The Peoples Gate
Well, you stand to look over the Peoples Gate into the Rubble. Standing officiously is the lunar guards and a pinchy looking scribe. Greybeard looks at the group. "Well I am registered to enter. If you want to get back in you better do it now."

The scribe looks up at you. "Anything to declare? Anything not declared will be taxed on return. Hee Hee."

The Peoples Gate
A woman waits at the gate. Even in the crowds of Pavis, she stands out: a statuesque young woman, radiantly beautiful, with generous assets, long; bright red hair drawn up into a high ponytail, and a tasteful bronze circlet on her brow. She is just a bit over six feet tall, with big, green eyes, a cute little nose, and a sweet smile. She is perhaps too young for the profession her possessions indicate. A leaf-shaped sword with an ornate pommel hangs at her side, and a dagger counterbalances the sword. A warrior, perhaps, but she has no scars and is, in fact, a fresh-faced maiden of great beauty. She also lacks any visible tattoos. A sturdy black mare bears the woman's armor in her saddlebags.

"Good day, Master Greybeard," she says to the Lhankor Mhy priest, bowing from the waist, just a bit, and inclining her head respectfully. "Have you found anyone else to accompany us?"

She has already declared her possessions with the gate guards.

The Peoples Gate
Anaran rides up to the gate on his impala. He wears a mix of light armor (linen linothorax, leather greaves, leather vambraces, and an open helm) and light travel clothing. He is armed with a broadsword on his left hip, a dagger on his right hip, a finely made composite bow is unstrung and in a leather sheath on his left along with a quiver of arrows. Among the gear on his mount is a small shield and a dart.

As is fitting a warrior of the Firehoof Clan, his impala is light brown with roan socks and a blaze on his head. Unarmored, his mount moves with speed and agility.

When Anaran spots Leika, his eyes take in her equipment. When he spots her horse, he frowns but remains silent.

He goes to the guard and declares his possessions. He has no intention of giving the lying, untrustworthy Lunar Tarsh a reason to steal even more of his wealth. Once that is done, he rides over to Greybeard.

"As agreed, I am here," he says to the scholar.

"I am Anaran of the Firehoof Clan," he says to Leika. "My father is of the Colymar tribe. Are you of the Colymar?"

She bows to the impala rider with the same degree of respect she showed to the Lhankor Mhy priest. "It is an honor to meet you, Anaran of the Firehoof Clan. I am Leika Tarkalorsdottir, and yes, my people are Taraling Clan of the Colymar Tribe. I am the elder child of our chieftain." That smile of hers could be weaponized to melt the hearts of Valind's ice monsters.

Krugg, who is carrying all he owns, keeps to the shadows despite wearing a wide brimmed hat. He steps up to the official and offers in broken New Pelorian "Me Krugg this av, this av" and so he continues listing the items with a point rather than a word as he is worse in this language even than in Tradetalk.

Finally he turns to the Sage "Krugg ready".

The Peoples Gate
The Lunar Guards clearly are watching Leika. Their distrust of the Vinga Runelord is obvious. After you travel past the gate into the rubble the party equips themselves. Greybeard: "We will follow the road for about an hour until we pass the Real City. Past Downtown on the edge of Huntlands in the actual Rubble we will find the Museum."

The first thing you notice is the Zebra Fort and corals as you pass. The road near the gate is hard packed but as you get further into the Rubble debris starts to encroach into the road itself. Signs of burned out ruins are all around you. They look old so the burn is no longer noticeable, Washed away by centuries of rain. On the hill to the right, you see the Real City. With its intact walls standing out surrounded by ruins of old homes.

As you make your way to downtown a trail coming in from your right mergers into yours. Riding up is some women, one on a bison another on a zebra and two on Unicorns. They definitely look battle ready. Their distinctive tattoos mark them as Yelornans. They eye you warily as they ride off into the Huntlands toward their Temple.

Greybeard: "Proud warrior are the Yelornans and deadly. Some of the best archers around."
You see the ladies indeed have their bows at the ready. They do not seem to be looking to attack.

Scallah had risen before sunrise and headed to the gate. Once outside the city she commenced her morning devotions as she waited for the sage to arrive.

As they travel, Anaran keeps alert for danger, but eventually he starts talking.

"Leika, I know you're not familiar with the culture and the beliefs of the Prax. I want to warn you, riding that," he says with disgust in his voice, "abomination will not win you any friends. You should get a real mount as soon as possible, a Zebra might serve you better."

Later, when they spot the Yelornans, he nods in agreement with Greybeard's assessment. "They are passable archers. I can respect their skills, but I'm better."

Skipping along the path Greenleaf avoids the rubble that is strewn about the area. Stopping to examine a oddly shaped blackstone he gingerly prods it with the end of his bow.

The guards' suspicion does not bother Leika at all; she barely notices the flunkies exist. Once out of the city gates, she takes a few minutes to don her bronze vambraces, greaves, and scale hauberk. The armor gleams, polished and well-cared-for, though a few nicks, dents, and scratches couldn't quite be buffed out. The weight does not seem to bother her, and the golden color complements her brilliant red hair and emerald green eyes. Leika leaves her helmet in her horse's saddlebags.

The trollkin's presence surprises her. She looks down at him with great curiosity, leaning left and right to look at him from different angles. Perhaps she doesn't know what a trollkin is. "Ah! You're very stealthy, um..." Beat. "I am Leika Tarkalorsdottir. What are you called?"

She waves at the Yelnorans, arm stretched high above her head.

To the Ernalda priestess, Leika offers the Greeting, known to all the sons of Vingkot.

Warned by Anaran, Leika does not, in fact, ride her horse. She walks instead. "Thank you for warning me. I hope that you will teach me more of the ways of your people, and I also hope that you will teach me to ride an animal more suited to your peoples' customs."

"Feel free to ride your horse," Anaran says. "Riding it isn't the problem. Rather it is a small part of the problem. Horses are outside the Survival Covenant. Only the bastard tribe, the Pol-Joni ride horses and herd cattle. Sadly they have drawn some of the young people of the other tribes who have joined them"

If Leika is truly interested, he spends a bit of time explaining the Survival Covenant and the Praxian devotion to Eiritha and Waha. He admits that he isn't an initiate of Waha's cult, rather he followed his father's path and serves Humakt. But, like all men of the Prax, he is a lay member of Waha's cult.

Krugg looks up at the woman squinting in the morning sun despite his headgear. He smiles broadly, though it seems to lack humour, more a mask to hide behind and he nods as she speaks, though most of what she says appears not to register.

When she stops he says in poor trade "Me Krugg. Me hunt, me find." before he fixes the smile to his features again.

Scallah scowls at the Praxian's comment his abhorrence demonstrated in both manner and statement. The fellows bias doesn't instill any desire to attempt social interaction with him.

"It's nice to meet you, Krugg." She smiles down at the strange creature. Cheerfully, "You find some great treasure, and we'll keep you safe!"

To Anaran, she replies, "Vajra is a warhorse. She's wonderful, but uh, not very comfortable." Leika pats the black mare's nose. The horse whuffs and spends a long time looking at Anaran's impala.

She listens to him explain the Survival Covenant and the Praxian gods, nodding at the right times to confirm that she is paying attention. At the end, she says, "Hmmm...Ernalda's daughters gave the Orlanthi cows, sheep, and pigs, and Elmal Horse-Friend brought us horses when he married into the Storm Tribe. Perhaps the gods divided the herd beasts between the tribes of men?"
