In reply to Lileth (msg # 729):

"Indeed we should!"

Turning back to the innkeeper, he asks

"So how much for 2 rooms for a week? There should be a discount..."

Well not really but for the week I could offer them for 2 crowns and a half a florin.

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 731):

"That is 22 and a half silvers for 7 days. But how can I cut a florin in half? Lets make it 2 Crowns for 2 rooms for 7 days."

If he does not accept this, what are the other options? Renting is starting to look more feasible. This is indeed very expensive...

Re: Campaigning in Zenther

OK, He is quoting you an amount, not a coin... it's a 5 ½ Quid sortof thing and doesn't require scissor or a saw.
Basicall he offerd you two rooms for a week at $450 ... it's one of the nicer inns ... think hotel.
He is offering you a 20% reduction for renting for the week. Your counter is a 29% reduction...

You can try a merchant roll or sweeten the deal in some small way, to persuade him to take it...

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 733):

'Sweetening' the deal usually costs money, so not saving. Merchant roll, rolled skill. I get that it is one of the fancier hotels, but it is still extremely expensive, and much more than Mustafa is used to paying.

The  Innkeeper squirms  Allow me to ask my owner if he would agree to such a sum...

He disappears and returns a short while later with a well dressed gentleman ... you can roll IQ to see if you remeber him... but he sems to remember you  You were off fighting in the North west were you not? Some time back before the enemies armies collapsed. So you were summoned?   he looks you and Lileth over carefully.

A friend? ... no an aquaintence you made. But he is inclined to be generous with those who have fought to throw out the Nobles

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 741):

Ah, I see. Well, he will remember him then, and respond appropriately. He will also let him know the war continues in the south, where some nobles have recently been dealt with.

Paying for the week, he will rest the night and discuss matters with Lilith. Basically, he likes her and is open to marrying her.

And I sort of like you and am willing to marry you as well ... I'd like to raise a family with many of the beliefs and morals I was raised with and much inclined to drag you back to my  hill country home. The House there is mine.

In reply to Lileth (msg # 745):

"Yes, but that depended on no Noble setting his sights on the village. I would prefer to be in a position where I can defend myself, of leave if I cannot. It is false security if you have to depend on ugly people not to notice you.

I do spend a lot of time on the water, but that means my life is mobile. It is also what I make of it, but it is also open to seeing the world, and perhaps making it a bit of a better place that we found it.

But we cannot raise a family on the water in a little boat. I want the children to have some stability, friends and grownups they can go to for guidance on many subjects.

Mustafa is clearly upset a little.

"In that case we will need to wait and see what the future holds, because at the moment, I have little else to offer."

He will then move on to making plans to meet Malcolm.

Malcolm seems quite interested in hearing some first hand observations from the Zenther campaign and you find yourself with a mid-afternoon appointment that afternoon.  Lileth asks to attend too.

Re: Campaigning in Zenther

You are both usered in to a meeting with Malcolm and his wife Ryllaazade. Both listen antentively, but only Malcolm asks questions.
He is quite intersted in the Baron's you have met and their behavior, he pointedly asks if they could be trusted to unction under his rule.
He snickers a bit as you describe all the posturing and jockying for lands and titles. Typical  he says.
In time he asks about Lileth and why she is there ... that causes her to speak up about her lands, their way of life and their desire to maintain it.
He smiles and nods Not the first land to shrug off nobles rule, even Ryllaazade's people (he motions toward his wife) limit what a noble among their kind may do.  Ryllaazade Nods, It is so
The Duke smiles at Lileth, I think we can oblige your people so long as we all work together in Harmony, I will have to charge taxes, lest everyone else complain and try to move to your lands, but we can keep them low and permanently so.

Ryllaazade then smiles You seem to enjoy each others company, is there a relationship brewing?
The Duke smiles, My wife is very discerning and very wise ... perhaps such a relationship would further all our goals?
