The story line picks up here.

You hear men in the hallway, the door is thrown open and you see a bunch of Guards... the sergeant yells KIll them and rescue the Baron.

But you sense a moment of hesitation.

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 1):

"This medallion, given to me personally by Malcolm to prove I have his authority, was not recognised by these Zenther nobles who clearly do not represent the Duke. Perhaps the sergeant knows this ...come on in and talk, sergeant..."

He positions himself behind the Baron, with the Baron facing the door and his knife at the barons throat, from behind.
