Oh I think the Duke for this... but his wife is very nice and very helpful. I would also hazard to say she is not someone to trifle with.

He will approach the Duke, through the proper channels, to bring that request with Lilith to him.

You get a very prompt reply in the Duke's handriting suggesting about 10 AM the following moring in your best clothes ... and bring a valise.

Mustafa will comply, and assist Lilith in doing likewise. Pretty much all he has with him will fit into a small bag...and he suspects Lilith may have little more, unless the Queen has been generous.

She still has the green dress.  She suggests you go with her and get a set of nicer clothes for more formal ocassions like this. She leads you to a near by store where her dress is recognized.  It takes little time to get you a pair of pants, fine stockings, a ruffled shirt and a nice coat. The under things are provided as well along with a cravat. Lileth drops some coins and has the person waiting on you place your everyday clothes in a traveling bag after you remove your purse and anything else you feel you need.

Can Mustafa wear his armour under it? He rarely has gone in public without it, so he would ask, though expecting a negative answer. Same for the knives...but he has his own cash, and will insist on paying for his wedding suit himself!

The armor is a no go... the knives are a bad idea in the Duke's presence. I am sure you had to surrender them each time you have visited.
They will not accept your money. Lileth smiles and says I'm not buying this time, if that eases your mind any.

Hardly ...on the way to the Duke's palace she lets you know that she didn't buy her dress either, it was a gift from the same store.

Indeed, and the guards see you coming aand wave you through... the doorman sems to have a slight grin as he directs a page to take you to the Duke forthwith.

The Duke and Duchess rise to meet you, te Duke Nodding Good to see you didn't run off while smiling.
But it is the duchess who loosens things up  My, you clean up very well indeed Mustafa.

The actuall service is quite short with the Duke and a Christian Cleric performing the service.
The Duke and Duchess are both witnesses along with his chamberlin and a lady in waiting.

They then inviteyou to Lunch with them, privately. There it os the Duchesswho opens several small containers and offers a variety of alchemical items along with the treated paper and magical ink, that dries invisible, but reappears with Lemon juice, vinegar or any other mild acid.



You may choose any (reasonable in the GMs view) 9 items in the alchemical listing in the Magic Book starting on Page 210.

Most seem magical. The nine I would choose would be Luck, True Sight, Alchemical Antidote, Health, Universal Antidote x2, Friendship, Truth, Regeneration. I was thinking of resurrection, but you did say reasonable...

But no healing? Interesting anyway. Such Magic as there is , is alchemical in this world.

They are, although he Duchess is slightly surprised by your choices.

You ar duly married in a small ceremony, with two rings which are exchanged.
The duke provides a very fancy certificate and a much simpler oe you can travel with signed by some nobody and stamped with official seals.
He provides an emblem on a chain that indicates that you are empowered by him.
Otherwise you have a pleasant lunch and go back to your rooms to get ready to leave in the morning.

Mustafa will find a good waterproof writing box with the inks and paper he needs (using Low Tech, added to character sheet).

He will also get a signet ring and ensure the Duke is familiar with the seal it creates, as an extra level of protection. He will also look for waterproof containers with which to send messages.

Finally, he will get what instructions the Duke has for him about where to go and what to do.

The first night with Lilith is special, and he will make sure it is. They will be a little late getting up next morning, but are soon ready to go.

After some iscussion, the Duke is fine with you going and getting your boat; but he feels you should sell it in Zila, as you won't be using it much. Alternatively you can turn it over to a family meneber or trusted subordinate.
He then wants you to head back to the area that Lileth is from, the free people, and pass his offer to them.
Next, he wants you to visit Lord Fauntleroy and insure his position. his time he is either for the Duke or not. Or Not means he will not continue as baron, but don't threaten him with that, his decision must be made willingly, not coerced.

You have some dispthes for Zila as well, which will indicate you are a trusted envoy. That should ensure your safety and all the help you need in getting out of town ;-)   No one seems interested in the Duke's eyes and ears being around.

Mustafa is a little upset about selling the boat, and would prefer to send for his cousin, a river fisherman, to take over the vessel.

He takes mental notes regarding the rest of the mission, asking what his powers are if he sees events that are not in the Dukes interest.

Not a whole lot because he has no power of enforcement, but in so far as he can, he is to uphold the Duke's vision of how things will work.

Your cousin is a bit hesitant, but eventually agrees. He has a youg Arabian woman he hopes to marry and bring along. Her dad is a Fishermn as well; you know of him but don't know him very well. Ahmed Ibraham Zoshuri is his name; his Daughter is Faraday.

Yes, to start. You have a letter with seal from the Duke. for them.
It bsically says that he is their lordd and no ther may claim that position.
It guarantes low taxes and most all the freedoms they want.
