NEWS FROM PARIS
The King has renewed the following appointments:

• Comte Yves d'Ardouin as Minister of State.
• Vicomte Yves Bocuse as Minister of War

Monsieur Adrien Auclair's appointment as Royal Executioner was renewed for a year.
The Royal Governor of Paris, Lieutenant-General Baudouin Anouilh, appointed Justin Vaillancourt as Commander of the Night Watch.
Crown Prince Gaston appointed Vicomtesse Clarisse de Mesny as his Maîtresse-en-titre.
Madmoiselle Catherine Camille was appointed Matron of the Hostel.

Smallpox keeps taking lives. This month Monsieur Jacques Lannoy was laid to rest. He died in utter poverty.

Major Bastien Durand bought the title of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Normandy Marines. He was immediately appointed acting regimental commander while Brevet Brigadier Hubert Cortot is brigade commander. In this role he tried to persuade the Bvt Bde to volunteer the brigade for the front, but he was not interested. Reolutely the Lt-Col volunteered his Royal Normandy Marines for the winter season. They will leave for the front the first week next month.

Colonel Beau Geste volunteered the 27th Aquitaine Musketeers for the 3rd Frontier Brigade. They immediately left for the front.

Major Renné Gade bought the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 27th Aquitaine Musketeers before leaving to the front under the command of Col Geste.

Lt-Colonels Durand and Pierre Dragos were noted for their conspicuous consumption.

Week 1
The King entertained a Minor Envoy from the Kingdom of Denmark at the Louvre.
Lt-Col Durand was spotted at the Rue Bourdel while Lt-Col Dragos was practicing the rapier.

Week 2
At the Louvre, His Majesty discussed affairs of State with His Ministers and the Cardinal.
Lt-Col Durand practiced the cutlass.

Week 3
This was the beginning of a two week period of partying at the Louvre.
Lt-Col Durand attended church where he donated conspicuously.
Lt-Col Dragos turned up at Scudery's for a night of carousing with his paramour Madmoiselle Marion Robiquet.

Week 4
Lt-Col Dragos attended church with Mlle Robiquet and donated conspicuously.
Lt-Col Durand practiced the cutlass.

NEW FROM THE FRONT

1st Frontier Regiment (Flanders)
The Field Operations were inconclusive.
The 1st Front will turn to the defence during the Winter Season.

2nd Frontier Regiment (Burgundy)
The Field Operations were inconclusive.
The 2nd Front will continue the field operations during the Winter Season.

3rd Frontier Regiment (Provence)
The assault was inconclusive. Cololnel Beau Geste led the 27th Aquitaine Musketeers to a pyrrhic victory for which both he and 1st Batallion Commander Lieutenant-Colonel Renné Gade were mentioned in despatches.
The 3rd Front will concentrate on defence during the Winter Season.

4th Frontier Brigade (Languedoc)
Engaged in repulsed assault.
The 4th Front will conduct field operations during the Winter Season.

Royal North Highland Border Regiment
The Field Operations were inconclusive.
The RNHB will conduct assaults during the Winter Season.
