"I've got a small group going out with me.  We've already promised to go after some goblins, who are also likely to be in the Deklo.  If all goes well, we'll see if we can get the spiders on the same trip, otherwise, we might have to make a second foray a couple days later."

"All things being the same, I'll come visit you afterwards, and let you know we've taken care of the problem."

Storm is able to find Tarim with ease. The Woodcutter is out helping people near his cottage to board up their windows from the winds. He is confused at first when Storm talks about the spiders and then says. "Oh you must be friends with Althiöf, he said that he had a group that would look into this for me, Thank you. Let Althiöf know that I have the payment, I made the deal with him, I hope you don't mind if he is the way that I turn over the gold too?" he says. "You can never be too safe nowadays." he adds.

Storm replies that he understands and is merely here to inform the woodcutter that he may resume logging. He adds that he doesn't know there is a reward  as far as he knows.

Storm then asks for any new rumors or news the wood cutter has picked up

"Nothing as of late, but then again I don't get out that much, hardly ever go to the Inn. But its going to be good to be able to get back into the Deklo Forest, Burne has been hounding me to start on the table he wants for the Keep." he says.

Storm greets the man and tells him about his recent visit to the cemetery and how bad it looked. He expresses that he has seen Burne about maintaining the cemetery to honor the town dead as well as the ranger lord and asks the woodcutter to help with the erection of the fence. He will also mention that Burnes will supply some labour to help.

Storm will also ask the man if he knows of anyone who will make a good candidate to look after the cemetery.

"Well, if someone had wanted too, they likely would have stepped up. You could ask Black Jay, he might be interested, obviously his attempt at raising sheep has ended badly. After his wife died he kinda went a little strange in the head, talks to himself all the time. He may be interested." Tarim says. "But yeah I can totally help with the fence, although its going to have to be normal wood from the nearby Forest. Any of the Deklo wood is reserved for Burne and Rufus for the commission they requested, You got Burne to loan you some labor, that is great. Yeah I could get a few cords together, it may take a few days to get the wood together, how about you come check in on Starday, I should have the cords ready by then." he says.

Tarim takes one hundred gold, and writes up a quick slip for Stormrider. "Here ya go." he says. "This should get the work and the labor started. I'll make sure to get out and get started as soon as I can. I have a few cords ready to go, I just need to check on them after this rain." he says. "Check in a few days, I should have something productive to show ya." he adds.

As Kossoth appraoches the Woodcutters Cottage he can see the man through the open window, sitting at his kitchen table eating. Tarim hadn't started work for the day, he was enjoying the better weather and eating breakfast. He glances out the open window and spots Kossoth. "Hail Sir." he says, as he stands and moves to his doorway. "Its a bit early, but I guess I can entertain a guest." he says. "What can I do for you.?" he asks.

"My apologies for interrupting your breakfast friend," remarked Kossoth as he bowed his head slightly to Tarim.  "I came to ask you a question about wood.  I'm looking to replace the spear I made on my naming day seven years ago and I'm looking for the best wood in the area as a replacement.  When I was with the others fighting the spiders they said Deklo wood was supposedly superior, mentioning that you were making a table for the Lords in the keep out of it and why we were there so that once it was cleared out you could get to harvesting.  Would it be or is there another local wood that would be better?"

"Deklo Wood would be the best in the area. The same outcropping where you fought those spiders, those trees. Deklo is some of the hardest in the region, take it and put iron inserts along the side and you got yourself a very stout spear. Why were you interesting in aquiring some, Now that the spiders have been taken care of, I've been commissioned by Burne to construct a meeting table for his Keep using the wood. I could pick up enough for a spear for you." he says. "I can't do the metal work for a spear, but I could get with Brother Symthe and the two of us could work on it together. It would cost though." he says.

Kossoth nodded his head, "I am hoping to have it made of the finest materials so I may be able to someday entreat a proper enchanter to lay their craft upon it.  From the way you speak about the wood then that would be perfect."

"If I had more time I would ask Brother Smythe if he would allow me to use his forge to craft the two tips myself.  When I apprenticed I was shown how to make an exceptionally sharp blade without any magic...even if it takes a lot of maintenance to retain its edge after being used," he gestured slightly to his backup weapon in the Drusus, "Unfortunately I cannot loose myself in such pleasures as it seems I will continue to be busy looking into this potential Ogre business south of here and what appears to be a resurgence of questionable creatures at the Moathouse nearby."

He shook his head and smiled, "I am well aware that such fine work between the two of you will not be cheap as I know how much effort I would have to put into it myself.  The weight and balance of my spear is a little different from a normal one though so I may need to come by each day to aid in what way I can when I'm not out...if you two didn't mind of course." he held up his double ended spear palm up so that the woodcutter could see the differences in design of the shaft if nothing else and let him take it if he wished to look more closely.

"Brother Smythe has a community forge that he allows others to use. So that might be an option. He's really a good man, I've worked with him before." Tarim says. "We can make it work, I've had other travelers come through with their exotic weapons from far off lands, it happens often with all the adventuring happening around here. I've made a few items in the past that I thought would never cross my workbench." he says.

Kossoth nodded his head and smiled, "If I find myself with the proper time to do so I very well may do so.  I was going to try and speak with Burne and ask him the potential value in using an already magical blade to be reshaped in the forge for the metals used in the spear, or perhaps an existing spear tip or tips worth exchanging for, then talk to Brother Smythe and let him know that you'll be collecting up some Deklo wood for the shaft and depending on what Burne says also ask about that with him."

He bowed his head in greater respect and asked, "For your time in this endeavour how much will your services cost?"

"I am about to head out to the Deklo grove. Let me chop down some of the trees and get some materials, once I'm back this evening, I should be able to give you a cost. But I have to check and ensure I can access the trees now that the Spiders have been dealt with." he says.

"I believe I am riding south to check on the status of the caravan this afternoon but should anything stop you from the grove send word to the Inn for Kossoth Zan and we should be able to come back out to take care of any issues.  There shouldn't be as we killed the four large ones and removed what egg clusters we saw." he responded in kind.

After a short pause he added, "Please be careful as someone or something seems to be trying to build up trouble at the nearby moathouse and Temple.  If something feels off trust your instincts.  Thank you again."  To which Kossoth waited for any reply from Tarim before heading off in the direction of Rufus and Burnes tower.
