Character Creation Rules and FAQ
Table of Contents
I feel so posh making a table of contents.
1. Basic Character Creation.
2. Background.
3. Characters From Other Games? (And what if they aren't level 20?)
4. FAQ

Baisic Character Creation
If you're as obessed with making character sheets as I am, this will be fun!

Starting Level: Level 20, NO mythic tiers or abilities. (See Part 3 for characters you might already have that are not quite there yet!)
Race: Anything non-third party. If you have a really great idea for a homebrew, 3pp, or 3.5e race that is compatible, feel free to put a link to it and your case in a post right here!
Class: Core, Base, Hybrid, Alternate, Unchained, Occult, and as with race, if you feel something should be included, make your case!
Alignment: All.
Stats: 20 point buy.
Background Skills?: Sure, why not. (Completely optional though.)
Unchained Skills? No thanks.
Starting Cash: 880,000 gp. No more than half on a single item.

Godhood aspiring level 20 characters don't come out of nowhere!

Obviously you are going to need a long background for this. This is the time to go all out on everything that has happened to make this character the way they are today. How did she end up with a talking sword? Why did he show mercy to that enemy? What quests did they undertake to get where they are now. All Adventure Paths (Except for Wrath of The Righteous,) are assumed to have happened, and your character may have even been involved in one of those! Go wild!

Returning PCs?
The end of a campaign doesn't have to be the end of their lives.

Do you have a character you have played that you think has a shot at the Starstone? Go right on ahead with them!

If they are not yet level 20, they might qualify for A few quick adventures to level them up to a place where they have a fighting chance! If your previous character is level 10 or above, not in any other active games, then I'd be happy to run a few modules (or adventures that I/we come up with) for you!

Probably the most important part.

Q: Why are there no questions yet?
A: Because nobody has asked any!

Character Creation Rules and FAQ

Question for GM

Capstone abilities state even if a class does not have a capstone they should receive an ability for reaching level 20.

Classes also list alternative capstone abilities.

Would you allow 8 evolution points as a capstone ability?

Twinned eidolon is a waste for my build and 4 points that ignores base form requirements is a rather weak alternative. I don't need the ability to ignore base form for what I'm doing. But 8 points that does NOT ignore base form requirements would be superb.

Weaker than twinned Eidolon essentially but stronger than 4 points ignoring base form requirements. An in between of sorts. Right now my build incorporates the alt cap stone.

Twin Eidolon (Su)
At 20th level, a summoner and his eidolon share a true connection. As a standard action, the summoner can assume the shape of his eidolon, copying all of its evolutions, form, and abilities. His Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores change to match the base scores of his eidolon. He can choose to have any gear that he carries become absorbed by his new form, as with spells from the polymorph subschool. Items with continuous effects continue to function while absorbed in this way. The summoner loses his natural attacks and all racial traits (except bonus feats, skills, and languages) in favor of the abilities granted by his eidolonís evolutions. The summoner retains all of his class features. The summoner can keep this form for a number of minutes per day equal to his summoner level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. The summoner can end this effect as a free action.

Alternative Capstone Ability
Source PPC:CoL

When a character reaches the 20th level of a class, she gains a powerful class feature or ability, sometimes referred to as a capstone. When a character reaches 20th level in this class, the following new ability can be selected instead of the standard 20th level class ability which would normally be gained. In some cases, a capstone specifies what ability it replaces. A character canít select an alternative capstone if she has previously traded away her class capstone via an archetype. Clerics and wizards can receive a capstone at 20th level, despite not having one to begin with.

Grand Eidolon (Su)
At 20th level, the summonerís eidolon becomes an absolute monstrosityóa thing of legend and terror. The summoner gains 4 additional evolution points to spend as he likes, not subject to subtype-based requirements.

Character Creation Rules and FAQ
Can we use the Variant Multiclassing rules?

Can we take Leadership?

Can we Craft/cast Permanency on spells/use Wish as part of our starting funds?

Character Creation Rules and FAQ
If we meet the requirements of crafting an item and have Craft Wondrous Item (or whichever feat is applicable), can we 'make' our own magic items at the half-cost price? I assume not, but thought I'd ask.

These are relevant to my interests. Also, what do you think of:
- adding abilities onto an existing item (at +50% over the normal cost of the increase)
- slotless items that cost double what they normally do but don't take up an item slot

Re: Character Creation Rules and FAQ
Can we have other PCs craft items for us "at-cost" (after char gen)? Or In-Game later on?
