OOC

This is the spot for all of the Out Of Character questions, comments, etc.

Let's keep it civil, folks!

Hey - more people!

I'm Radwa, your somewhat friendly wright, busily trying to build a transport cart for us before we all leave.

Hello everyone! I'll be playing Derrick: a Glaive. I expect I'll be taking a lot of hits for the team. I'm still putting together my backstory, but I'd like to tie Derrick into the party. Does anyone feel like they've had a stalwart brother watching their back their whole life?

Literally just posted in the Connections thread, I would welcome a connection: his backstory is delving beneath Srithal, in Malevich

Ok, everyone who's given me a character sheet so far in RTJ should have an editable character sheet they can work on.  Please fill it out.  (fancy boxes optional).

We've got a couple more players in the process of joining, and that will take a bit of time.

Once the characters are done with backstory, character sheet, cyphers, etc., I can start introducing them to the aldea, each other, etc.  Radwa is on a bit of a mission and I'm sure I can figure out some way for one or more of you to help.

Once everyone is up and running, we'll figure out the best path to moving forward, be it fast forward or more RPing to get there.

Also, I turned off the Requesting Players flag for the time being.  If you have a super-duper friend who would be just a totally and completely awesome addition to the game, we'll talk.  If the applicant is an employee of Monte Cook Games ... well, that would weigh heavily in their favor.

waves diplomatically

Hoa Sen is a tertiary of the Order of Truth, trained at the Durkhal in Qi in public speaking after repeatedly failing the exam to become a proper Aeon journeyman. She was meant to be the advance team for a semblage of Aeon Priests coming to study the Shimmering Veil, but that semblage is now long overdue.

I'm continuing to review the character creation process for folks, but we're getting closer to having a full complement ready to head out for the Shimmering Veil, or at least work to finish preparations for that departure.

If you feel that your character is ready to engage in Canthus (or the approach thereto), let me know and we'll figure out a way to make that happen.  You do not need to have all your connections established and/or Numenera assigned to do this.

Assuming I understand everything, I think the only thing Derrick is missing is his final Cypher. Is it ok to just roll for it?

Each player can pick one of their cyphers.  (see post in other thread I wrote recently).  If you want to roll for it, that's fine, too.  If you want to include cyphers from Destiny, you'd roll a 1d140 (roughly).

Lots of Oddities can be useful.  It all depends on the circumstances.  I did try to choose the Oddities with some care.

I like mine! And it was fun to design some aesthetics for it.

In other news: I think Hoa Sen is more or less ready to start.

OOC

A anthropomorphic red squirrel steps into view. His clothing is stylish and allows for easy movement. He has no armor except a pair of synth vambraces. A bow is visible on his back along with his pack. As he speaks, he removes his dashing feathered cap with a bow.

"Hello all! I am Mayhew, a Graceful Delve that Needs no Weapons! That said, I do carry a bow as it is useful from time to time."

"Excellent question! I'm a giant of a squirrel. I stand just shy of one and a half meters and weigh forty kilos and only some of that is in my tail."

In English units, he is 4' 10" and weighs 90 lbs.

Before we begin in earnest:

I am not always right.  I do not always make the best choices.  If you feel some decision I've made for your character (or another) is too harsh, too generous, or otherwise unfair, PM me.  State your case.  I am open to self-improvement.

Re: OOC

Mayhew, Agatho, and Derrick can post in The Way In thread when ready.  They're coming from different directions, but we can keep it straight, I'm sure.

To clarify, Mayhew approaching from the west.  Agatho and Derrick approaching from the east or southwest.

Re: OOC

Ok, I think everyone has completed their character creation process, including all assigned cyphers.  Let me know if I missed anything.

We have one or two still deciding on the way they want to enter the game.  Everyone else should be cleared to post in character at will.

In the interest of transparency and information sharing, is there any information you want posted or questions you want answered?  This could be game mechanics, "house rules", or whatever.  I just want to make sure that everyone has what they need.
