... unless someone wants to buy up into them with their share

Virius would be willing to do this.  A 100gp gem carries a lot easier than one hundred coins.

Very true.

Not including the nonmagical armour or any of the magic items if we split things 8 ways (seven party members and one share for the party itself to cover incidentals and whatnot...like the cost of covering the jewelers work in carving up large stones into smaller ones would be an example) it’ll very roughly be just over 500gp at a very rough add up in my head glance and once we have an ‘official’ tally we’ll toss it up like the last one.

Assuming a share for the Party and a 10% fee for cutting the gems (we may try Burne first to avoid this?)

Our share is 460 GP each approx

Granted I am not sure if I made all my edits to my master sheet on this particular sheet. And on mobile so can't fully check it.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

When she did the two Rubies she only took a 5% cut.

Your spreadsheet looks good minus the fact that you've got the 10% cutting fee and you've got their value added in despite you also having them down under not split with the armour.  Like I mentioned though we can deduct the cutting fee from the Party Share since that's what it's there for...covering expenses that all us incur.

Yeah I entered quickly on mobile and then went back and added in the "cut" gems with the 10% fee

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

Once we know how much she'll 'charge' we'll just reduce it from the 8th share.  Hence the numbers should curve upwards to about 500ish except for the party share that will be I'm guessing 300-350ish post cutting cost.

Depending on Virius' gem value it of course will go up as that wasn't in any calculation previously.

Thank you for doing this.

The bean-counting in PbP can be a real chore (and drives me crazy when I DM), it's real nice to have the info in one spot like this, done up nice and succinct.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

The Gemcutter will charge 5% when breaking stones down into smaller sizes. This makes the gemcutting a pretty lucrative business, when she can charge 5 gold to break down a 100gp value gem, so when breaking down a 1000gp value gem she makes 50 gold. So If you go to her, its 5% to break down gems. (Other commissions or requests will differ.)

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

So how are we doing the "party" share of the loot? Is it a full share, half share? Full is easier to work with but if we want to reduce it we can.

I want to get the sheet easy to use. Anyone should be able to copy the master sheet and enter in the appropriate information and pop out what we need.

@DM given that we just did all this loot/coin transfer yesterday in game time will they still be able to accommodate us today after the spider hunt?

I'd say full share since that will allow for a healthy reserve if we need it.

I am for a full share as well. Is anyone against a full share for the party fund?

Full share makes calculations easier. Plus it will come in handy later when larger party purchases are needed.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

Okay I updated my Master sheet to do the following:

  • It adds up the treasure and divides by party members + 1 (for "party fund" split)
  • It then takes any amount not equally split among the Party Members +1 and divides that equally among the actual party members (So we all will get slightly more than the "party fund")
  • It then takes out the cost of Gem/Jewelry Cut fees from the Party Fund, showing in a separate cell. Additionally we can add any additional costs the party wants to take from that fund in a separate cell and it reduces the party fund by that amount.

If anyone wants to manually test the numbers go ahead. You can follow the link below to see the full sheet. The master is set so only I can edit it, but anyone can copy it and enter the numbers as needed.

Here is the loot breakdown.

I don't mind it one bit.  I'm actually really enjoying roleplaying the downtime.

@Korkas, all of the gems (including the last ruby from the first encounter) have been converted into the following:

280gp, and 35 separate 100gp stones.

The beauty of how I did my sheet is if we don't have to pay a cut fee then we don't include the gems in the cut cell and we just get the total split done quickly :P

Is the 5% fee still in there Dungeon Master but just in the form of her merchant point or is it a straight trade value back and forth?

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

Its a strait trade when it comes to trading, no fee. She is trading out older stock of gems she has but haven't been commissioned for anything for newer gems she doesn't have, that might be commissioned, so its a win for her. Shes not really loosing anything, but gaining more options for stuff.

I should also mention. We only needed to "Cut" 3000 GP worth of Gems. Not sure where they 3500 GP number came from.

But the simple edit to the sheet would be set Cell C17 to 0 as it cost us nothing.

Here is the new updated totals of what the party split should look like.

You can assume you have a collection of gemstones instead of coinage if you prefer.

https://docs.google.com/spread...krQ/edit?usp=sharing

quote:
Total Value (GP) 3979.97
Total Value of Split (GP): 568.57
Party Fund less Expenses (GP): 493.55

(5x 100 GP Gems each)
