So.... let Virius do all the introductions ...

Ha, I'll be your icebreaker, but when Virius negotiates a price it usually goes up!

Show your pretty mug and then get out of the way then :P

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

Yep, Witches get 1500 in Magical items. Now DMs do it in all sorts of strange ways. The most used option is just to give them 1500 XP value in magical items. Since 2E doesn't list costs for items. And the Magic Encyclopedia has prices, but the Witch would be stuck with a few potions or cursed items, almost everything else is out of the price range.

I'm sure you all have noticed that Yaotl chose Figurines of Wondrous power as one of her items. We decided to go with a Jaguar theme to them (using the Jaguar stats, instead of the lion stats.) that they normally are. The Jaguars are pretty thematic for the Olman Jungle Witch, plus it made them a little weaker which I was happy about.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

Sorry for the delayed posting, the summer semester is critting me but I don't want anything item wise from this expedition. I didn't contribute too much and none of the items really benefit me too much anyway. If we need it I'll identify after a days rest.

Also idk if we will have a natural time to do it RP wise but Yaotl will offer her services to cast armor on anyone who needs it... or even wants to sleep safely.  Since 2e has no time limit on it, it might help our lightly armored fellows.

8+Your level in damage before it goes away could be good for one or 2 hits. And still works with dex.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

We have a quorum, gang.

Here is how things shaped up:

ItemWho?
Magical Scimitar (+1 Scimitar)Keep, Trade Later
Magical Bag (Bag of Holding (500lbs)Ali?
Magical Ring (Ring of Protection +1)Kossoth? Ali? Korkas?
Magical Brooch (Brooch of Shielding)Ali? Virius?
Magical Cloak (Cloak of Elvenkind)Kossoth? Althiof? Korkas?
Magical Potion (Potion of Climbing)Ali?

Here is the world as Ski-Bird sees it (literally none of this is binding ... just opinion):

Scimitar — We keep this item, possibly trading it later.

Bag of Holding / Potion of Climbing — As Ali was the only one to go for the Bag of Holding, and the Potion of Climbing, I have no issue with him getting these items.  The bag makes sense since he is the concoction-expert and already has a wheelbarrow full of stuff he has to bring everywhere. The potion makes sense from an experimentation point of view.

Ring of Protection — Since Ali just got two items, I think that puts him right out of contention for the Ring of Protection.  That leaves Kossoth and Korkas, each being a front line fighter.  Use AC as a tie breaker?  Guy with the worse AC gets the ring?

Brooch of Shielding — Similar to above, Ali just received two items, I think that makes Virius a good choice for this item. In other words, Virius would receive his first item from the haul before Ali received his third.  [I realize how completely self-interested to even weigh in on this one]

Cloak of Elvenkind — Our first three way tie.  First thing I would ask is what size the cloak was, and whether it could be tailored without ruining it.  If it is man-sized, and cannot be changed ... that puts the dwarves right out.  If it can be tailored, it changes the conversation somewhat.  Like any character, all three of these PCs would benefit from stealth (particularly the thieves, though).  Of the thieves, Althiöf would benefit the most, as he has been a mobility-type fighter up until this point vs. Korkas who is more of a front-line brawler.  Althiöf would be better able to position himself for a backstab dagger strike if he had this gear (and he will reach the x3 damage threshold far quicker than than the multi-classed thief).

Note:  Since Stormrider & Yaotl abstained from this particular haul ... they would receive consideration on the next haul.

Our charter (which obviously hasn't been signed yet in-game, so isn't 100% binding in this instance) says that we vote in the case of ties.

If needed, here are Virius' votes:

Scimitar — Keep, Trade Later
Bag — Ali
Ring — Fighter with worse AC
Brooch — Virius
Cloak — Kossoth (if only he can wear it), Althiöf (if he can wear it)
Potion — Ali

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

^^ Also, as I'm sitting here thinking about it.  Would it make sense to have a different OOC thread for stuff like this.  Party Business or something?

Stuff like this will get spread over multiple pages if we keep it in the regular OOC.  The new thread would be strictly for weighing in on things like this and/or casting votes when required.

If we do — get a Party Business thread I mean — I'd be willing to herd the cats (play a secretary role, get stuff listed in a way that makes sense, and tally votes and what-not)

Dungeon Master:
Ali Ansari:
I asked DM if Ali could learn how to make potions from potions he examines so we will find out.

If using a Potion, you offset the cost of researching a spell. So you would in effect use the potion to learn a Formula that would allow you to make a concoction of climbing, using other alchemical reagents and the formula of the potion. So yes.

Ali would use the potion of climbing to get the recipe to be able to make them in the future as per his abilities.  With the loss of the potion to use for now he would be more then willingly to keep an extra Spider Climb spell handy plus snicker, the potion kinda is a group benefit thing so it should not count as a picked magic item BUT hey if we keep getting extra potions he is more then happy to learn the formulas to make when he can.  So a healing potion too, and yes, he will ID potions at the cost explained by the DM which is a side benny and usually less then an identifies price in pear, spell and time.

Oh Armor spell is only for the caster, as far as I read, you cannot cast it on someone else :(

But ALi has that spell so mages can learn it from him :)

The range is listed as Touch, and the area of effect is 1 creature.  It goes on whatever creature the wizard touches.

If I could while also wearing my leather I would, but you must be wearing no armour at all.  After that damage and it disappears I wouldn’t have anything to fall back on so I’ll pass for the moment.

I have no interest in being the front line fighter, I can be, but that wasn't my intention I was just the only fighter so I had to do it when we started.

I already visited both the smith and the jeweler with responses from the DM since I left.

this is true but Burne even speaks to you in #66 about questions that Ali has in #64 that he tossed up trying to get you to stop.

Now if you just walked out and ignored them sure you're gone...

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations

So that mess up was on me!, sorry about that guys, I should have payed better attention when Althiof left the Tower. That was my mistake. Assume that Burne just said that Althiof was the constable, that he didn't motion to him, i.e. because he was no there. I will get a post up soon. Kinda had a rough day yesterday and so far today.

My wife thinking it a good idea for me to relax cooked some onions & mushrooms w/ some thc concentrate, as a spread for my Father's day steak. Unfortunately she used the concentrate as you would cannabutter, and put about a tablespoon into the onions, butter, and mushrooms. Now I'm not a normal user, plus I've never smoked, I've only ever had edibles, so I've been completely out of it since lunch time yesterday. And not in a good way, it hasn't been fun.. Focusing on the computer has been difficult at best.

I did point that out politely.

Generally, I'm not reading any threads I'm not a part of, as it's way to much to keep up with up to six active threads at a time, especially when this game can move pretty fast.

So, I didn't ignore anyone.
