The orc finally perishes.

The captain orders a retreat. The civilians had already managed to cross. Half of the army manages to cross the river. The orcs start to cross after you, but a group of militia with bows volley arrows down on the shore and stop the pursuit. The remaining orcs, their forces savaged, fall back.

The caravan continues to cross the wasteland for days. Sesshomaru's wounds are tended to and you receive a commendation for your fearless defense in the previous battles.

There are not enough rations for everyone. You can make survival checks to see if you can help supplement the supplies.

The quartermaster and the civilians are happy when you return with water and food for a few people. The desert was not plentiful with its resources, but you found a cactus of decent size and some scorpions that were edible.

Your travels continue. Officers mention that you are close to the far side of the Wastelands. One day, as you are out foraging, make a spot check.
