramatic fashion.

Nefertiti somehow managed to speak, and after a long moment Mistral said firmly, "Everyone but Nefertiti back away, NOW.  Carmilla is powerless here, and the only danger she poses is that in which you put yourselves."  Mistral did not leave, but remained facing Carmilla.  The faceless, hooded figure regarded the vampiress in silence, then said to Nefertiti, "Speak what would you know from this one, Reine, and you will have your answers."  The fact that Carmilla presently lacked the physical capacity to speak did not seem to be an issue.

Despite Nefertiti's command not to kill Carmilla, the answers they needed were the only thing preventing Mistral from casting the vampiress into the sun.

Noah had not backed away and was waiting for a something to be tossed out. So a massive wing just came down in front of Nef before it got pulled back. He turned his head with that maw clenched shut.

"Grey is afraid." He told Mistral through their telepathic bond.

"We are FAWKING done." He was willing to keep helping Nef survive, but Grey was a precious loveable bean and must be protected.

He clapped his hands and started a rather bright Omni thread spell, "You've got ten seconds and then I am finishing this."

Something powerful was assailing the wards, and they would not hold much longer.  It was time to end this farce.

"Au revoir, salope." Mistral hissed before dismissing Carmilla in a swirl of supernal mist.  At the same moment a figure appeared a dozen yards beyond the portal viewport to the void between Earth and its star.  It was the shape of a vampiress missing a jaw, silhouetted beautifully against the brilliance of the sun.

When Mistral cast her spell Noah finished his and had rode the coattails of her spell to actively remain present to ensure the death of an elder. The other side of his mind finished his other spell as he freed up a dead magic zone, just to make sure he turned off all the quackery crazy elder stuff that she may pull.

It was time for a space jam.

Noah

Carmilla did not burst into flame. Instead, her body began to char and blacken... at least for the first ten seconds. Then she stopped charring. Instead, her body was enveloped in darkness... enough to blot out the sun. Even though Noah tried to counterspell, there was a flood of power pouring into her.

Suddenly, darkness enveloped them both. The sun turned red and the Earth beneath them was revealed only in black and white.

--------------------

Everyone Else

Mistral managed to fling Carmilla out into space... where she seemed to catch fire... but, just as suddenly as she had been put there, she was gone.

At that moment, the portal shattered, her wards shattered, all of her defenses shattered and she was in only one place at a time.

Next, the group heard Grey's scream, even this far down, followed by an explosion that ripped the top off of the amethyst mansion. Salt water began pouring in from above, rapidly filling the massive geode.

Noah went after Carmilla to confirm the kill, although Mistral thought that her demise seemed certain.  Then again, she’d thought certain that they’d taken more than adequate measures to capture, contain and slay the elder vampiress, and look where that got them.  Noah would be okay.  He’d survived worse.

Her wards and portals came crashing down, along with the rest of her spells.  That was worrisome.  It seemed that Isis wasn’t so fond of their treatment of Carmilla.  Something catastrophic was occurring up above, and not even this geode deep beneath the surface was safe from it.  Looking up, Mistral declared, “Time to move.  Gather around Reine Nefertiti.”  It was uncertain whether the queen was even still alive, whatever that meant for her now, but she’d get them all out nonetheless.

As the saltwater roared in from above and crashed toward them in sheets of whitewater, Mistral spoke the final word of power.  The polished amethyst under their feet shimmered and became the foredeck of the S.S. Grey, which had been parked just off the amethyst isle.  What devastation would greet them when they arrived there was anyone’s guess, at this point.

With no time to look or check, Mistral brought the group to the deck of the S.S. Grey... or where the deck should have been.

Instead they fell into the water. The S.S. Grey was gone. The island was gone... and a whirlpool had begun to form above the geode, draining the water they were in into an undercurrent that threatened to drag them all under.

Also, the sun was just about to begin peeking over the water. Another few minutes and Nefertiti would fry.

Merdasse. Mistral cursed as her rushed teleportation dropped them not on the deck of the S.S. Grey, out into open air above a giant whirlpool.  The absence of both ship and the island were incredibly alarming, but that would be a matter for later.  There were more pressing worries just now.

Sal’s words sounded out across the roaring surf, and Mistral reckoned he was right, considering the sky brightening in the east.  Sinking beneath the roiling sea, she closed her eyes and focused her will.  The sounds of crashing waves fell quiet and the rush of moving water slowed, and Michael, Fate, Sal, Nefertiti and Mistral began to sink.  They only sank only a dozen feet before touching down outside Sal’s estate as the sphere of seawater containing them drained into the expansive lawn.  Mistral began to move toward the nearest entrance and beckoned, “Show us the way, maĆ®tre Sal.”

Once Sal had led them inside the manor to whatever sun-secure location he intended to bring Nefertiti, Mistral turned to a blank wall and began to weave circular patterns with her hands.  As she moved she said, “If Carmilla knew of this place then it may not be secure for long.”  With an opening gesture she opened a circular portal with edges swirling with bright vapors, beyond which could be seen a subterranean cavern with strangely-angled stones and a pool of clear and still water.  Some of the present company may have at some point passed through this magical sanctum somewhere in the French alps.  Mistral turned and addressed the cabal,  “I must go now to manage cette catastrophe.  If this haven is compromised or if you otherwise wish to follow, speak the words, ‘Triumph without glory.’ to re-open the way after me.  L’porte will close thirty seconds later, and only our cabal are permitted to pass with those brought along by conscious intent.”  With that, Mistral stepped through the supernal portal into the cavern beyond it and approached the still pool.  Thirty seconds later the portal closed, though it could be opened again at-will with the key-phrase she’d given.

Mistral strode into the cavernous hallow to kneel by the calm pool, closing her eyes.  She set to work with absolute focus to trace the locations of those who had been aboard the S.S. Grey or the amethyst isle, then transporting them away from trouble as needed.  The cave was nearly as cold as a walk-in refrigeration unit, and within a minute Mistral’s gaunt new body (which was also soaked in seawater) began to shiver from the chill.  Heedless of the cold, she doggedly continued working.

Michael found a couch or chair nearby and laid Nefertiti gently upon it. He then quickly knelt on his knees in the center of the mansion and began to pray establishing a ward similar to the one in the Crystal prison to protect the mansion from Carmila’s magic. Once he was finished, he met up with the rest of the group. “I imagine we only got until daylight ends to either fortify this place or find somewhere else to be before we get a mass of vampires descending upon us.”
