In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 561):

Resettlement, yes, but not lands for them as a group. Remember, speaking to the cheif, he represents the entire group, not just a bunch of individuals. Houses do not always equals lands, which in these times were often associated with titles, which we are NOT offering! So technically, we are offering lands, but not what they are likely to associate with that!

Re: OOC-1

Basically you are offering them a farm to work... call it 40 acres or whatever... in what was Zenther.

Only Squire Worley can offer land within his holding and he can be as selective as he wishes.

As for this group staying together, not a chance as they all have family in different places.

Re: OOC-1

Whoever wants can go back to where they came from. Ideally max half stay. Probably will end up being more restictive here as Keyan plans to make them hierachically report into the chief.
The Leader is welcome to stay. The second in leading is less so.Late here, so off to sleep.

Re: OOC-1

I am getting so slow in my old age...

I made a Breakfast bread with apercots and prunes and raisims in it and offered some of it to my son when he came by.

He saud  "sure, regualr bread I see..'

I said, "no, it's a fruit bread for breakfast with coffee".

My wife is giggling and my son says, "and it keeps one regular, right?"

I totally missed that one.

I uploaded a picture to Group 3, mostly for Chris1234 but Bluedwarf might enjoy it too.
I am amused, but obviously there is still a bit of irritation. Thought you all might like a laugh for July 4th.

If not familiar, The top fellow is George Washington and the bottom fellow in Robert E Lee.
You may well know them, but assumption would be wrong of me.

No, just time to think ... without inputs about rain, dogs being sick, various medical stuff, what I want for dinner, the dishwasher needs emptying and phone calls about all the things others want me to do/buy/get involved with.

A part of it is my own fault... I have at least three stories I am working on beside what's on RPOL.
One posted, well one chapter posted and the next expected soon. My mind is normally this active, but my fingers move slower on the keyboard.

Re: OOC-1

@ FoF - If it's ok to ask, are the "three stories" fiction books you're writing? Or plots for (other) RPGing?

***

@ Mustafa - Maybe together we can work up a package/idea that FOF and adopt/adapt and feed back to us?
e.g. I (the player) would be interested in doing some in-your-face combat. (Actually fighting stuff rather than sitting on the top of a hill directing troops with flags or whatever). It's completely fine if that's versus bandits, ogres, undead or whatever the flavour of the day is. We'd probably need to finesse it so that the interacton is off the books, i.e. the PCs directly rather than as leaders of small armies.
e.g. it's either an ambush, or something "off the books", so maybe one of Amelia's darl secrets, or some vendetta of Mustafa or, perhaps, someone threatening the woodlands (which would engage Kenyan). What are your thoughts?

In reply to Baron Kenyan Worley (msg # 581):

Yeah, an assault of orcs on one of our lands would lend istrelf to that. Mustafas approach has always been to lead from the front, so he has had backup for when things go pear shaped. But some solid enemies that have to be dealt with the old fashioned way are the bread and butter or fantasy RPGs...

Re: OOC-1

I have a really strong yearning for a dose of the old fashioned way.

(had a couple of tough days and feeling like I want to throttle something. In DnD, that's def orcs. Don't know how tough they are in GURPS. I do recall being shocked how touch orcs were in Rolemaster - about as tough as trolls in AD&D versus a level 2 PC party).

I doesnt have to be integrated to the manin story/campaign, although it can be; a side trek is often a nice change of pace and context.  :)

So, Mustafa, what thoughts have you that def lend themselves to Mustafa & Kenyan dealing with it in person (rather then in the safety of having dozens and dozens on troops around)? COuld be as simple as the pair are doing a tour of the estates and they encounter <whatever it is> obviously that's subject to greography etc but, frankly, I have no grip or concept on that at all.
