After Kory had healed, he and the girls took a wagon and headed towards the Palace of the old Grand Duke looking for D'Aastards, whereabouts.


Inola
Inola had gotten word, that D'Aastard was no longer there, but might have left a some clues to where he might currently be.

Using her connection with the guild master, she had been able to get him to authorize Kory the use of a wagon.

Before sending them off she warned him the guild master had some people also searching the area and not to play too rough with them.

Melinda Gail
Originally only wanting to take Melinda and Gail with him.

He eventually caved in and agreed allowed Quinlan and Ursula to accompany them, to appease Eve.
Eve Quinlan
Quinlan and Melinda, both having been there in the past and Quinlan more recently, proved useful.

The gaps in Melinda's knowledge of the palace's layout, where filled in to a large degree by Quinlan's, more recent visits.

Kory had suspected that Eve had suggested Quinlan go, mostly to get rid of her.

Much as he hated to take Quinlan with him, Eve had been right and the woman had been useful.

Quinlan drew out a rough map detailing the Palace and the area immediately surrounding it.


Ursula
While Melinda drove the wagon towards their destination, Ursula handed him, his old merc gear, newly resized and repaired.




It had been years since he had wore it, never expecting to be involved in a new war as a pimp.

While donning his gear, he felt a tinge of regret that he had not anticipated, that the girls would need armor too.

He had taught them to fight and defend themselves, mostly to keep themselves safe so that they could escape danger or last long enough for him to arrive and handle things.

Shaking himself from his thoughts, he pulled out the map Quinlan had drawn and studied it as they headed toward their destination.

Melinda whispered, "Kory, Kory we're here."

He looked at the girls, his party was much too large for his taste.

As much as he wanted to leave Quinlan to guard the wagon, he assigned that job to Ursula. She was a big woman and good in a fight, but also a pacifist by nature, so best suited for this job.

If it had been just him and Gail, they could have snuck in avoiding possible encounter's.

But as good as the map was, there where simply too many wholes in their memories, to ensure he could navigate the palace alone.

The gates are wide open and you ride through, Melinds points toward the main entrance and that's where the wagon stops. Everyone dismounts  and the four of you head into the main door, standing ajar. There are people here and there, some are servants, others ruffians and one or two seem to be upper class. Melinda pulls you to the left and up stairs... no one pays much attention.
D'Astard's quarters are wide open... things are obviously riffled through ... but Melinda goes to the desk while Quinlan goes to his dresser, both seem to have some idea of what they are looking for... Gail stands beside you gawking   damn, they be a lot of house nay this big... an soft... the rugs, and furniture ... maybe I need to go upscale.

The situation was better and worst than he hoped, it looked like the organized resistance had already been handled.

All that remained where the dogs fighting over the scraps. He understood dogs, kick them with a strong boot and they would stay in line, show weakness and they will swarm you and pounce.

He looked over at Melinda, glad he had made her buy that hip quiver, at the right angle it showcased her ass, well.

"You definitely could do it, maybe Quinlan would give you some pointers and offer you some introductions." he said while he scanned the area making sure no one tried anything, as he spoke.

He and Quinlan often butted heads, not that she ever tried or wanted to assume power. He would have long ago gotten rid of her,if that was the case. She just had a habit of being a pain in his ass. 'She had a mouth on her.' he thought grinning and groaning inwardly at the same time.

Quinlan being a noble herself, knew how they operated, intimately, so he said, "That woman knows her stuff. Just don't let her infect you with her bullshit." ,complimenting Quinlan and beating her ego back down with his words.

'Let her know she's appreciated, but not special.' he thought.

"You stay you, Gail" he said, then smiled when his eyes fell upon the crowbar that dangled from her belt, like a teddy bear. For it brought back, pleasant emotions from the night he first met her.

This place would make a great whorehouse and would be an upgrade, from their spot in the basement of the Lusty Mermaid; but the staffing costs would break the pockets of many nobles, though the thought was a nice dream.

'Dream?' he scolded himself 'Business, its always about business.'

"You should help them look too Gail, but stay in eye-shot." he said in the gruff voice of a parent, warning their kids not to leave the yard while they played. Slapping her perfect peach-shaped buttocks hard with a firm hand; he sent her off on her task.

He patrolled the windows, glancing out hoping to find one that would let him keep an eye on Ursula too. Then he joined the girls in their search, staying alert to danger, for his greatest concern was their safety.

"Don't be shy about collecting any taxes, his lordship might have left us as recompense, for all the trouble he has caused the good citizens of Catheran." he added as he slid the mattress off it's frame and began cutting into both pillows and mattress with his knife, digging through their contents.

Quilan Scolded Kory STOP!... these are people of substance, they don't hide things in a mattress. And those things are worth money!  She slips a side drawer out and giggles... they hide things like this ... she slides a narrow drawer out of the back side of the Drawer.

Neither Melinda or Gail have found anything yet.

Squeezing his knife just a little tighter, he stabbed the mattress even harder one more time for good measure. It wasn't that he hated being wrong, he didn't like it, but it happens to everyone. What he hated was Quinlan being right.

"Don't forget my cut, you got taxes to pay too Quinlan; Kory tax." he said reminding her of what she already knew, out of spite.

Stand up from the mess on the floor, he methodically began to examine the bed frame, with his fingers, caressing every inch of it as if it was Eve's responsive body.

All the time, he remained silent not thanking her for the guidance, he would be damned if he stroked that ego.

Gail finds some papers that direct people to send units and move in certain ways...  they are perhaps a day or so old, so of value to the soldier types perhaps.  You find nothing else.

Maybe we should try another room ... Baron de Sad or Count Turpitude's? Melinda suggests.

"Good ideal, Melinda" he says taking the papers from Melinda The guild will be interested in this, maybe interested enough to offer us some coin.

"And good find by you Quinlan too." he said as an after thought.

'She deserved some praise' he just hoped she wouldn't let it swell her head.

"If no one objects lets follow Melinda" he said,it wasn't that he ran a democracy, but he would be a fool to move on to the next room, before everyone was finished ravishing this one.

The girls all stop and head for the door.

Kory and the girls followed Melinda to Baron de Sad room.

Melinda has the lead and stops at the door to look and listen before slipping out into the hall, she leads you down the hall to a door that is Locked. She tries it several times, and uses some fore, but it doesn't open.

Kory waits for Melinda to open the door. Seeing that it is locked and won't budge he looks over at Gail and says, Girl it seems your up, see what you can do about that door.

Kory scans the hallway, continuing looking for any unwelcome visitor, who might have been drawn in by the noise.

There is noise off in the distance, but no one you can see close by. Gail pulls her 3 foot lock pick out and attend to the door. She has to apply herself and push hard, but the door opens with a banging noise.  There is a moan from inside.

Hearing the moan Kory, steps forward shots his arm out, as a silent warning the girls not to proceed.

He looks into the room from the doorway, trying to discover who made the sound, and if what he assumed hurt them was still there.

Though still concern about the noise in the distance, this threat was closer and more immediate.

The Girls all stop and look at him questioningly  The door opens into a small vestibule which prevents seeing into the room, with an opening to the right where you see a dresser and a simple wood chair.  The floor is carpeted.  there are no further sounds. The inside of the room seems fairly bright, with beams of sunlight on the floor by the dresser.

Cautiously Kory steps into the room with knife in hand; looking all around him for the person who made the moaning sound and for any person who might be waiting in ambush.

As You pass through the vestibule and turn to look into the room, you see a naked female tied spread eagled on the bed. She has been tortured a little and used for some mans pleasure. The room is a shambles, as someone made a hasty departure and just left her there.  There is no one else apparent in the room.

Kory has seem a lot of sick shit, did some himself. But what he saw turned his stomach.

He wasn't a fan of rape.

Girls get in here. He said with urgency in his voice, while gently removing objects from the woman.

Evaluating the situation he came to these conclusions.

He was a better fighter than any one of them, but all of them might be able to take him. He felt not shame in this fact but the pride an instructor, who knows he has prepared his students well for the harsh realities of the world.

He was the only one strong enough to carry the injured woman.

Ursula was the nearest one of them with any medical knowledge, that might be able to help this woman.

Ripping a blanket and sheet off the bed he covers her then gently picked her up and began issuing his orders in rapid succession.

The woman is not especially small and is a loar to carry... she must be close to5' 8 or 9" tall. She is likely quite attractive , but not like this.  Kory has to stop once to rest; then with a lot of effort makes the wagon , but he is exhausted (temporarily at -6 to FP). The other girls only saw some of it, but were able to grasp the severity of what had been done and became very protective. The few folks you met on the way out took one look and gave you a wide berth.  Gail thoughtfully snagged all the girls clothes and the ladies dagger on the beside table.
Ursula takes one quick check and says ... She is alive, but there is nothing we can do here, we need to get her back to Eve and a place to rest safely.
She gives Kory a shot of medicinal Brandy.

Kory nodded, knowing that Ursula, who sometimes served as Eves assistant, knew best how to proceed.

After the girls boarded the wagon, he handed the girl up to them, then boarded it himself.

Resting her head on a bundle of rags. Kory drank some of the brandy,holding it in his mouth; then transferred it to hers slowly, as not cause choking.


"Don't worry your safe now." he spoke softly to her in a raspy voice, then said, "You heard the lady, lets go Melinda!"

You make your way back around to the gate, drawing only a little attention. Once into town you have several street toughs try to jump aboard, with  no success. Melinda fires a Quarrel at one that just misses, but causes him to jump away from the wagon, while Gail catches another across the right hand with her crowbar, causing him to scream and fall off. The rest decide to look for easier pickings.

Hearing the sound of the crossbow firing Kory moved forward on the wagon and looked out.

"Next one won't be a warning, but straight in the nut sack!" he ridiculed the man in a shouted; taking Melinda's crossbow, he reloaded it for her, before handing it back.

Kory reached for his knife, and released his grip on the hilt, when he saw the thug fall to the wayside from Gail's hit.

"You want to ride with Kory, you gotta pay Kory tax, first! he said with a snicker.

Heading back into the wagon, Kory crumpled the paper in his pocket; he would go let the guild master know what he found after he was sure this woman was ok.

"Quinlan, do you recognize her?" he asked her before the wagon stopped.

Ursula adds I heard she and Kenny had an argument, he threatened her if she didn't do things as he ordered.

Kory nodded as he took in the girls words.

Kory looked at the woman more closely, this time with the appraising eye of a flesh dealer.

When the wagon stopped he carried the woman into Eve. "Eve we got a patient for you."

Eve was his bottom bitch, basically the woman that keeps thing running during the times Kory is not around.

She doesn't trick much, but will do so in a pinch.

In Kory's hierarchy of hoes, she was queen.

Eve3 takes her in a room with her meds and stuff...  you can hear them talking softly. Eve is busy for what seems like a long time before she comes out and closes the door.

She'll be OK physically in a few days ... may take longer to get over what was done to her.  She felt like she had been sold into the noble's hands permanently, which scared the hell out of her. He was apparently a deviant fuck. She wants to talk to her pimp ... I think it's a bad idea. No Pimp sells a girl off like that, even for a couple of gold crowns.... they can make more than that in a few weeks. They had argued in front of his other girls. I think we don't know enough.

Kory listened to what Eve said, "I plan to keeping this one, if she is willing. I need you to pad the bill. If you hold her hand, charge her and don't be nice about it, I am trying to avoid a hostile take over."

I dunno... appreciate being saved, but I need to understand if Kenny knew what he did.  Asha replies I have worked with him for almost three years, I thought I needed a bit of a bump in pay as he had me teaching the new ones... he got really pissed. Later told me to never talk back to him in front of the others, cause then they all want more outa each trick.

Lowering his voice he said,"Tell Ursula, to act as her maid, get close to her and keep a watch on her. I don't trust, that she will stay here, longer than she needs to get well enough to travel."

"Ask the girls to get me more information on Kenny and Asha. If they see Runt, see if he will join in too, offer him 10 silver again."

'This girl was already costing him coin with no guarantee of a return on his investment.'

Breaking away from his thoughts, he asked Eve, "Do you got any ideals on how we can close this deal?"

Then went silent again, thinking what his next move would be and waiting to hear what Eve had to say.

Eve thought for a moment then smiled ... it may already be closed. Let's see what we find out about Kenny the Man. I'll put the word out ta the girls and Runt ifn' I see 'im.

It takes a while, but you learn that Kenny was really put out withAsha... a couple of the other girls said others got more than 33%  and he beat them up too. He's been really abusive to any of them who don't just turn tricks and give him the money.  One of them says she overheard Kenny talking with a man about taking Asha and making sure she was never seen around here again. He got three gold for her. two of the four asked about what Kory paid and jumping to him, but are afraid of Kenny.
Runt says Kenny owes some man money and is being squeezed pretty hard... thinks it's for some kinda drug he needs.

The Situation
As information flowed in Kory's direction over the next few days, a picture grew in his mind about the current situation.

He, himself, only charged, his girls, Kory tax after daily minimums were met. Even a copper level hoe like Ursula, could save money, by working hard and doing side gigs, like helping Eve out.

But Kenny, liked to keep his bitches broke. It was a method of control that worked, but also didn't lend itself, to breeding loyalty in his girls.

Proven by the fact, it seemed, Kenny's girls where looking for a way out and wanted a change in management. Only Asha seemed to still have any semblance of loyalty Kenny.

He didn't care about them, the property he most wanted was Asha. He liked her work ethic. She was loyal, even to a creep like Kenny. What he didn't need, were more problems.


The Plan
The players were: the guild, the drug dealer Kenny owed money to and Kenny 'the man', himself.

He had no intention of pissing the guild off or assuming Kenny's debt to the drug dealer by taking him out, if he could avoid such action.

Also this mysterious drug dealer was an unknown. He had kept his identity secret and  already pimped Kenny out.

He looked at the bill in his hand. He could sell the debt to the guild for a few copper, that way he could keep that hoe, Kenny broke; but he dismissed that ideal. He didn't want to turn Kenny into an investment the guild wanted to protect.

What he needed was for the guild to back his acquisition of this new asset.


Inola
Kory instructed Inola to take three gifts to the guild-master: The first the piece of paper, he found in the palace, the second his share of Quinaln's find from the palace, and third the information he had on the mysterious drug dealer operating in their territory.

Next he told Inola, that Kenny had already sold Asha to a noble of D'Astard's estate and abandoned his claim on her. Leaving her for dead not even bothering to go to the palace to see if she lived.

Lastly he told Inola about Kenny's debt to their family and how Kory was willing to settle the debt peacefully, in exchange for Kenny giving up all claim on Asha.

All this he told Inola to reveal to the guild-master.


Asha
Believing his plan would work, Kory went to see Asha.

Kory looked at Inola's back and tilted his head slightly thinking briefly to himself 'I thought she liked him. Maybe a spat?'


"You want to talk to my girls? Sure. Ursula gather the girls, to greet our guest. I know they were worried about her." he instructed Ursula.


After Ursuala left, Kory tells Asha an edited version of the intel he got.
"I too was was curious why Kenny would betray someone loyal to him. So I had send out feelers."

"It seems Kenny did sell you to a noble and not just hire you out." ,he said

He avoided mentioning the reason that Kenny was on drugs, because he didn't want her to feel any sympathy for him nor did he mention Kenny was being squeezed for that same reason.

"This gold, he then used to pay on a private debt." He continued.

'No need to ask for your share the money is gone'

"The reason he never came and checked on you was because, he wanted you out of the picture. Whether that meant you leaving with the noble for good or just not to return to his stable, I don't know." he continued.

'No sense in inciting her to seek blood, betrayal is enough.'

"Either way it appears the Kenny has abandoned you.", he concluded honestly

'All roads lead back to Kory'

I assume You are NOT present when Asha talks to the girls...

She gets pretty red faced as Kory explains what happened.... It's always a relationship... you have one with all your girls ... the word means how you work together. You want to be leader, OK I will go along until you betray one of us. Then I won't. You want me gone, no problem and I 'll see that you get your money. But we work as a team. Asha laughs at him... You'll get money for healing me... and a bit for saving me... I'll keep you in mind if I ever need an ally. Satisfied that this potential problem was leaving his Territory, he let the anger drain from him.

She smiled, I like you, pity we couldn't work together, but I will make it worth your while to have saved me... to a better future.  she raises the sheathed knife in a salute and slips out and is gone.

Kory sighed 'He had taken a big loss. Not all investments pay off.'

What he needed was some stress relief, before he went to bed, "Ursula, it's time to ride horsie."

Ursula comes in  I think you screwed up in letting her go. She was a smart girl and might have been able to help you really turn things up a bunch.  Guess we'll see.

The next day about midmorning you hear that Kenny was killed and robbed.  His room cleaned bare. No one knows anything and no one seems too upset.

A few questions seems to indicate he was trying to run out on Lenny the Louse, whom he owed over a crown to. With out Kenny, all his girls packed up and moved out first thing in the morning too, no tears shed. None of you pimps found out soon enough to hire any of them. The Guild masters just shrug when asked.

Kory just looks at Ursula daring her to gloat

Inola responds  He hasn't had a bath since this thing blew up... he stinks like a dead skunk.  And he isn't being gentle like he normaly is, and I don't need bruises. He'll take the hint and get back to normal and that will resolve that issue. He could use a good lay and a good nights sleep. I'll take good care of him.

Melinda nods ... doesn't matter, no nobles around and the bureaucrats are all too busy. Haven't had a trick in days.

Eve replies We don't know a damn thing you don't ...  but no one has managed to open the gates for free movement since that stunt Runt pulled that got us a day of trade. Maybe you should go back up by the palace and see what you can learn.

"Sounds good," he asked, left and returned to the palace.

Eve asks What Happened? and listens as runt describes Kory's action, her face changing to disbelief and then laughter which she can't control. She helps him onto a bed and removes clothes so she can rub him down with liniment that reeks of crushed plants. She also sees that he gets some soup and some herbal tea that tastes a bit like stewed sock, but she insists he drink it. Then she covers him and puts out the candles before leaving. Kory finds he cannot fight the sleep and doesn't wake until morning, where he finds Eve snuggled up against him. His brain briefly thinks It's fun time ! but that thought vanishes as he tries to move. It's "Oh My how I hurt time", instead.
Eve wakes up, smiles and rises, bare as the day she was born, before throwing on a robe ... You are going to be sore for a few days Kory, I'll do what I can, but it is going to take time. And so you know, after this, it's going to be easier to re-injure your back too.

Kory's expression dropped. " You think its funny, but if I hadn't hurt myself, we'd be good for the next few months or at the very least so we'll defended, that no one would ever try and move in on our territory." said Kory defending himself.

" We'll the mission was a bust, but with this slow time. We can still have Melinda, train up the girls on the crossbow. I don't like them having only to depend on a knife to defend themselves. Women should be ranged fighters, wearing their target down with a storm of death." <red>

All the loot is loaded into your rooms at the tavern ... so not a complete bust ... yet anyway.

Kory did a rough estimate of the value of the items. He wondered if, it would be more useful to keep them or sell them. Both had risks. Firearms were not something one could get ones hands on everyday.

With the coup was it, if they had the flee they would be useful in a fight. But the things he could get from selling them to the right buyer, would be useful too.

He looked at Eve and said, "I don't Eve, what you think we should do? Sell them or Keep them. I am not sure what direction this coup is heading. If we have to fight our way out the city the guys could be useful; but so could the things we could get by selling them."

She thought for a moment and shrugged.  It's just a choice, we aren't fighters and don't want to be, so it's a bit of money tied up in something we don't care to use.  But if things get ugly, which is still possible, they could take out a single big enemy better than anything else I've seen , it would seem.

"Yeah that's my problem, too. Their value is not something, I can causally toss aside, both in coin and in an emergency. We'll stash this stuff, for a time when we need it, either for money or escape. Kory decided finally and relaxed.

"So whats on the agenda today?" he asked.

Nothing special, business is still slow, but picking up a little. Rumors abound, but someone fired something. Off the palace which seemed to unnerve the enemy and they did withdraw last evening, although they came back this morning..

Kory decided to relax today and let his back heal up. He toured his girls, seeing what they where up to.

Most are out in the tavern looking for business... all have a good bit of their assets on display.

Kory sits down and has a drink at the bar.

Then answers- No, He seems to be hanging around outside trying to find a way back in ... the walls have him stymied for the moment and his soldiers have lost much of their bravado. It takes only a small reverse to send them packing and D'Astard knows nothing about instilling confidence and desire to win. Seems you can't threaten them enough to make them want to fight hard, if you try, they desert in squads and platoons; at least that's what Master Black says.

"Not this week hun, I am outta commission, go find Padraig, and tell he that he owe you for putting me out of commission. Send Gail too." Kory grinned "Tell Gail she can only go after your done with him. It's been a couple of days and you are moving better... still uncomfortable if you do certain things, but generally you can get around.

Rumor is that the Duke is moving south and cutting off some Noble forces further to the east, he is anywhere from a few leagues away to two days march or more. What it means to you is that the forces around the city are vastly smaller and that food and such are able to sneak in ... in fact trade is up to about 40 or 50% of normal. The Rebel forces are very concentrated and seem unwilling to send out smaller groups to cover all the gates.

Oh, and business is picking up a little.

Kory like hard that things were getting back to normal, with his new loot hidden and his back feeling more normal with every passing day. He started doing his rounds on the girls again.

Checking in on them seeing what problems they had and such. He liked when life was normal it meant he did have many worries.

Perhaps he would seek out a new girl or find a gay guy to join his stables.

He still wanted to purchase battle gear for his girls.

Also he, wanted to increase his emergency supplies.

He could imagine the guild letting him keep the wagon much longer, but with the coup, he  figured they had more important things to worry about.

The problem as he saw it was he was too satisfied and that could lead to disaster.

The Lusty mermaid was a good, tavern, and he had thought of purchasing it.

But would that mean an end of his dream of traveling more.

Travel was good, but so was roots.

Things are changing, Kory is alert, but it seems the Duke is taking steps to remove the rebels.  Kory hopes some just paid soldiers show up.

Kory sits back and sips his drink.

Ursula looks it over carefully shaking her head ... It's way beyond making horse shoes Kory, even with the tool chest, it's not something I could do...

Kory nods and says, "Well even broke it should still be worth something. I'll store it for later. We already got too many people sharing our little secret." as he returns the pieces to the bundle.

By that evening, the gates are open (until Dark anyway) and new soldiers wander the streets. But business doesn't pick up much.

After placing his bundle , in his hidden stash, Kory decides to leave the tavern and take a stroll through town. Though walking leisurely, he don have a purpose, that is find out, why even with the influx of potential customers, why business hasn't picked up. So with his ears open, he enjoys the Catheran twilight.

And you find out, an Inn called the Tapped Pony (with a tapped pony keg pouring out beer that a tired pony is drinking on their sign), is doing a Booming business. A quick look inside shows plenty of ladies working here ... and Asha overseeing things. And Quinlan is standing beside her talking.

He wasn't sure what caused the vein in head, to bugle more seeing Asha or seeing Quinlan talking to her. his first instinct was to burn the place down and let Quinlan and Asha enjoy each others company in the afterlife.


So two women he saved were fucking him in public. He though about slipping into the shadows and watching them, he thought about walking in on them, and demanding to know what was going on, in the end he decided to slip into the shadows and return home.


'Traitor' was his only thought as he returned home.

Eve comes to sit by him.... we have a problem, and I fear it will get worse, one of the girls has jumped ship and several others are talking ... the new place offer s all the same benefits plus a bigger cut of the profits.  None will tell me who is doing this ... but they apparently have also cut prices a little and serve cheap small beer rather freely.

"I saw. I ain't going to force them to stay. If they want to go I'll let them, I didn't get into all this, with the intent of being anyone's slave owner.

I was trying to starts a family and protect my kin. So if they want to leave, let them."  Kory said as he sipped his beer grumpily.

Besides I can't bear the sight of traitors, if I stayed here and stewed on it, I might..." he shook his head, he didn't want to utter the words.

For now, he would sit and watch and see how things played out.

Kory placed his other hand on top of Eve's, inhaled and relaxed a bit. "Means a lot babe." and leaned his head against Eve.

Gradually the tension in is body began to relax, and he no longer had to keep as tight a reign on himself, to hold in the anger.

Finally smiling he said, "You know I got you, your family."

Eve smiles Melinda said no way she's skipping out, and they weren't even interested in Ursula who didn't much care as she wasn't much inclined to leave. They offered Quinlan, Melinda and Inola a very much better deal than what they offered me or Gail; Gail's thinking about it, and they aren't sure how well her style will work ... we both can answer that. If she works out well, she'll get upped to something closer to what the big draws get. They wanted me for my healing skills but offered maids wages.  Melinda says her sixth sense had bad vibes ... but she too wants out of whoring for money. Maybe it's time we cleared this place and looked elsewhere for a new life. You talked about going back to mercenary ... I can doctor, Ursula can fix stuff and Melinda can cook as well as hold her own in a fight. What do you think?

"I think it would be fun. Only stayed here in town as long as I did for the girls. Just hurts they would a few coins tempt them. Makes me wonder why I wasted all this time here."

It takes a while, Neither Inola nor Quinlan choose to face you, they just disappear, their things gone in the morning, you are surprised at how silently they did it with no one hearing them ... but a window sill provides an answer as to how.

Gail is different, she comes and confesses her wish to try this new job.... she appreciates all you have done for her and doesn't want to leave on bad terms. She really wants your blessings to go...

"I am not sure you'd call it a blessing, but, I try to keep anyone who doesn't want to stay. I am not sure if I wish you well or not, but I know I don't wish you all any harm. That's the best I can give you right now." He said honestly.

It is about two hours later, just before the Tavern opens that Asha walks in with two large guards behind her, she motions them to stay by the door and walks to where Kory is. Kory just stated at Asha for a long moment before he spoke "It's not your fault, the bit the hand that fed them.

Asha's face hardens...
