Having a general chat thread helps. :)

Also, updated the rules on magic as I forgot, 3.x wizards and sorcerers get nothing in terms of class abilities (wizard's rare bonus feat doesn't count). So I modified a bit to give wizards and sorcerers something to be gained by leveling up.

I also edited a few bits for clarity and additional detail.

Right now, there are three people I'm talking with, plus one who showed interest but has posted since.

Unsurprisingly, I miss stuff. With players building characters, such holes get discovered.

In this case, it turns out I didn't address iterative attacks. That has been fixed. I also a couple tweaks to really benefit martials in a way that casters aren't, namely I allow martials to reduce the penalty on successhive attacks.

I also had to add a limit to the number of attacks, otherwise 100 levels of martial classes could give 20 attacks per round, a bit excessive, so I limited the number by the dex score, making dex important in a new way.

Mostly just a busy weekend with a trainee, so I focused on my games that had activity. Most don't do anything over the weekend, so I wasn't really worried about it. I'll be pushing things forward tonight though.

So, the overloading buffer issue got in my way tonight, but I did discover a few small things to do now that it is over, such as making the character sheets editable for everyone.

In reply to Neskusar (msg # 11):

How I missed these questions I don't know.

I updated the rules since I forget to put in how many hp you get. Simply though, you get your con score plus power.

Gold rather depends on the start for your character. A noble will have plenty more for example. That said, currency is actually bits of copper and iron.

1 gold piece is 1 ounce of iron or 20 ounces of copper. Anything made of metal will be much more expensive than the book, and usually made of copper rather than iron. 1 pound is 16 ounces, therefore, 1 pound of iron is 16 gp raw. Almost all iron items are masterwork though and thus expensive. Even copper is expensive but much less so now that a significant supply is in circulation.

Remember, most commoners will never have even 1gp in money.

In reply to Fulcrum (msg # 12):

so, looking at the character lvl wealth.
if someone would start at lvl 5, they have 9000 to spend.

But I don't know how you look at this.

Ah, I see what you are talking about.

The standard wealth by level is going to be a total no-go.

The big issue there is the Ironman princible. There is a difference between what Tony Stark can do, and what Ironman can do, and the entirety of that difference is equipment.

Thus, for the various guidelines to work in the original system, certain assumptions were needed to be made, add in the basis of gold=xp in the original material d20 was built on, and you get ridiculous cash growth.

I won't be using that table as I don't need it. In fact, the gp costs of many magic items are basically non-existant or much cheaper than the book. Magic is common enough that low level stuff is not worth much, and the high level stuff is rare enough that it comes down to haggling as there isn't enough of a market to have trends in cost, and unlike the known-to-be-false economic models, items don't have value, there is only how much one is willing to accept and how well they can convince the other side to shift in their favor.

A rich character can have 150-300 gp, while poor characters will have 100 or less to start. It'll all depend on the circustances of your character's arc.

Please remove me. The more posts I see, the more complicated this is getting; not simpler. Best of luck, but I think this isn't for me.
Have fun!

Well, when it rains, it pours.

I'm feeling much better and will be playing catch up all over the place the next few days.

That said, next week I will be training a new person which seriously hinders my posting ability, plus working around 90 hours scheduled so far, possibly more as the schedule isn't finished yet. So next week will be uncertain.

To any still watching, I want to apologize for my disappearance. I lost access and it took a while before I had the chance to try getting back in, and by then it was far too late to bother until I could once again stick around.

I will not try to bring the game however. I'm not ready to run anything.
