The northern door splinters apart under the blow from Windor’s maul. Beyond the demolished portal, the priest sees a corridor that travels for forty feet before terminating at a trio of doors, one to the north, one to the east, and one to the west. Only the eastern door is open, with a panicked looking Denagothian soldier standing in front of it. His eyes widen as he sees Windor.
”THE INTRUDERS!” he yells,
”THEY ARE…”
He is silenced as the ceiling above him collapses, squashing him flat with a highly unpleasant noise.
The adventurers who have remained in the tower rush for the spiral staircase, moving down the steps as rapidly as they can manage. The stairway sways threateningly as fragments of stone rain down from above like hailstones. As the group reaches the ground floor, a large crack having split the mosaic of the black dragon in two, there is a tremendous crash from above, an impact that send a furious tremor through the entire structure. The walls of the lower chamber buckle, but hold, the quaking from above slowly fading.
The western door of the circular chamber has been blown off of its hinges. In the corridor beyond it, the adventurers see a lone figure, engulfed in flames, shrieking in pain as it retreats westward, disappearing around a distant corner.
To the south, the adventurers can see, through a pair of open doors, the iron gate that secures the main entrance to the tower. Beyond it, clearly visible within the shifting yellow mist, the party members observe
half of the blue dragon, specifically the great reptile’s lower portion, its rear legs, abdomen, and tail, lying unmoving on the rocky plain.
Above, Jarder and Neuken can also see the lower half of the vanquished dragon, but neither adventurer is able to find any evidence of the upper portion of the beast.
The two also bear witness to the collapse of the tower’s second floor, chunks of stone flinging all directions as the structure’s third story, its topmost level, comes crashing down on the ruined area beneath it. Within a moment, the upper floor has essentially become the spire’s second story, though it leans precariously westward, the walls of the lowest portion of the structure bulging outward.

Even at a distance, the floating pair can hear a series of shouted curses arising from the the upper portion of the tower.
To the east, Jarder and Neuken notice a pair of Denagothian soldiers scurrying away from the tower, but both quickly succumb to the poisonous mist that lingers around the structure.
