Re: OOC

I should be good to go by Saturday night/Sunday at the latest.  Just got half the materials I ordered to build our fence instead of all of them so there will only be so much I can get done before I run out of stuff.  Unless I get them quick (and nothing moves quickly these days) it'll be a done in stages thing.

Totally suboptimal but what can you do?  You can go kill heretics, traitors and witches of course!

Thanks for having me back.  I need some fun to wash away the crud of all these last months.

If anybody dislikes the formation feel free to edit, don't actually see that it makes any real difference.

Re: OOC

So GM Ive been wanting to ask this, for sheer cool factor can I be allowed to use the axe like a bayonet? I just love the image of Morrison axing someone in the shoulder just to use them as a stabilizing position to shoot with his shotgun.

Re: OOC

I mean... It's be done to some extent in real life. Heck at one point that was literal halberd rifles... Granted bad idea but still.

Also apologies for silence been left repeatedly exhausted by work as the volume of it to be done has surged on both home and professional sides.

Re: OOC

So I wonder if there is a way to do a Necromunda-esq RPG game. I just had the idea pop into my head after talking to the people in my local Necromunda group.

Re: OOC

Sorry no.
BUT you could have a character from the slums of a hive. In the off case you know you die soon. :)

Re: OOC

As a separate game sure you could.

Use Only War as your base and then use the regiment creator to instead of creating planetary regiments re-skin it into various Gang Houses.  You probably wouldn't use most of the support specialist roles (Commissar, Tech-Priest, Stormtrooper, Ratling, Ogryn) and there would be very limited use for the remaining ones (Sanctioned Psyker and Priest...though you could make a Redemptionist Gang made solely of a whole bunch of Priests).

No if I die I am going to come back as a Cyber Mastiff Handler with his hound K.U.J.0 and funny enough they have recently introduced a Slave Ogryn Gang in Necromunda.

Re: OOC

*chuckles*

That's right they re-issued the core set and are putting out new gang figs.  Also why they prolly tossed out the Necromunda video game now too.  Try and drum up more free news and cross-pollinate sales.

Re: OOC

They re-released Necromunda awhile ago, there are the main house gangs Venators(Bounty Hunters), Chaos Cult Gangs, GeneStealer Cult Gangs, a new Chaos Gang called Corpse Grinders the Palantine Enforcers(New School Arbites) and then the Ogryn.

Re: OOC

Cripes almost 300 bucks for the boxed set or 250-ish on ebay.

That's bonkers.

Not surprising they added more themed gangs.  More variety, more money.

Re: OOC

Well they really only added 3 new ones that I know of Slave Ogryn, Corpse Grinders and Palatine Enforcers, not sure if GeneStealer Cult was in the orginal and you could say Enforcers are just Arbites. They are really only missing 2 'gangs' to have the orginals Redemptionist's, which Cawdor fill real well, and Spire Gangs which Venator also fill very well as you have 4 variants of each rank. As of right now I own Goliaths, Orlocks, Palantine Enforcers and just got the box for Delaque and Slave Ogryns.

I find myself sad that so many of the 40k games Ive been apart of here on RPOL have died, and am happy that though slow this is still moving forward infact prefer this pace as I work most of the week.

Re: OOC

Dark Heresy is also a little harder to pace just because of higher whiff chance on average due to lower powered characters lol.

That's why low levels should be skipped fast with minimal combat.

Re: OOC

I received feedback from someone regarding the speed and the flavor of the game and it was great feedback. I ultimately dismissed it because of reasons below, however I wanted to use this opportunity to reiterate a couple of things regarding the game:

-This is an intentionally slow game because I didn't have time before. This has improved somewhat so I can respond to you more often even if you are out of sync from the group's posting speed.
-There will be riches, xp and spoils waiting for you but this game is modelled to tabletop pace and I will not really get you into combat at rank1 (and low ranks) unless you choose to do it and this brings us to
-Flavor: I only really provided the situation you have to solve, there is really multiple ways to "win", including a shootout, ambush etc. For now you were the ones who chose to go in peacefully.

Re: OOC

As long as it stays peaceful, I'm fine with that. Just not a lot more to do than roll scrutiny/awareness now and then.

Also Jaxom; do we want to try working in tandem on the gentleman or do you want me to sort of go off among the crew if you think he'll let us get away with it? Beyond staying in cover, leads to a somewhat stale scene. lol.

Re: OOC

Zeth, we are 1st levels. There are likely to be many situations where only one character has relevant skills, leaving the rest to watch only. You are, afaik, our only Inquiry type, if you want to chat with their sentry or whatever then go for it. I was looking at having the 'main group' in good cover if the fecal matter struck the rotating blades but the scavengers seem amenable to a peaceful solution.

Re: OOC

This is closer to Arbite operational doctrine anyway lol. Just need a lock up rhino for the survivors.

What's the range and field of fire we're looking at here as an aside? Dictates weapon choice to me.
