Re: OOC

Sorry for this to be taking much more time than anticipated. I have checked everything and aside from a few suggestions which I have already told people we are ready to go.

Re: OOC

No worries.  RL is hitching a lot of people right now.  I know adjusting to working from home has been problematic.

Re: OOC

Working from home has been disjointed cause my only 'office space' to use is the main room where the computer is hooked up to my TV.  It works, and i'm glad that I can keep working from home but it's far from good.

Re: OOC

Ever have a moment where a character idea jumps out at you all of a sudden? Just had that for Morrison and I think it fits a bit better then the original idea for him, that being the Penal Legionarre.

Re: OOC

I'm just waiting on the GM to give me the ok with my idea before I post, basically just imagining a slightly more advanced World War I/II field medic. His planet was just on the cusp of the laser era but due to deep running cultural beliefs never fully trusted advanced tech, which caused there army/pdf to be trained mostly in the use of solid projectiles and melee. So the idea is Morrison carries his standard issue Lasgun but prefers to use his shotgun as there are less moving parts to go wrong, he also carries an old flinlock that is a family heirloom gifted to him by his father prior to shipping off world. As far as medical supplies Morrison has accepted a few of the more advanced pieces of medical tech but still carries 'medival' tools such as metal scalpels, bone saws and the like incase it is ever needed. To put it simply Morrison is more likely to put his hands wrist deep in another mans insides to save him then rely on technology. This kind of plays into his stats leaning more towards melee with his WS of 34, his Strength of 33, his Toughness of 36, and his Agi of 42. But also can of explains why he is a bit of a so so medic since his Int is only 28 and basically as his Medicae or Int goes up he is going to get better at using the medical tech though will always fall back on the 'old ways'.

Re: OOC

Pretty awesome concept.

Really though, just as cool as it is to be on the high curve it's equally cool to make characters that fit into that inbetween zone.  Our RL tech level, WWI/WWII, Victorian, Late Renaissance...all exist in the 40k universe simply by virtue of there being billions of worlds out there and statistically they will exist.

Re: OOC

Yeah was sitting there and then saw that I had a Primitive weapon spec and that kind of set this all off, was going to do full primative but didn't want to be that much of a detriment in combat so bumped it up a bit and came up with the thought that there advanced enough to generally understand all the high tech stuff and how it works but they prefer to fall back on 'old ways' as they are time tested and they don't quite trust high levels of tech yet. Not to the point they won't use it but if there is an 'old ways' option they will use that.

Re: OOC

Given the technological disparity and insanity of the Imperium... Honestly, anywhere in the last like 100 years technologically is probably viable from a combat perspective so long as you're only still going up against low level gangers and the like in improvised padded or flak armour. Those old ways may horrify Zethina though given her frameworks of modern living are via a Schola Progenum and then Scintilla lol.

Also, feel free to presume IC that Zethina returns any acknowledgements. I'm kind of just letting people filter in before I put out any further responses. She's caught in her own head space at the moment since she's probably still got recent memories of her own imprisonment/chastisements/etc plus the weird head space of one who is indoctrinated.

Oh I can't wait to see Zethina see Morrison work, especially if he has to preform a field amputation. Just picturing her face as she see's him pull out the bone saw oh it makes me smile.

Re: OOC

I mean... by contrast... the Space Marine Apothecaries and Tech Priests technically use miniature chain saws with monomolecularly edged teeth to do it.

Either way, Zethina is amusingly naive thanks to her Schola upbringing. :D

Re: OOC

Yeah but thats fast, probably surprisingly clean, and pain free. This is Morrison having Zethina pin a man down as he tournaments whatever limb he is about to work on before handing Zethina a piece of boot leather and telling her to put in in his mouth as he starts to work and there is screaming, blood, and emperor knows what else. She might be Schola but seeing that haunts a person or atleast shakes them a bit. I'll say it now if the GM gives me the ok for this character idea and someone ends up turning to a substance of some kind to cope with what they have seen Morrison do to friends and enemies alike, remember the one man you never want to fight in melee is the doctor, I'll count that as a win.

Re: OOC

And I hope no one thinks that is serious, just joking as far as the later part is concerned unless someone would be up for it though so far looks like the group is shaping up to be a pretty stern faced squad.

Re: OOC

Bear in mind that Zethina was a carrier arbitrator; she has seen some messed up stuff herself. It's her own naivety that got her trapped in the game of politics and sent up river. She burned most of her good fortune by laying the ground work for an inquisitorial investigation and fast tracking the administration of justice at gun point for said investigation with her own efforts and got picked up some years later from where she had been sent to serve the trumped up charges.

And I don't think you're being serious but not like the former arbite isn't capable of her own scary moments at 41 BS lol.

I don't plan on being a scary shot, but if I can the ability to wield two Mono Axes then we might get to have some fun with his decent melee stats.

Re: OOC

Ideally I want a proper Arbite shotgun and one of the Locke Pattern Shields... plus, you know, enforcer carapace at the least. Always a nuisance that the Inquisition can snatch up the person but some how doesn't get their assigned equipment.

Re: OOC

I think the idea is they want to see that your more then just your equipment, they want you for who you are honestly more then what guns you bring. So not having the best toys is a good way of giving us our 'entrance exam' I guess you could say as I imagine the first table is when the Inquisitor has just plucked you from where ever and is testing you.
