Kossoth turns his head to Ostler with a curious look on his face, "Yes.  Nira pointed out the phrase...what was it....ah yes...For Tillahi, with all my love...was engraved on it."

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

It didn't mean much to the dwarf at the moment, but he had finished his plate, so he pushed it forward.  Althiöf was surprised that Kossoth was so open about business.  He thought it likely that everyone in the dining room heard every word.  That's been his experience here previously.

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

Ostler's eyes widen, and he shakes his head. "Two Elven Nobles passed through here about a week ago, they stayed at the Inn. Sir Juffer & Princess Tillahi." he says. "They never said why they were passing through Hommlet, I remember seeing them talk to Black Jay for awhile, but if you found her crown." He shakes his head. "I hope it was just lost and nothing befell them, they were good Elven folk." he says.

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

Kossoth frowned, "That is troubling...you said his name was Black Jay?  Thank you my friend, I will have to endeavor to speak with him about them.  A week isn’t that long of time as long as they didn’t run afoul of a permanent situation.  Still...for goblins to surprise elves...do you remember if they were traveling alone or with a small party or caravan?"

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

Ostler says. "I just saw the two of them, no one else. I felt it was strange for two Nobles to be traveling this far from Celene alone. Sir Juffer acted as Princess Tillahi's Protector. I know he stood by and watched when Black Jay and the Princess were talking, I didn't want to pry or eavesdrop, I try not to do that to my patrons." he says.

Dungeon Master:
"Did you say Elvish Princess?" he asks. "Do you have his crown?" he says.

"I didn't want to pry or eavesdrop, I try not to do that to my patrons."
he asks.

The dwarf successfully fought the urge to roll his eyes.

He whispered, "This might not be the best location to announce to everyone that we're holding a legitimate and expensive crown."

Ostler doesn't seem to overhear the whisper, he had stepped away from the bar to grab something from the kitchen. Upon his return he tops off both of the drinks.

Korkas wandered into the inn a short while later, making his way over towards the bar first "Mug of ale and something to eat" he says quickly before turning and finding his companions and walking towards them to take a seat "Any luck at the jewelers? Found a buyer for the armour if we ever want to off load it and another possible job."

Kossoth sighed slightly and quietly added, "If you always expect the worst in people that is all you'll ever see friend dwarf."

Looking to Korkas he nodded, "I've learned much in the short time upon returning yes, but it seems perhaps we'll head upstairs to continue the conversation."

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

If asked, Ostler will offer the usage of the private room on the ground floor. He slides Korkas a cup of ale, and then pours them a pitcher and adds a few cups to a tray. "Here ya go, if you all decide to use the private room for your conversation, doesn't look like the rain is gonna let up." he says as another rolling of thunder echoes across the countryside, and flashes of lighting light up the windows.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 348):

Ali rolls his "mobile lab" as close to the inn wall as he can, looks about and pulls a tarp like cloth to cover the main contents that probably should not get wet but can if needed. Taking a few loose items that need to be better protected including his back pack, He then takes a mental inventory of what he has left then covers it.  Takes some stray rocks to hold down the sides and shivers, hoping the wheel barrel will be safe for the moment.

He looks to the Inn and enters the main door and scan the room.  He takes his wet cloak off and calmly shakes it out the door some to keep most of the rainwater outside, then puts it back on.

Upon seeing the group or most of it gathered at a table, he ambles over - "May I join you all, err um it seems I am hoping to be part of your group as we are all strangers to this town and just completed a very exciting life passage moment."

Ali nods to Karkos, may I take a seat?

"Thanks, Ostler."  The dwarf took the tray of drinks.

"Let's go to the back room on the right."  Althiöf made his way back there, and placed the tray in the center of the table.

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

Looking to Ali he nodded, "Come friend, we do have things to discuss and our dwarven friend has helpfully procured a quiet room for us to speak of those things more privately."

Looking to Ostler he thought about it before he remarked, "If the jungle woman...um Yaotl, the bear sigiled wizard...err Virius or the man who says he's part of the might makes right path...I think his name might be Storm something come in if you could direct them towards the room to add them to our conversation it would be appreciated my friend."

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

Another crash of lighting, and rumble of thunder sends the Inn shaking. A few moments later a townsperson bursts through the Inn's door and yells. "Someone killed Jaroo's bear." The group can hear the sounds of the frantic man as he screams the news. Ostler leaves from behind the bar, and meets Glora who comes from the kitchen. The two of them move towards the front door, stepping out into the streets of Hommlet.

Re: The Funeral of a Friend....

'Why is it so freaking hard to get this group into a room to talk?!?!'

This was not something he wanted to get involved in, and it looked like it was getting uglier by the minute.  Suddenly the lightning of a brilliant idea entered his mind, and so much made sense.

He followed Korkas as far as the doorway, but the locksmith had the sense to raise the hood of his cloak up over his head to protect it from the wet of the raging storm.  Taking a dagger in each hand, he then held his cloak shut around him as he scurried out the door in an effort to keep up.

In reply to Althiof Morad (msg # 356):

Ah thanks my friend err friends then I will be happy to lend my thoughts and ear as part of the group.

Ali does not jump in fear but quickly turns his head as he was walking toward the room when the crazed person yells bears killed and a Jaroo.

He watches Ostler and one of the inn women plus the two Dwarves rush/go outside.

Turning to the others, Oh bother, guess we should see what the commotion is sighs, they may need adventurers for this and chuckles as he turns and puts his hood up, back into the rain he look up oh what a storm, if only I could hook up my electrical lighting catcher oh the things it could do for me.  And slips out the door looking as he goes to see what the outside has to offer - again.

Kossoth sighed as the others headed out into the commotion.  Killing a bear was no easy task thus he picked up his drink in one hand and his spear in the other he made his way outside to see what the trouble was and if it was going to lead to even more trouble.

The dwarf returned to the Inn and went to the back room where he had set down the tray of drinks.  He took a seat at the table where his back was to a wall and where he could look through the doorway.  He then took one of the drinks from the tray and enjoyed a large swig.

Oslter and Glora also return to the Inn, and Ostler goes over to the bar and grabs a bottle of his fine wine, and then takes it to the private room. "Thank you for preventing that fight outside." he says to all that are there. "The disagreements between the Old Faith and the Followers of St. Cuthbert have been an issue Hommlets been having trouble getting rid of." he says. "Have this bottle, its one of the most expensive bottles of wine I have in the Inn. Its called Celene Nectarwine, I'm told its made from moonberries picked only when both moons are blue, it was a gift from Princess Tillahi, when she stayed here a week ago. If trouble has befallen her, I think that she'd want you all to have it." he says.
