Starting cash is a function of your wealth level... I'd expect Runt is Poor or close to it...  so a -15 disadvantage...

Money size/diameter is as follows:
    Copper/Bronze Coins
Farthing -  1 Cm or .40 inches
Half Pennies - 2 Cm or .8 Inches
1 Copper Penny - 2.5 Cm or 1 inch
    Silver Coins
Silver Piece or Stag - 1.25 Cm or ½ inch
5 sp is a Florin - 2.5 Cm or 1 inch
    Gold Coins
10 sp is a crown - 1 Cm or .40 inches
1 gp is a sovereign - 1.5 Cm or .60 inches
5 gp is a pound, or Guinea -  2.5 Cm or 1 inch

Thickness varies a bit, with Farthings and Crowns being rather thin and the Penny, florin and Pound being a bit thicker.
The Crown is not popular as it is so easy to lose ... the rest are regularly used... farthings are easy to lose too, but no one much cares.

In reply to Finger of Fate (msg # 11):

Sorry, poorly asked there, I meant Average starting wealth ($1000 or $2000).

Ah, I'm guessing that the crown is a gold coin.  And Runt would care about losing a farthing.  On the other hand, since they are easily lost by people who aren't bothered by that, he just might find a nice amount of lost ones (his eyes are much closer to the ground ;-) ).

Thanks for the answers.

It's not personal, he stays carefully out of reach of most adults.  ;-)

Hmmm, if you're in the capital then Runt very possibly has guided some customers to your "stable" so to speak.  He's got high levels of Street Smarts and a good score in Streetwise.

Funny thing was I was thinking runt would fit in well with the group.

And the Priests would love him :)

Honestly though our stories seem to mesh well together.

My girls are high class, enjoy them as you like.

Um, at his age that activity is not interesting (even if he knows what's going on).  Now a bit of cold hard cash might be appreciated.

But at least they would know each other.  And yes, he should fit in and could even be of use, at least until his bedtime. ;-)

So already you have started to team up ;-)

I will try and get this game moving, but the next few days will be tough... Tomorrow my Brother turns 83... I am his guardian and he is not well... Saturday my youngest leaves for 9 months in Faroffistan, I just got my Oldest back from there in February, so I am not pleased.

That's rough. Here's hoping that your youngest has an uneventful trip downrange.

And that your Brother is in as much peace as he can be.

LOL, cash it is.

Yeah, we will soon own this town.

Real life comes first.

Wish your bro a happy birthday, from us and I hope he feels better.

I know it can be hard caring for a loved one.

Had to google that one.

Top definition

Faroffistan
A location or country somewhere away from where you are, so far that you didn't know that you didn't know where it was.

Downrange?
Oh military.

That's a tough one, all you can do is support him and remember letters are gold.

I hope my advice and wishes are appropriate and taken well.
I have been in the service and am currently working as a caregiver.

I have quite a bit of military time... 26 years. It  seems to run in the family.
All my brothers and my sister, two of my sons and both my parents served in one way or another in Uniform.

I think it happens that way all around the world. The whole family following suit, its the same pretty much for my family.

26 years, man that's a long time. Kinda wish I had did the same could have been retired long ago.

More of a rural law enforcement type, yeah.

Medieval Ranger rather than fantasy Ranger.

Google medieval ranger.

Seems like their archers that know the woods like the back of their hands.

Not sure the difference between medieval and fantasy rangers.

There was a show on TV called Walker Texas Ranger,  that was cop style ranger.
And nature type to my understand is pretty much how it was described above.

Depending on which sources and time periods, a medieval Ranger is like a minor office. An individual paid by the nobility to maintain and protect a certain stretch of rural area. The older version of our current Park Rangers.

Fantasy Rangers that have cropped up in modern fiction tend to be more protecting nature for nature's sake, might know magic, and would normally have some sort of unusually intelligent animal following them around.

Some Ranger Lodges were sort of like small fortified buildings or compounds apparently, especially later in history. I suppose it makes sense when you live in the middle of nowhere and have a dangerous job.
