Posting Guidelines, Character Creation, Etc.

Hey crew, here are some guidelines on how to post.

For any "out of character" posts, we will use normal text.  An out of character post is a description of a PC's action, a question to the DM on a rule or course of action, etc. Descriptions by the DM will also be in plain text. For example:

Snappy the Gnome Illusionist decides he we sit down at the bar next to the oversized half-orc.

For "in character" posts, we will use colors (formatting with <color>TEXT</color>).  Let's assign blue to bard, orange to the sorcerer, and green to the warlock.  For example: "Let me play you a song, my friend!" shouted the Bard in the middle of the tavern brawl.

NPC in-character posts will all be in red.

Dice Rolls will be in purple

When you decided a course of action, post as much detail as possible and then use the website's dice roller for your particular ability or attack check.  Just copy and past the result of the Dice Roll (found at the top of the dice roller page) For example:
I've always wanted to test my skills against another sorcerer. stated the Sorcerer as she utters the word for a spell... a charm spell to be exact.  The enemy sorcerer will have to roll a WIS saving throw of DC 12.  The sorcerer would also like to use persuasion on the enemy sorcerer, saying, "Surely we can come to a mutual agreement.  If you just let us take a peak inside the back room, it won't cause you any problems".  I will roll a persuasion check to convince him to let us go to the back room.  09:32, Today: Emrys Wrenn, on behalf of Sorcerer - Stacie, rolled 12 using 1d20+3 ((9)).

The DM could then respond to you: It appears as though the Sorcerer has succumbed to the effects of your charm spell and seems reasonably disposed to your persuasive skills.  He looks at you with a slight smile and leans in closer to you, saying "For a beautiful fellow sorcerer like you, I'd do just about anything.  Here is the key to the back room.  Don't make a mess."

Please respond if you have additional questions to the basic posting rules or any rulings on DnD 5e rules.  Also, I will use this thread to explain additional rules or considerations as we go along.

In reply to Emrys Wrenn (msg # 1):

Now, for character creation.  In your character details area, use the following template for your character sheet:
link to a message in another game

That thread has the CODE for a good format character sheet.

Please fill in your description as well and change your character name.  When everyone has done that, respond to this post and I will post the main game thread to start us off.  Also please take time to read the game description.
