 | Burne's Badgers consist of around 20 men at arms. Training in the use of sword and bow. The Lieutenant is Gallen Muret, Gallen is standing inside the walls of the Town's defenses, directing orders to the men at arms to start preparing the compound for the incoming storm. "You there, get those shutters closed before the storm blows us to the nine hells." Gallen yells. He notices the newcomers at the gate of the compound and steps over to the gate and greets them. "Hail Travelers, what can we do for ya.?" he asks. |
| Gallen nods in understanding. "No problem, right this way." He leads you into the barracks, where you see a large common room with beds, chests, and armor and weapon racks along the walls. Gallen leads you down some stone steps in and into a dungeon like area that doesn't get much use. He points out one of the cells. "You can put the goblin in there." he says. "Yeah the weather it was bad, but this is really bad." he says. "If you need anything, I'll be upstairs getting this place buckled down." he says. |
| Gallen shakes his head. "I don't but I can ask the rest of the guys, if I find one that can help I'll send him down". he says. |
The goblin stirs and then wakens. Its eyes wide. He tries to back up into the furthermost corner of the cell. Hissing and baring his teeth. He starts rambling in what you think is goblin. The goblin sneers another look at the Dwarf, and then speaks in a rough version of broken common, but enough to understand it. "Ooh, fat arse make good stew!" The goblin says towards the Dwarf, and then looks at Ali. "Milkskin!" he shouts. "Let me go!" "I don't have nothing to say to you pinkskins. Save me from the spiders! Ha! What spiders!" he says. The Goblin watches as the acid boils away, and tries to jump even further up and away. "Fine Fine, what do you want to know, Anything, just don't burn my skin!" he says. "Lareth, Goldenhair, he has brought the two clans together, and others." he says. "He has been sent to the area to rebuild a force of men and humanoid fighters to gather loot and restore the Temple of Elemental Evil to its former glory!" the Goblin squeals with excitement. "Lareth is gonna destroy Hommlet!" he shouts. "Naw, He is a Humie, like him, but with pinker skin!" the goblin says. "Not sure what his last name is, Goblins call him golden hair, because of his hair!" he adds. "He's at the Moathouse!" he says. "I don't have no loyalty to him, my face is more important!." he squeaks. "All dead, went back to them, and they were all dead, not sure what happened, place had been looted too, all our treasure, whomever it was even plucked out the eyes of our lord and savior Maglubiyet!" he says. "Stinking Elves, Both of them!, We ambushed them when they were camping in the forest." he laughs and giggles a little. "Knocked out the longear wearing armor, he went down like a sack of potatoes. Took the longear women to the Moathouse, took all her treasure, shiny treasure!" he says as he licks his lips. Laughing again the Goblin remembers. "We tied up the longears like rabbits and dragged them to the moathouse for Goldenhair!." he says. The goblin quickly snatches up the food and the wineskin, trusting the two of them that they are not poisoning him. He drinks up and eats the meat inside the ration, tearing at it with his teeth. Comes back down into the dungeon area. "I haven't been able to find anyone that can speak Goblin." he says. "Good news though, the rains let up, and the storm looks like its moving out." he adds. "Xavi doesn't know much about Goldenhair or how many he has at the moathouse, he has been recruiting for about a month now. He used to visit the cave and talk to Gort, the Hobgoblin that was in charge of us. I don't speak the language they were using to talk, so I don't know what was said. Once Goldenhair showed up at the cave with a group of six Gnolls, boy did they stink, it took us a few days to get the cave smelling back to normal after they left." he says. "Now gimme the stew!" he says as he takes the stew through the gate, and starts slarping it up and chewing the meat. Still kinda mumbling through bites. "Goldenhair is one of those Priestly types though, kept talking about an Elemental Eye, and was wearing really weird purple robes." he adds. Xavi says. "Mostly with Intimidation, he sends a squad into our tribes and forces us to join them, those that refuse are killed, and well goblins don't like getting killed it puts a hamper on things." he says. "I've seen a few other tribes come and go, our cave was a resting spot for them. My tribe was the Broken Axe Tribe. We've had those of The Bloody Shield tribe. I've seen Crooked Moon, Moonclaw tribe, Skull Crag, and Scabby eye tribes, but just a sparse number, not like armies or anything." he adds. Xavi shakes his head. "You guys are giving me too much credit, I'm not a tactian, plus I don't sit there and count out many others he had with him. There was once that he brought two Ogres and an Ogre mage into the cave. That was something. The Ogre mage did a lot of magical tricks for us, turned things different colors and made the food taste better." he says. Xavi shakes his head. "I'd rather be set free ya know. Not stuck behind these bars." he says. "You prolly think I'll run off and tell Goldenhair, but ya know, if he found out that I told you any of this, I'd end up on the end of a spear." he says. "You could lemme go, I'll head south, never look back." he says. Xavi scoffs. "I saved my own skin by telling you everything you wanna know. If I ran off to Goldenhair now he'd know I told ya, and I'd be strung up, or worse, the Ogres might eat me!, Not good, not good at all." he says. "All ya gotta do is look the other way, open the gate here, and you'll never see me again. Never, I promise!" he says. At this point Gallen had come back down and was listening. "Of course, will do." he tells Ali. "Fine, but I'm getting me some beauty sleep!, I don't have anything else to say." he says as he slides the empty bowl and cup back through the bars.
