Hello, fellow player(s)!

I like this crits rule.  I could see all 1s meaning the opposition gets some kind of bonus (maybe an extra die on their roll?).  Or if it's against a flat target number and not an active opponent, then some other significant inconvenience (I've had fun in the past with things like "while you are struggling to climb that wall you turn the wrong way and rip the side of your backpack").

Speaking of which has anyone thought of tone? Serious fantasy like on a cable show drama, or Pratchett's Discworld fun?

The Risus rulebook leans hard toward the non-serious end of the spectrum, and I'm in favor of that.

Risus does mean laughter in latin, after all.

New addition to RTJ, I would appreciate if yall would fiddle your cliches accordingly:

When you apply to our game do provide the following:

A name of the character and their cliches (4,3,2,1 format)

1 cliche should include your race (or the latest from WotC is now Species)

1 cliche should include your class (we can discuss multiclassing later)

1 cliche is totally up to you (weapon, pet, sidekick, vanity mirror)

The 1 die cliche you can fill it in or opt for 3 rerolls.

I can see where species cliches would work for things like "roll Dwarf to recognize what type of stone that is," or "roll Elf to charm everyone with a poem about trees," but could you give some examples of when someone might roll Human?  I can't think of anything myself.

Impulsive, short-sighted, adaptable, diverse, tall, socially adept, or not, innovative, quick to learn...

Lots of circumstances where the strengths and weaknesses of humanity could be leveraged.

You will note the first post is up and dangit there are cliches IN IT!

Once again inspired by the incredible Dungeonautica, (most) everything in this dang adventure is going to have a cliche. I am going to try to give my paragraphs cliche, right off the bat.

Words have cliches that could spin off into alternate adventures. Ye Gods its like a Risus sandbox!

Now if we only had some more players to enjoy this cliche carnage!

It can be a notice thread, it just needs to be unlocked. Go to Edit Thread and deselect Closed Thread. Honestly, I prefer the current game thread to be a notice so we don't have to scroll... I'm lazy.
