We'll bawlz DM you pushed it all the way to 1000.  When it gets there we don't have the option of opening up all the pages as one long continuous visible page.  Now we gotta scroll through 41 different pages when we try and do a find search to remember something we wrote earlier or are looking for someone elses :-P

Thanks for that.

I know as a GM you can simply download the entire thread and search it at your leisure, and a number of GM's do when they start getting a whole lot of threads as a way to keep things clean when the archived threads start getting large.  Till then though being able to check back on something helps big time.

We don't need to do the boxing scene with Doran, just figured it would be something Korkas would do. Things are getting a bit more "difficult" around here so trust isn't as easily earned as it was in the beginning.

But for the sake of the story we can move along

  1. Moathouse? After Korkas and Althiof inform you
  2. Check Southern Road
  3. Other?

Well...

Bugbears and goblins and whatnot are going to be a number of days before they get back since they are heading to Nulb.  So we should have time to head south on the road to check the caravan and then the following day/or same one perhaps if we find nothing south/head to the moathouse.  Day two with the others away they will be less jumpy and worried as night/day one.  Or at least that is what I'm thinking.

I want to do the scene with Sir Standrenn being introduced to the others at the Inn. When Kossoth and him return. A little back and forth banter to let the dwarves get a few more hours of sleep, and then waking up around mid-afternoon to venture off on the South Road to check for the Ogres. I know I've given you a preview so far of what your gonna encounter. Try not to use that info until the characters have caught up.

I know not the right thread but Ali did go and check on his goblin prisoner feeding him breakfast and making sure all is still good with him.  Ask a few more questions, like how many of the Goblins would be more inclined not to help goldenhair if pressed in a fight they may loose, did he go into the moathouse and if so, what defenses are there like traps or big crossbows and such.  Where did goldenhair normally stay while in the moathouse.  If also, does he the Goblin have any friends who may be willing to join him in leaving the fight to someone else?

Virius Tesh:
T,

Apologies for the radio silence ... again!  Real life snuck up on me good and proper this summer and free time has not been a luxury I could depend on.

I know this tale moves quick, and I'd hate to think I was holding it up.  At this point, being so far behind — and free time for PbP not really being on the horizon — withdrawing from the tale makes the most sense.

I appreciate the life you have breathed into the 'common interactions' of the day-to-day village life.  I know it wasn't easy to juggle that many interwoven threads, but the story was definitely better for it.

Feel free to use/abuse Virius in whatever way makes sense for the story.  It doesn't bother me at all if he gets NPC'd (or dies tragically, or simply disappears or whatever).

I had a blast gaming with you and the gang and hope to see you around the boards.

Best,
SB

Not trying to be pushy or anything to the new folks so don't take it that way.  Wasn't sure if you knew what the DM wanted in the posts once combat starts Doran or Standrenn.  The others are more old hat and know the routine but if you haven't read up on any of the other combats...

Obviously we're PMing the rolls to the DM (you don't have to but I think it keeps clutter out of the reading of the post action and whatnot) but he normally wants your Initiative (d10+Weapon Speed), your Attack roll(s) targeting the creatures (and having the creatures name or the square designation in your notes for roll bit) and until they give us an AC number for what we are fighting as long as you would have hit an unarmored individual ala AC10 roll the damage for the strike as well.  If it misses then they can ignore the damage, if it hits they just incorporate the damage and move along without having to ask you or roll it themselves.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations II

Much as I want him here, this is my busy time so it's been good that I don't have to worry about getting behind.  Last time I traded messages he'd also mentioned RL being uber busy.  The combination of the two can be a real downer.

Plus side is that all of us players are logging even if we aren't talking meaning we'll be pretty good to go when he irons out the wrinkles and comes back.

In reply to Kossoth Zan (msg # 70):

Yes, good to see everyone is lurking awaiting the next action :)

RL can drain you like a vampire which is why I adhere to patience and lurking posting when one can.

Hope all is well.

Time to brew some new concoctions in the mean time for Ali - any suggestions??

OK Healing salves, lotions and potions/brews.  Probably dry leaves mixed with teas and other liquid ingredients.  Based on plNTS AND SOME Chemical mixtures of (heck if I know as a player right now).  Maybe even solves or liquids you soak berries in or fruits or use in baking??

Probably fire type chemicals to represent molatolv cocktails, dynamite, phosphorus burning, gunpowder ect.
Could be light producing only or heat and light too.  Fireworks stuff too

Sticky substance for better climbing, holding onto or griping.

greasy substance.

devices that can fly short distances like tops, whirlybird birds maybe fueled by the pyrotechnics

Substance to coat you to help protect against cold, heat, wind, rain ect.

of course substance to help with cough, hair loss, teeth rot, burns, making thing taste good.

Love potions, breathing potions

Gas bombs, smoke bombs

Some ideas thoughts.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations II

All look like good ideas.

I know I'm considering going through a Mithridatism process for Kossoth.  Use the venom that he took and administer it in tiny enough doses to build up a tolerance/immunity.  Of course since Type A Poison is the 'weakest' injection poison he wouldn't exactly gain much from it in the long term since it's far less likely for us to run into weak poisons when we gain levels and end up fighting tougher things.

Than again there never was an actual official rule for doing that so it just might make Kossoth extra crabby and nauseous the entire time he's doing it, lol.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations II

I jumped in today to see what has been said. And check the PMs. School started today for the kids and wife, and I started working Nights, so its been really hectic, I doubt I will be able to return to this on a full time basis like I used too. I apologize but my life has changed and has done a 180, where I used to stay at home and watch my sister in law now I'm working 12+ hours a day standing on my feet, with no access to my cellphone. its been a big chance, but something that needed to happen financially. Again I'm sorry guys.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 76):

It is okay, RL always takes precedence over a game. I can speak for myself, if you want to continue this game, at a much slower pace, I am willing to continue playing at what ever pace matches your schedule. I also understand that after working 12 hours a day that you don't have it in you to even post and want to cancel the game.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations II

I totally agree with what everyone has said.

All of us are game for whatever pace you want to set if you stick with it and us or if you decide to wrap things up that's totally kosher too.  I've done those sorts of hours and my wife has too so I know what it can do to you.

Re: ▶ OOC Conversations II

It may not seem too important to mention here since we're on hiatus at the best but I've got Dorian coming down the street and wanting to come in my yard.  So power might or might not go out over the long weekend.

Good luck with Dorian, we were able toavoid the hurricane and home now.

Yes, DM, if it is only 1 post a weekend to summerize what we do/see/actions I am good with it OR any pace.   R/L comes first and if you can DM us even very slowly cool - I am here too.
