No sandwiches... a nice 22 pound bird with 7 folks for dinner. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, roast vegetables, Pan Gravy and Pies for desert.

Re: OOC-1

Well it's a bit smaller now that everyone has eaten... but I expect we'll be making a lot of freezer dinners from it.
Many of them are better than the original turkey in my view.

35 cavalry, 14 footmen versus maybe 20 men, at most? Time to start rolling up a new character sheet?

Or a change of plans perhaps ...  they are a long arrow shot away, you have some time, very little, but some, use it wisely.

Re: OOC-1

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 505):

Moving will allow us to be seen, though. I got from your description that the underbrush was not so thick, and on horseback, they would be on us fast, so if we try to run, they will cut us down before we can get anywhere near back to the boats, which are a mile or so behind us, at least.

Re: OOC-1

No, the underbrush is thicker than that, the horse could force their way through, but could get seriously cut up if infantry stood and fought there; the lower branches would also be a threat.

Behind you is an open area of say 50 meters before there is another wooded area with a small feeder creek and a little gully in it ... these small wooded areas along the river continue all along the banks, often due to small drainage gullies. You'd guess the Boats are 4-500 meters behind you anyway.

Ah OK. That sounds closer and safer than I understood. If chased, we can stand at a gully...

Re: OOC-1

I think I finally found it, it wouldn't open or show up as it is an older Word format, now blocked by Microsoft.
But I'll look for yours anyway.
