Then, after your players have all posted — regardless of the order in which they posted — you get to sort it all out and summarize the round. There will be plenty of cases where some DM common sense and/or handwavium will have to get applied (player wanted to attack Goblin #1, but Goblin #1 had fallen by that point of the round, etc), but it will certainly cut down on the waiting on others.I don't feel super strongly about the above, but at the very least, guys should announce intentions during the init roll, particularly casters (throwing myself under the bus here). Otherwise ... I'll never lose a spell because I'll never choose to cast if my init sucks.
I agree. Intentions at the start, with an Initiative Roll, and a statement of what you are doing, and then I will arrange as per the Initiative Order. I like that idea seems like it would be smoother.
