Mustafa was already distracted by her hug...he bows when he enters the Dukes presence, as custom requires...keeping his questions regarding wondering where the Dukes wife is to himself.

Mustafa also smiles, but says nothing. There is nothing he can say that would add, so he waits for the Duke to get to the reason for the meeting, glad Lilith gets along well with the queen.

So Mustafa, I need your eyes nd honesty to assist me in dtrmining who we keep, who we remove and which of my officer and diplomats is arranging things on the side.  We will set up some specific words you can use to let me know who is doing what and whom we have working hard for the duchy.
I expect we will also be able to provide some invisible ink and other things that will allow you to say more, more openly, while wring a normal letter with ink that will rinse off easily.  Do this and I will see you with some lands to manage and raise a family on.  Would that satify you Lileth? Mustafa will certainly need you assistance in this endeavor.

You willwant to write while you or you and Lileth are having some private time, depending on how you wish to do things.  We note Lileth's wisdom in maintaining her standing as a Lady and will ensure that by titling her Lady Lileth of Freeplace.  You may be herescort, suitor or whatever relationship the two of you work out.  We just need to know very soon, so wecan get you back to Zenther. You have been having tea... biscuits, crumpets and the like along with two or three choices for teas.

yes, I do remember that discussion ... then separate rooms (again) and no further talk.
So I guess I am looking for a formal proposal and acceptance.  A date and place etc.
That will also require some agreement as to roles, as Lileth isn't going to be some little quiet, pretty but unheard wife who just does whatever her husband says.

No, I gathered that. That is why I have sought her input into the role she seeks.

But before I propose, i want to do my homework so I will be sure she will accept. Dates and places would be good if I knew that far ahead...unless she is willing to get married next week in the royal court!

Well actually it could be as soon as tomorrow, as the Duke needs you back in Zenther ... but then he is the Duke and things can be done quickly if need be.

Lileth has no issues with a quick wedding, as she is used to little weddings with just a few locals around and not a lot of fuss in her home lands.

Lileth wants a say in things... she can't know what will arise, but she wants to see the commoners treated well, aided in their work and able to live and prosper... She wants firm control over those who see themselves as above the rest.

Mustafa agrees. He is not sure how that will look when it comes time to make it happen on land, but he has always lived that way, choosing not to serve those who do not treat those under them properly. But then, for Mustafa, the boat has always given that freedom. But he absolutely agrees with that principle.

She smiles I thought we agreed on that. So are we going to get married? We form a team and make decisions together?
