Althiƶf paid the smith with 30 silver pieces for the work.  "How many days would you say that should take, good smith?"

"My thanks for your assistance, good smith.  I shall return soon.  May Moradin always keep your forge hot, and your hammer strong."

Going outside, the dwarf looked up to the sun to estimate if he had time for one more visit before needing to get ready for service.

Brother Smythe looks to the arrival of Stormrider. He has already stopped work for the evening and was starting to clean up the smithy. After his inquiry about a longsword Brother Smythe takes a moment and walks over to a rack of swords he has against the wall. "Well, I have this sword, its of Elvish design." he brings it over and sets it on the table. "A Half-Orc and Baklunish fellow sold it to me, we don't normally get many Elvish swords in here. It was rather banged up with I got it, but I was able to clean it up and buff out most of the scratches. Looks good as new." he says. The blade is of very fine quality, and sharpness it looks like it may have never been used, and the metal has an almost reflective sheen to it. "Since its Elvish, and made with quality, I could let it go for three hundred gold." he says.

Brother Smythe looks at the two rubies and brings them up to the lantern light to look at their quality, he bites one of the gold coins to check its worth. "I'm sorry, you are a little short on funds here for the sword. I could offer you another sword". He places the Elven sword back on the rack and grabs another, its less fancy, but still a solid sword. "You could get this one, for the two gems." he says.

OOC: it says he's willing to let go for 300 gold. I am offering 300 gold. Can I throw in a potion of healing to make up 500 gold or owe him some money?

Luckily for Stormrider, the Smith was still cleaning up his shop, and hadn't closed. He listens to the account of the sword and relays what he knows. "Yeah, the Half-Orc said he got the blade off a Hobgoblin the two of them ran into on the North road. To be honest neither of them really knew what the sword was with all the dirt and grim on it, so they sold it to me." he says. After hearing the story about it having belonged to the Princess and her Protector, the smiths face turns sour. "Its a shame, I keep hearing stories bout how bad its getting out there, I'm happy to be here in Hommlet, I just hope Burne and Rufus can get the Keep constructed soon. I don't want any of the violence coming this way." he says.

The Smith says. "That is your call. I purchased it off the Half-Orc, I feel for the Elves if it belong to them, but the Merchant inside me says, they should have kept better hold of it." he says. "But I'm closing up, if you need anything else, come back tomorrow." he says.

Brother Smythe shakes his head. "I had to shut down the forge, I don't want this wind causing embers to burn down the entire town. I'm going to have to get them to you later, after this weather passes. I should really check into getting my forge below ground like your kind, then I could work even when the weather was bad." he says.
